Is there any difference in the contraception effectiveness of Yaz in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome? If so what are they?

I started taking Yaz when I was about 17 years old to regulate my menstrual cycles. In the beginning when I was taking it, I had lost weight and noticed that i barely has problems with my cysts on my ovaries. It seemed to have shrunken them.I was doing fine for about a year, and stopped taking the pill. Then I got back on it a year later, and started having major signs of depression,weight gain,and just a change in my hormones.

I started taking Yaz two weeks ago I've had a good experience. the first week I had every symptom under the sun nausea, diaharreah headaches, but second week I 'm so happy my face has cleared up tremendously. I suffer from horrible hormonal acne since I was a teenager and I'm 25 now. I started noticing change within end of first week. Before I was on orthotrycycline and I was depressed irratable broke out horribly had a dark stain on my upper lip just horrible.

October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

Yasmine has a higher level of ethinyl estradiol (10ug more than Yaz) . Gianvi is the same formulation as Yaz, execept in generics fillers are different. Ocella is supposed to be the same as Yasmine, but fillers are diferrent and I reacted differently on ocella. Yaz has 24 pils and Yasmine 21. I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.

No, I did not suffer from depression or anxiety prior to taking yaz. I started Yaz on a Thursday and by Sunday I was super excited to see my boyfriend and then that night and the following day its like someone flipped a switch on me..I just felt weird all the time..even with him. Do you know why that is? I started taking Cypralex a month into taking Yaz. I did go off Yaz within 9 days because i thought something was weird...

she had to get several tests done because of all the pain she was in, she is currently going through a lawsuit with yaz because of what it has done to her.

I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.

I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! has any1 been on the yazmin pill and had a noticable change in there cup size? its the only reason i want to go on yaz really. iv had the implant in my arm for coming up to nearly 3 years now and dont want another put it in. i would rather go on yazmin but from reading all the reviews on yaz im now rethinkin my decision but to be totaly honest i just want my breasts to grow from a 32A!!

Have you seen the write up on the YAZ pill and issues people have experienced as Bayer "maker" of YAZ has not kept to their promises in terms of how good this pill is compared to other contraceptives. In a forum on this website there were quite of bit of ladies who told thier stories relating to this pill, headaches, bad acne, heavy mood swings, lot of others. Is Yaz treating u well?

Hi, as far as Yaz is concerned from personal experience i was a mess in every way possible. From anxiety to gaining weight, I actually experienced hair loss, white spots on my skin and countless other issues. I personally would not recommend Yaz to anyone, but it all depends on your body. At the point of seeing a stranger in my reflection with no one left to tell i just stopped caring about even taking yaz and soon after i fell like i was slowly waking up. I stopped the Depo shot 2 months ago, and immediately started Yaz, I got my period back at the end of my first pack of Yaz so about 1 1/2 months. How long does it take for Depo to completely leave your system, and if it's still in my system will it actually help protect me from pregnancy along with Yaz?

I was on Seasonale for almost 4 years. I loved it, but I gained A LOT of weight (I am 5'0" and have always weighed about 115...I got up to almost 150.) and was actually diagnosed with type II diabetes. I also take Modafinil (Provigil) which is known to lower the effectiveness of birth control...but I have never had any problems with that whatsoever, thank goodness! I stopped taking the Seasonale in September of 2007 when my fiance deployed to Iraq.

i too was on yaz for approx 3 months when my symptoms started, exhausted, moody, weak, cramps, muscle cramps, just achy pain all over, etc... which i didnt think of until now....anyways i had decided to switch to the depo shot because i couldnt remember to take my pill everyday....my forgetfulness got worse....so i was due for an annual and when i went in she found that my thyroid was swollen and proceded with blood tests.

I see that the one hormone is the same but the other ethinylestradiol in YAz is 0.02 and in Yasmin is 0.03. What does this mean and is it safe to give her?

Yes, I am black female and I have been taking YAZ for 1 and 1/2 years and I can't be out in direct sunlight for more than 5mins at a time, my skin feels like it's on Fire!!!
