[Abstract]
Objective To investigate the infection and prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the neonates whose fathers were positive with hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg).
Methods
HBVDNA were detected in 56 neonates whose fathers were HBsAg positive and mothers were without HBVmarkers, 10
neonates whose parents were both negative for anyHBV markers were as controls.
I am eating zidovudine and lamivudine !and I am a smoker so i just wanna know smoke will influence medicine or not?
I ate lamivudine and zidovudine at 22 hours late after the behavior.Does it will work well?

I was given Epivir, Viread and Zidovudine.

The authors randomised neonates immediately after delivery to receive either hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) or placebo in addition to HBV vaccination (at 0, 6, 10 and 14 weeks). 259 neonates were included in the trial with 222 completing 18 weeks of follow-up. Only 62 (28%) reached the primary endpoint of freedom from infection and the development of an adequate immune response to the vaccine.
I am a heterosexual male, had unprotected vaginal intercourse with an African woman (in Africa) that is confirmed to be HIV positive. All indicates she had a high viral load, due the conditions of her face skin(several warp looking / bubbles).
It was a one time event, I am circumcised and started the PEP (Zidovudine/Lamivudine + Ritonavir/Lopinavir) 9 hours after exposure.
Two questions : 1 - would PEP be effective even if the source has a high viral load?

my regimen was Zidovudine+Lamivudine+Aluvia, i mean, i missed one dose of Zidovudine+Lamivudine+Aluvia...you mean I should add one dose more on the end?
No Risk in a "Prick" alone. HIV is transmitted via INJECTION from needles not pricks. You should have still reported this and followed the hospital rules for this type of event.
Condom broke and therefore, unprotected sex continued for at least 4 minutes, the woman was confirmed HIV positive. In about 59 hours and 14 minutes, i started administering PEP (Combination of Zidovudine & Lamivudine)
1. What is the chance of infection after 4 minutes unprotected sex?
2.What is the chance that the PEP i will administer for 28 days will be effective at 59 hours and 14 minutes postexposure?
3. Is it advisable to have HIV test after 3 months from the date PEP are started?
On may 20, I had one possible exposure with involve with broken condom with KTV girl in Cambodia. I asked the girl about her HIV status she replied to me, "I want you feel scary for couple months". I told my friend about incident then he went to ask the girl to test and it came back negative. 12 hours after incident I was prescribed PEP for a month. The PEP was Avocomb (Lamivudine 150mg & zidovudine 300mg) which required to twice a day for 30 days.
m extremely worried from a condom break during anal sex with a women. I am male and uncircumcised. She is from Philippine and were spending vacation here in Brazil. On the other day I've asked her about her HIV status and she won't tell me. After 30hours from the episode I seek expert help an I was submitted to PEP (lamiduvine+zidovudine).

I was prescribed Combivir for a PEP regimen as a precaution following a possible exposure. From what I can gather on the web, Combivir is typically prescribed in tandem with another drug. Was the doctor unwise to prescribe the Combivir only? Thank you.
It is now one of the most important agents of nosocomial infections especially in immuno-compromised individuals, neonates and patients with internal prosthetic devices. In these patients, the infection result from a compromise in both general and local defense mechanism, and inability to clear staphylococci from infected device because of a biofilm on the foreign body surface.

i went to prostitute and used condom while doing sex with her. at that time on my right hand's middle finger, there is a 24 hour old small abrasion of 1cmx1cm which was not bleed, and i removed the condom with my right hand. then i feared that the hiv virus may enter through the abrasion. i don't know whether she had hiv or not. at the 14th hour of that exposure i started PEP with zidovudine and lamivudine. on 15th day of PEP course, i missed two doses and then completed in 28 days.
In general, lisinopril should not be taken with potassium supplements or diuretics that conserve potassium [for example, hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene (Dyazide)], since blood potassium levels may rise to dangerous levels.
PREGNANCY: Lisinopril should not be taken during pregnancy because fetuses and neonates have died when lisinopril was administered during pregnancy.
NURSING MOTHERS: It is not known whether lisinopril is excreted in breast milk.
