Avatar n tn I have IBS and have taken Bentyl and Zelnorm, my doctor took me off the Zelnorm because he said, it was a dangerous drug. Is this true ?
Avatar f tn last thursday I had taken a zelnorm because i had not had a bowel movement in about a week. since I have not stopped using the bathroom, all day and throughout the night, if i eat or drink anything I have to run to the bathroom within minutes and I have pains and bloatiness in my stomache. this has never happened before when I take the medication. I am afraid to leave the house and I have lost 5 lbs. any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I was not aware there are drugs available for IBS with constipation since Zelnorm. Once I was given IBS meds for DIARRHEA, and THAT was disastrous. I want to thank you for your input and making me realize the obvious: my current methods aren't working! I NEEDED TO HEAR THAT!! Thank you!
Avatar f tn It is under control after taking Zelnorm for 30 days and watching my diet. However in the past year and a half I have probably gained about 50 pounds for no reason. I exercise 3-4 times a week weight train 3-4 times a week and eat a reasonably healthy diet. I became really concerned when last summer I was looking to loose weight for my wedding so I started calorie counting (1500/day) and going to the gym 5 times a week doing 45 mins of cardio and 15 mins of weight training.
Avatar f tn thanks for responding to "your" post. My pain did begin w/ pain right under sternum, and it took along time before finally was told gastroparesis. I felt terrible, still do, but when it began, it started w/ difficulty breathing,,I still have a problem, dont know if I got used to it or am just not as afraid, cause its been w/ me so long? Do you "feel" your stomach when you bend down?? When you say scar tissue do you mean ulcer or gastritis, duodenitis?
Avatar n tn My husband has been experiencing nausea and vomiting (more so nausea) now for over 4 years. He was told he had some stomach erosion and was placed on protonix, with no results. He was told he had over 30 allergies to food and I was wondering should my he be seing an Allergy MD. Diagnosed with - GERD, IBS - but the purple pill or zelnorm treated the problem.
1225025 tn?1267101121 I have taken Zelnorm which has been very successful for me, but I have IBS with constipation and then when I haven't gone to the bathroom for a couple of weeks, the diarrhea happens. Have you tried Zelnorm?
Avatar f tn Easier said than done, I know, but stress is terrible for weight loss. I too have PCOS and understand your struggle. Because of the PCOS you should adopt a diet free of white carbs and lower your intake of sugar. I understand your financial situation, too. I recently had to get an EBT card to pay for food. Since you go to college do you have access to athletic areas like the track? Our local outdoor high school track is open to the public.
Avatar m tn Now many of you thought how controlling your mind can help you in weight losing. Yoga for weight loss, It is a sufficient for everyone.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your comment! I have scrutinized every weight loss quick fix out there as part of my research for The Flex Diet - and I don't believe eating honey is a great solution. Jaquta makes some great points about small changes in diet, activity, and lifestyle. Think about it in the longer term. Take care!
Avatar f tn What I can, most respectfully, share with you is that weight loss is attainable but there is not shot that is going to fix it for us. If there were, everyone would have taken it and obesity would not be so prevalent in our society. Portion control, counting calories/points/carbs, journaling your food intake and implementing moderate exercise works; I am a testament to that. Avatar n tn Theoretically, there are a lot of natural remedies for weight loss, though I have my doubts as to effectiveness. The only true weight loss program is to eat what you digest well (which is beyond the mere cutting of calories), don't eat what you don't, and exercise more. However, there are categories of weight loss aids: Heat: hot herbs increase metabolism some, and also help everything move through thre system more efficiently. Some, like cinnamon, also help with blood sugar.
Avatar f tn I feel chained to the bathroom and of course never clean. Zelnorm was the beat solution and worked really well but then was taken off the market. What can I do to resolve this ever increasing problem?
Avatar n tn I have recently have been diagnosed with Diabetic enteropathy of the colon and my Gastroenterologist has prescribed Zelnorm for this condition.Has this medication been effective in treating Diabetic enteropathy snd what are the gratest side effects? Thank you.
Avatar n tn When I first got diagnosed I noticed I started gaining weight. Once I was diagnosed I was put on Zelnorm and that seemed to help me and my body to "act normally" and I stopped gaining weight. I have always been very active...I work out 6 days a week doing cardio and weight training. I also watch what I eat very closely and count my calories every day. Like I said, with my diet and exercise and the Zelnorm (I think), I was able to lose any weight I had gained.
Avatar m tn Reglan is it- I refused it- Zelnorm worked for my gas- bloat but they took it off the market- I didn't have gastroparesis ( I was sure I did) but manometry showed goofy motility- and I also have gas /bloat after my fundo- unless you want to work with the bowel emptying- they tried me on Amitiza/ gave me diarrhea though. I like chewable acidopholus for the gut (GNC), as well as fiber choice OTC. You burping or any other symptoms.
Avatar f tn No, I don't say don't try anything, but I also don't presume to be able to tell someone what's best for them because I've seen so many "proven" routines fail over time. I've come to believe that we all just do the best we can and hopefully what we choose won't come around to haunt us a few years down the road. I'm always, therefore, suspicious of the latest fads, but suspicious isn't the same as saying don't try them.
