I am curious what the differences are between a yeast infection and herpes in MEN. From what I read they have very similar symtoms. What if any tell tale differences are there between the two? For example, I know yeast infections can cause an odor, but does/can herpes cause an odor?

BV isn't an std but just passed the same way. Basically if you have the bacteria, your partner would pick it up from you and have it on him. Then reinfect you with that same bacteria. But it isn't an STD. :>) Typically the medication given isn't the same as for a yeast infection. Yeast is actually a fungal infection which is different than bacteria. With bacteria, the medication is a pill and does have things to know about when taking it.

Or Trich .. Trich has a very foul odor especially after her period. Also she may have a thick white discharge, itching, accompanied with a foamy or bubbly discharge. I know this may seem gross but if you notice a foamy or mousse texture ring around your penis after intercouse she has Trich ... I can tell the difference between a yeast smell and STD smell, there's a very distinctive stench. A FOUL odor is a sign of an STD, whereas a MUSKY smell is usually yeast ...

Between my legs are very sore and it itches..I've been seeing a white discharge but it doesn't have an odor..this morning the discharge was clear and thick and a lot with no odor as well..I think this is a yeast infection but I don't understand y I keep getting them..I hardly have sex with my bf and he was treated for it a while back..

I treated it with vagisil and azo yeast pills, and although the itching, irritation, etc. is gone, but in their place has come a strong odor (there was no odor during the actuall yeast infection!). Is it simply a sign that I have not fully gotten rid of the yeast infection? Or something more serious?!?

As far as I know it was nothing but I would talk to your doctor tomorrow. I know I did end up having a urinary infection and a yeast infection sometime after seeing the discharge because I never told anybody. I have a yeast infection and it doesn't smell at all. It's itchy and white, mine wasn't even bad, just itchy but I know it can get almost cottage cheese like. If you have any discomfort or change in discharge, talk to your doctor!

have you actually been to the doctor to tell you that you actually have jock itch.. there usually is no odor when you have it. a yeast like odor is usually caused from a yeast infection. even though its usually common just for girls to have it.. as a guy you can get it too.. Hi Cak, Has his semen ever given you an irritation? the antibiotics he was would have given his smelly seman, and as he has had full tests, then like the chinese man think it could be down to hormons, have tried googling hormone imbalence and smelly p***s to what you can find.

Its the oposite of a yeast infection and happens when their is little yeast to stop an over groth of bacteria and a yeast infection comes from to little bacteri and an over groth of yeast.

Definitely sounds like a yeast infection. Usually they don't have a 'smell' bacterial infections usually have a smell. Go and see your pharmacist and they'll give you something to clear it up.

It may be a yeast infection. They occur during pregnancy often. I would definitely get checked by your doctor but that's what it sounds like to me.

u must get checked. if your positive that's a yeast infection, then there is so many ways to eliminate it. i used to have yeast infection before, i tried using natural remedies such as yogurt and such but it didn't worked. so i went to the local drugstore and get myself a garlic oil capsules/softgel. it really works for me and it also kills odor around the vaginal area.

I've been through this before, but after getting rid of the yeast infection without using and sepositories (monistat, etc) by using vagisil, and azo yeast pills, , I started noticing an odor along with thick lumpy discharge!

Are you sure it is a yeast infection not BV? I thought I had yeast infections for the longest time but it was actually BV.

Depends on the source. If your partner does not use condoms, the fishy smell is normal. You can solve that by using condoms. If its a fungus, try gentle baths with diluted apple cider vinegar.

Are you sure its a yeast infection? I had discharge well still do I thought it was a yeast infection but every time my doctor checked it wasnt. I started wiping with wet wipes it helped and got that pH body wash.
