zofran dosage in pregnancy

I never used it during pregnancy but thy did give me a high dosage of it during labor it worked so good.

I keep seeing this ad on tv about zofran causing birth defects and other serious problems. Im freaking out because i was prescribed zofran in my first trimester!!!!! Any one else seen this ad and or taking zofran?!

I took zofran this pregnancy and my baby boy is completely healthy. No defects founds. Every nedicine has risks while pregnant.

And I'm on zofran 3x a day but in am or after long nap it's to late and I get sick anyway.anyone know why ? Anyone know how to stop it?

Zofran? That is a pretty strong med. I have heard of it being used in dogs going through Chemo but I would not use that without consulting a Vet first. Have you tried Dramamine or Ginger? What breed and size dog is this? How old? You could try a ginger capsule in something like lunch meat, cheese or pill pocket. I have had success using Ginger Snap cookies about 30 mins before leaving and take some along with me.

Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.

Zofran is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist approved by the FDA for preventing nausea and vomiting related to cancer chemotherapy and surgery. some women have it the whole pregnancy but it usually goes away in your second trimester and CONGRATULATIONS!!! pregnancy is a weird but joyful filled ride...I'm a ftm myself...

What I believe really helped her out with the nausea that the cisplatin caused was an anti-nausea drug called amend. That in combination with the zofran controlled her nausea very well.

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

I took zofran for the first 20 weeks of pregnancy it was that or become dehydrated and starve bevel with that I didn't each much but puked a lot less. Feel better!! Strangely enough my OB recommended drinking little sips of coca cola (not diet) it actually did help!

I was diagnosed with it first pregnancy I lost 15 lbs in first 2 1/2 months. Ended up in the er puking blood bc all the acid and bile I was puking up wore away my esophagus lining so blood was seeping through. I ended up being admitted had a two day hospital stay with iv zofran and had to take it test of pregnancy I never got better. On average I took 2_3 pills a day so I could eat. Thankfully baby was perfectly healthy.

Is zofran safe to rake during pregnancy? I've read some stories and some say it's not and can cause heart defects is this true?

It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)

This is my second pregnancy , my first was so awful I wasn't keeping anything down not even meds and I lost 20lbs the first trimester from my MS. I'm hoping this one goes smoothly . I'm only 4 weeks along but I'm. Starting to get nasousous and feeling like I'm about to throw up at all times so my dr . Put me on Zofran (which she did the first pregnancy put I couldn't keep it down so I barely took it) did you guys ever take it ? Does it really work .

I started with 2mg Lorazapam and it worked right away . I had nausea right away as that was one of my first symptoms when I got sick. I took alot of ginger for the nausea at first and then I needed something stronger and that's when I took Zofran. The Zofran worked on my nausea right away also. If you take the two together at bedtime, the Lorazapam will help you sleep and the Zofran will help with the nausea.

They can't actually prove it was specifically the zofran that caused the birth defects.

Oh im sry hun I was able to keep the others down after I got out of hospital adter having iv zofran. It may seem extreme but won't hurt to ask and you sound like a really severe case in fact I've never talked to someone who was worse than it than myself but im pretty sure you are worse than I was and I was really bad :-( ask you doctor about a pic line for iv zofran at home.

Every single commercial you see regarding a drug hits the rare side effects at the very end. Zofran is used in labor routinely and safely. I had to have it in both of my deliveries due to nausea and vomiting (seems I am a total wimp and that is part of my pain reaction). Listen to any drug add and they, at the very end, list a couple of things that according to the package inserts on these drugs is are very low but legally they have to mention them in order to broadcast an ad.

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???

I took zofran my entire first pregnancy because I was horribly sick an the first 3 months I couldn't even get out of bed let alone eat!

Zofran is NOT recommended by the FRAME for use in pregnancy. There is evidence of cleft palates and heart deformation in pregnancy. Diclegis is much safer and is the ONLY anti nausea med is the class A safety rating for meds. It has been studied for 50 years with zero correlation to negative side effects in the fetus. Only downside is it makes you really sleepy. Do your research.

I was on zofran and in the hospital for 90% of my first pregnancy and had a healthy baby girl. Now two and smart as a whip. Once again have the severe sickness and zofran is a life saver. Only thing that works.
