Harvey is a german shepherd, 2 years old, he is suffering from scabies, or sarcoptes scabae, it's a skin disease, the vet said, there are miniature mites or hives living in my dog's skin. They already give all the medicine, but harvey is still suffering for this disease. The worst is they told me that the only choice is mercy killing... because they already done their best as possible. But harvey is still eating and strong, so please help me find a treatment for my dog harvey...
38w2d my German shepherd,has been getting more and more attached to me he will follow me around every where I go in the house and sleep next to me to matter where I am. Im worried if he is going to hurt the baby because hes so attached to me or is he going to just be very protective around the baby? Any one else have any problems with there dogs ?
I have a 3 year old male German Shepherd who is very active. We take him swimming 4 times a week and a walk for an hour per day. He has been perfectly healthy. Suddenly he is limping off his right hind leg. There are no cuts,swelling,etc...Just a pretty bad limp for the past 2 days. This morning, it looks as though it has worsened. Can anyone out there give me some type of prognosis as to what this may be ?
I have a 11 month old german shepherd whos left ear was fine until he started teething now it is still down it goes up and down while I take him on walks will up come back up on its own. The right ear is fine he is a very large long haired german shepherd does this have anything to do with the ear problem.

I have a german shepherd dog since he was 2 months and now is 17 months. Last month went to the vet for check up routine. She said he is underweight. 21kg for his age was not satisfactory. prescribed some vitamins. He always looks well and is running and jumping in the yard almost all day long. I hate to lock it in his small house, because he is friend of the kids around and I love to see him playing free. Any suggestion to bring him to 30kg as suggested by the vet? Is it the right weight?
My 10 year old german shepherd started limping. The vet assumed because of her age that she has arthritis and prescribed Rimadyl. It didn't help plus I have read bad things about what this drug can do to a dog. I was petting her the yesterday and noticed that on one side it feels as if two bones are there and maybe come apart. It does not feel this way on the other side.
My german shepherd is 11 months old. She started not eating 3 days ago. All she does is drink water and then vomit it back up. She is not going #2 either. I have 8 yr old German shepherd dog. About 12 days back he started to bleed profusely through his nose. Initial blood tests showed decreased counts of haemoglobin & platelet and increase count of wbc. After a lot of medications, the problem of nose bleed every now & then persists. His latest blood tests show that platelet count is back to normal 250000, wbc count reduced marginally 2.3 x10^3, while the haemoglobin count has further gone down to 6.4. What should i di??

We have recently gotten a dog Blue Heeler (Australian Sheepdog) x German Shepherd and since I am unemployed I take care of the dog to occupy my time. For the first week I was fine, but as the week went on I've been feeling worse, I've had brainfog, nausea, dizziness, chronic fatigue, shooting pains in my face.
We cant go away anywhere cos no-one will look after our dogs lol we have a lurcher cross whos 8 (shes fine but mardy) and a german shepherd whos 3 and hes absolutly nuts!! We have tried for the past 3 years to go away with the dogs but when we try book and mention our german shepherd they say no!! People in the UK are very judgemental toward certain breed of dogs!
How have you ladies introduced your fur baby to your newborn baby? I have 2 yr old German Shepherd and she's never been agressive. I'm just wondering if there's something I should do to prepare her.

I have a 10 year old German Shepherd. A couple weeks ago we also had a pomeranian. They didn't get along very well but he dealt with him. We had the pomeranian for about 4 years when he suddenly got out of the house at night and never came back. He was very old and we think he left to die. This happened probably 2-3 weeks ago. Around 1-2 weeks ago my German Shepherd stop eating. He would go every now and then to eat some on his dry food. He soon left it there for a couple days.
I have an 11 month old german shepherd and I noticed 2 days ago that he has a lump as big as a golf ball if not bigger on the right side of his anal gland. I'm thinking that it might be the right anal gland but I'm not sure. It doesn't hurt him when you mess with it but when you give it a good squeeze he starts to yelp. I'm a cva, but I've never had this problem with my dogs before. I know how to do anal gland (my beagle needs her done twice a month).
