I am eating zidovudine and lamivudine !and I am a smoker so i just wanna know smoke will influence medicine or not?
I ate lamivudine and zidovudine at 22 hours late after the behavior.Does it will work well?
When a Dr. tells you that you have Myopathy is that just the term he gives you until he narrows down his diagnosis?

What is steroid myopathy? What are the symptoms? Do you have to be on prednisone for a certain lenght of time? I have been on prednisone for 12yrs. I am just wondering!!!!!!!!

I had my thyroid removed due to cancer over a decade ago and have increasingly suffered with muscle issues since then, which I now know is called myopathy. My endocrinologist at the time was unfamiliar with muscle issues related to hormones, and most seem to be unfamiliar with that. I originally tried Synthroid and Armour, which did not rk at all for me, and Levoxyl (first name brand, now generic) which I am currently on. I also need to take T3.
In mitochondrial myopathy, muscle biopsy shows abnormal stain in muscle fibres (red ragged). In addition, stains also detect absence of mitochondrial enzyme in mitochondrial myopathy. Therefore, in mitochondrial myopathy muscle biopsy can not be read normal. Hope this helps.
I am 46 yrs old. I was initially diagnosed with mitochondrial myopathy about 7 yrs ago. But now, after going to a new neuro, he doesn't feel it is this. He thinks it is some kind of myopathy but not sure what kind.
But I have to wonder if maybe if it isn't MS. I have muscle weakness of my upper arms and thighs and hips. Also my respiratory muscles are weak. I have tingling in my feet and arms.
I took mine in February and was put on Combivir (AZT Zidovudine) and Kaletra to prevent infection after I was exposed to an HIV positive female.
Ever since then I have been struggling with health problems that seem to have no explanation. Fatigue, Crawling sensations, Weakness, bodywide muscle spasms, neuropathy, and now at the 8 month mark, I've lost about 18lbs of weight, and the fatigue is becoming more noticeable.

My question: Can "thyrotoxic myopathy" be induced by excessive dose of thyroid hormone replacement?
I posted previously in regard to my having been over-replaced with Armour thyroid, my T3 level being up to more than double highest normal (high normal 450 - my result over 900).

Genetic testing was performed, neomaline myopathy 2 was diagnosed in the genetic test. I have a 3 year old daughter. my daughter's development is normal. Is there a possibility that my daughter also has neomaline myopathy should I be afraid? Thank you.

my regimen was Zidovudine+Lamivudine+Aluvia, i mean, i missed one dose of Zidovudine+Lamivudine+Aluvia...you mean I should add one dose more on the end?
1 - would PEP be effective even if the source has a high viral load?
2 - After the 28 days, can I drink alcohol?

I am a mother of an otherwise healthy 17 y/o male who has been recently diagnosed with Necrotizing myopathy without inflammation. Based on muscle biopsy, high CK, abnormal liver enzymes, and lack any other objective findings. His symptoms are fatigue, inabiltiy to exercise, maintain weight or muscle mass.
I am 65 yrs old and I've been diagnosed with Mitochondrial Myopathy for over 5 years. One of the symptoms that really bothers me is driving 2 or more hours. It leaves so exhausted, that it takes a week to 10 days to recover. Is anyone else bothered like this and what do you do about it.
