Common Questions and Answers about Zofran dosage forms

zofran

Avatar f tn I have a Chihuahua and she weighs about 3-4 pounds. What dosage of Zofran should I give my sweetie Pie?? She became sick a few days ago, and we are on vacation away from our regular veterinarian. I am extremely worried about her. She is 10 months old and my husband bought her for me October 31, 2013 because I had a Chihuahua that would've turned 13 years old October 7, 2013 but she was killed by my neighbors dog.
Avatar f tn I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.
564735 tn?1263943526 She is taking the following ani-nausea medicines zofran every 8 hours and taking promethazine every 4 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the nausea? Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is? Her intial treatment was ( i think ) 160 mg and it is to be given every 28 days. her DR is planning on either doing a reduce dosgae every 2 weeks or 1 a week to help reduce side effects...
Avatar f tn I'm also on two forms if Zofran and a suppository when the others don't work. When none work I go to E.R. for IV Zofran and fluids after a solid day of vomiting. I'm almost 18 weeks and still in this boat.
Avatar f tn I started with 2mg Lorazapam and it worked right away . I had nausea right away as that was one of my first symptoms when I got sick. I took alot of ginger for the nausea at first and then I needed something stronger and that's when I took Zofran. The Zofran worked on my nausea right away also. If you take the two together at bedtime, the Lorazapam will help you sleep and the Zofran will help with the nausea.
Avatar f tn They both work pretty good for me..the zofran does work a little better for me though but it makes me so constipated (tmi) and the promethazine will make you so sleepy! I still need both occasionally :/ 32 weeks today!
1711722 tn?1356487554 I was prescribed 4 mg of zofran to take every 6 hours as needed, however that low dosage wasn't working for me so I asked to double up on it to two 4mg pills and I do them an hour before my RBA. I'm not even on Vic yet so I was thinking if it gets worst with Vic I'll change up to Phenergan as some people have said that it (nausea) may get worst after the start of the PI.
Avatar n tn It has been used for dogs but that is a strong drug often given to Chemo patients. I am not qualified to give advice or dosage on that. It sounds like you should be giving your Vet a call if the dog has a vomiting problem and try to determine the cause.
Avatar n tn I take both zofran and phenergan ..I was getting the zofran at first but my insurance only pays for 12 and I can get 50 of the other if you wake up in the middle of the night take one it works best that way ...I'm 27 w and still have bad morning sickness some days are better then others ...
585414 tn?1288941302 I was unable to tolerate all anti Parkinsonian agents because they enduced psychosis as well as alpha blockers such as Clonidine because they enduced suicidal ideations. Has Zofran been regularly used as safe and effective for Zofran? What are the side effects? And also given I read it helped psychosis from Parkinson's could it help what is being studied as tardive psychosis.

Avatar n tn can a dog aprox 60-70lbs take Zofran for motion or car sickness. for extended 8hr car ride.
Avatar f tn Oh wow haha sry morning sickness. Uhm I took zofran but I heard a few good thing on here from ppl about unisom.
Avatar f tn Try eating some saltine crackers and drink some water and lay down and take deep breaths. That's what I did when I felt sick and it helped me.
Avatar f tn Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.
Avatar f tn Yip! Sounds just like me.
12380259 tn?1424964291 So I have heard about the Zofran issue and I have talked to my doctor and he talked to his consultant, I have talked to another doctor and a nurse and also researched on my own but I just read these comments on a fb post of all these women taking zofran and there babies had effects from it and I only have taken it if I felt I needed it once I got out of the hospital but now im freaking out reading all that!
Avatar f tn She can recommend a few medicines. She will probably start with zofran which didnt work with my first pregnancy ... but is a life saver right now in my 2nd trimester. I had hyperemesis so my situation was pretty extreme but see what she says. If you can try some of the natural things first I would do that. Honestly no matter what we say everyone's body reacts differently. None of the natural stuff worked for me. Not even gingerale. But it may for you. Good.luck.
Avatar f tn It worked really well for me. It can cause drowsiness so I always took it at night. Also Zofran is something else you may try. It caused me severe constipation so I didn't take it. There is also a law suit here in US against it for birth defects so just check with your doctor. Also peppermint candies and eating multiple small meals a day I heard helps some women. It didn't help me at all but worth a shot. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn m 13 now too) and when I brought it up to my Dr he immediately sent me in a prescription for zofran and told me to take it as needed because he didn't want me to be miserable. I would just keep on your Dr about it and if he still won't take you seriously or offer any advice then maybe look for a different Dr or midwife...sorry I can't be more helpful! Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Well the Zofran hasn't ever actually had a human have a direct problem from Zofran. There hasn't been direct proof, lawyers just noticed this was one thing in common women had when there children had a defect. But most woman are prescribed Zofran and have been for many years. Just talk to your doctor about it. In the research I have done and the doctors I have talked to say its safe to take.
Avatar f tn I was a scared to take it because i thought im harming my baby but my baby is looking to be fine im 17w+3d i now take zofran which helps me better. Crackers, ginger ale and all that was no help. Smelling those pops makes me sick lol but the doctor is not gonna give you something that will harm your baby. So its ok to take the medicine to help ease your sickness.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that if I had the answer to that question I would be sitting at my beach house enjoying my retirement instead of answering questions in this forum!!! There ARE some things that you can try though--ginger in different forms--ginger lolly pops works. Also, you can try a combination of Unisom and Vitamin B6 or just plain Vitamin B6. We usually also advise frequent small meals rather than large.
