Actually I was under the impression that women more often catch yeast infections from men, as they are less likely to have symptoms. However that doesn't matter because it can go either way! You can pick up tablets and cream for you and your boyfriend from a local chemist. As for prevention, use protection during sex. Yeast infections can develop of their own accord and the only thing to do is treat it when it appears really.

I got it from my girlfriend before. it makes your penis looks dry and it itches. it goes away if you dont have sex with her until she get treated. i have heard that its a bacterial infection that starts in only women but can affect men who have unprotected sex with woman. its not something they catch or pick up from someone its an infection starts in her that she has no control over.

Along with specialmom's recommendations, I'll point out that for some babies, yeast infections that look like diaper rash are a problem. Moms can think they are just garden-variety diaper rash (who knows but that might always have a yeast component too), but then they sometimes find that using a yeast-killing cream on the baby's bottom works a lot better. I used to keep Vagisil in my son's diaper bag for that reason.

Is her tongue white? Thrush doesn't usually manifest as a sore on the outside of the lips, as candida requires a moist environment to survive. Just wondering if this has been diagnosed and if the other symptoms of thrush are there because if it's just this sore again are you sure it's yeast?
It could be a yeast infection. It is more common in women, but men can get them too. It can be passed back and forth from your partner to you, especially if she is prone to them. Its not an STD, its just a yeast that takes over all the "good" bacteria that keeps things balanced. I would go see your doc again and ask them if that is what it could be. Women are given cream inserts of oral pills. Not sure how men have it treated.
If it's on the outside of your scrotum it's not a yeast infection but a different fungal infection akin to athlete's foot called jock itch. Uh, your first question should be, what was the diagnosis that led to you being put on such strong drugs? If nothing was found to be wrong, and you only mention STDs, not other infections, there would be no reason to put on antibiotics and a lot of reason not to, yet you're on two of them and you are here asking if you might have a yeast infection, something docs can look for.
