zofran

Avatar f tn Why not have breastfeeding as an option to talk about, have interest in, or that (we) are knowledgeable in.
Avatar f tn is zofran safe to take during pregnancy... im 9 weeks and 4 days and the nasuea has been so bad i cant keep anythinf down at all...
Avatar f tn The unisom is a category A and benedryl is a category b. Both considered safe but A is safest and down to D is unsafe. Zofran is also a category b and phenegren which I have had too is a category c. So i quit taking it unless I really can't stop throwing up.
Avatar f tn Its so bad they prescribed me zofran. Ive been taking it ever since I entered my 2nd trimester.Ive been told there is lawsuits with this medicine as it causes birth defects. Any advice?
Avatar f tn Actually there isn't anything wrong with taking zofran... I'm actually on a zofran pump that administer the med to me continuously all day to help with my morning sickness... I'm 20 wks and my baby is doing just fine..
Avatar f tn If it's possible to go to the doctor before your trip, I suggest maybe getting some Zofran. It's safe to take during pregnancy and is like a miracle pill.
Avatar f tn m not saying its not safe, just that safety has not been established. I personally am on Zofran which is a category B, there are a few other Rx ones as well also category B. As for OTC I know Benadryl is safe as is Dramamine.
605914 tn?1243622344 Update - - so the Zofran for my nausea - - that I was so excited to try... well it only takes the edge off - - I'm still miserable most of the time...
4237864 tn?1406934017 Zofran is category b drug. Your baby is safe :) I had to take that as well in the beginning and now I am 34w4d with twin girls who are very healthy. Also I work in a pharmacy. Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I had the same thing and still do from time to time (I'm 11 weeks). I found that I wasn't keeping up with my increased fluid intake demands because of the nausea and vomiting. Also, my nausea was worsened by my constipation. I'm on Colace and Zofran now and the combo is really helping me stay hydrated. Good luck in nursing school! I'm a nurse and it was the best decision I ever made!
11970398 tn?1443134602 I think that there are some medications that are on the edge (like zofran) and had many different opinions. I always choose the natural route during my pregnancy though and I've suffered with GERD or acid reflux my entire life!
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed that. I believe that and zofran are the two they give pregnant women. Its a lifesaver.
Avatar f tn I used diclegis in very early pregnacy it Category A and did wonders my sickness went away around 12 weeks. If u cant keep anything down even fluids than you need something to relieve the sickness your doc wouldn't prescribe something they didn't feel was okay.
Avatar f tn Zofran is perfectly safe for use in pregnancy. Its a category B medication meaning that no studies have found that it causes harm in humans, although some animal studies may have shown slight risk.
Avatar f tn Probably much like most of you, I was told by my midwife recently, that taking zofran is safe during pregnancy. There has been many recent studies to prove, that this is not true! Taking zofran can cause birth defects, and a serious, life threatening reaction in the mother, called serotonin syndrome. My PCP told me today to use it sparingly, if I can't stop using it in entirety. http://www.****.
Avatar f tn I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn My doctor took ibuprofen off the list during my pregnancies and I was told not to take it. Advil is in that category. I only was told to use Tylenol. Ibuprofen is category C up to 30 weeks and category D after that meaning don't use before 30 weeks and REALLY don't use after that. Category C means that through animal reproduction studies, they have shown adverse events on the fetus. However a doctor can outweigh benefits to risk.
349463 tn?1333571576 My morning sickness kicked in yesterday. Its pretty much like an all day all night puke fest. Next week I am flying to Florida for a little vacation and it's about a 4 hour flight from where I live. Does anyone have suggestions on how to cope with a flight while having horrible morning sickness??? I'm almost sure that I am going to puke on someone. I just started zofran today, but I don't know yet how well it will work.
Avatar f tn 13 weeks 1 day: Anyone else have morning sickness all day, but it is way worse at night? I'm already on zofran, which helps all day until 5pm and then I feel like I've been run over. Tired and nauseous, even with the maximum dosage of zofran. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn On the app instead of clicking on recomended forums go to all medical support community forums and it will be in alphabetical order. Make a post and from then on the breastfeeding forum will show up in the my forums section of the app. I hope this makes sense. It's very easy once you figure it out.
1124862 tn?1303850973 OK.. so i know this might be TMI but i have been taking zofran for morning sickness since about 4 weeks ago... it has been great and worked miracles.. but... it does have one side effect or at least i think its due to the zofran... or maybe the prenatals?? everytime i pee this strong smell comes from it... its not strong pee smell but kind of a sour smell?? at first i thought it was my bathroom that maybe was backed up or had something in it that was ausing the smell..
Avatar f tn Well they say MOST women began to feel better around the beginning of the second trimester, hopefully you fall into that category of women. Ask your doctor about prescribing you Zofran. It's a anti nausea medicine that works wonders. Also don't let your belly become empty. It only makes it worse. I could only keep down cold fruit & smoothies forever.
Avatar f tn There's been mixed feelings on zofran I don't think there's an absolute warning against the Zofran but lawyers have been trying to push the idea. Iknow people who have taken it without any issues. It's such a low dose the doctors prescribe that it probably won't do any harm to the baby (as I was told by several doctors). Promethazine is actually in the same category as the Zofran as well (something I didn't know).
Avatar f tn m stable now and baby is fine, thank God, but I am now on Zofran and Phenergan. I was very concerned about the Phenergan because it's a pregnancy category c drug, but my Dr. has eased my worries slightly by saying it's not their first choice, but they do prescribe it all the time... What meds are you on, are they helping??
