7922758 tn?1396296070 I have only experienced a yeast infection twice in my life and mine was due to being overly clean and washing to often and killing good bacteria... I have ocd so I shower an bathe a minimum of 8 times a day. It was heart breaking to be told by my doctors I couldn't wash with soap if I felt the need to bathe multiple times just use water... but most women get them from not being clean enough as well..

Avatar m tn the took x-rays of her foot and diagnosed an avulsion fracture and cellulitis and put her on Cefalex and rest for one week. She went to her Orthopedist and he said he saw no fracture in the x-ray and the infection was going away and he suggested more rest with her foot up to relieve the swelling. It is now almost three weeks later and the swelling is only getting worse. She had an MRI yesterday, and last night noticed that a similar bump had started on her right foot.
Avatar f tn So far im taking a prenatal supplement that has iron, an iron supplement, vitamin c to help absorb iron, and now im prescribed glyburide to help regulate my fasting blood sugars with gestational diabetes. I was only slightly anemic and to take soo much iron to supplement? seems excessive epecially when ive read about a link to iron supplementation with high blood sugars and increases risk for type two diabetes.
Avatar f tn Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment treatment resistance, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Diagnosis can be confirmed only after pelvic examination and swab samples of the discharge and cervix swabs. Treatment depends on the same. So please consult a gynecologist and get yourself evaluated. I hope it helps.
2003871 tn?1336168469 Diabetes, birth control, illness, antibiotics, and a random x factor can all cause a yeast infection. So if this vaginal inflammation is a yeast infection either or can cause it. You're really young so I don't know if you're worried about diabetes- do you have diabetes or many risk factors? If you have reoccurring yeast infections that can be a sign of diabetes, however yeast infections can easily occur without diabetes.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been recently diagnosed pre diabetic. Is it possible that this is causing a recurrent hard to treat yeast infection? I've tried Monistat and Diflucan. Neither work. It feels better at first but then it's right back with a vengeance. I've had many yeast infections over the years and never one that just wouldn't go away. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn I'm 17, 18 in a few months, a Junior in high school, and even though i've been waiting months for it to go away I itch. I have had yeast infections before, the itchiness, swelling, discharge, but I took some over the counter pill for yeast infection and my vagina still inches, swells and It's turning whiteish with small bumps on one side.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. you are such a wise lady to look at your health as a whole and try to be your best in that regard. High blood sugar is long known to be associated with yeast overgrowth. That does not necessarily mean diabetes but could. https://www.healthline.com/health/diabetes/diabetes-and-yeast-infections. Do you get an annual physical? If you haven't had one in awhile, it would be a great idea to schedule one.
Avatar f tn After that pregnancy, it seemed to have gone away, although I would get an occasional yeast infection here and there. Four years later, I got pregnant again, and struggled with the same thing. Constant infections. I also tested positive for chlamydia during that pregnancy, which was treated with a single dose of Azithromycin. I also tested positive for gestational diabetes during this pregnancy.
Avatar m tn i have small undiagnosed bumps on my penis (i have diabetes and this is often the result of yeast infections) and two weeks ago i received oral sex from a male who claimed to be hiv-negative. if it were to be assumed that i have hsv-2, should i be concerned about a real possibility of hiv transmission, or is it still a negligible risk in any case?
Avatar m tn My wife has re-ocuring yeast infection. Her doc took a swab and said no STS but yeast infection keeps comming back. y wife wants to ask her doctor for a sts test but I tell her yeast and sts are not realted. Is this correct?

Avatar n tn I had gestational Diabetes with my previous pregnancy, But was kept very much under control with diet and execersize. I have decided to get a monitor to keep an eye on my levels with this pregnancy. Up untill yesterday I have never had a reading above 140. Then yesterday It got up too 201 and within 1 1/2 hours of that reading it was back down to 98. I have had a mild cold and was wondering if maybe that was affecting something. I am now almost 16wks pregnant.
Avatar m tn ) What can happen with a man and wife is that actually, he can retain the yeast or infection (if this was a bacterial infection which green discharge and bad smell indicate mixed with a yeast or fungal infection which is a common combination) and pass it back to the woman. I would think it is more that than anything to do with the diabetes. I'd personally go back to your doctor and explain this.
Avatar m tn Water leak in the house where you stay, the season being rainy, not ensuring the cloths you wear are pressed and dry - all these can cause an yeast infection. Other causes can be using common toilets as in hostels or sexual contacts with persons already having an yeast infection or even exposure to plants and trees supporting fungal growth. It is also important to clean the head of the penis on a daily basis and keep the whole area and undergarments clean and dry.
