xopenex

Avatar n tn Hi Aidens_Mom, Ya it's new to me also that asthma causes a 103 degree fever! Asthma can lead to pneumonia but not the other way around. When steroids are inhaled into the lungs to treat asthma it creates an immune suppression and can make the person more susceptible to infection. This is a scary thing for a mother not to mention your son and should be investigated further. I would recommend they refer you to a Immunologist, and have the level of antibodies your son has evaluated.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with COPD. I am using oxygen in addition to a Nebulizer four times per day. The oxygen is very helpful, but the use of the Nebulizer has made me feel worse. I develop a very rapid heart rate with the first use of the day along with extreme weakness. I don't feel well all day because I can't recover from the pounding heart rate and weakness before another session with Nebulizer is due. The two medications used in the Nebulizer are: Xopenx 1.
Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
212161 tn?1599427282 Xopenex is similar to Albuterol and may cause palpitations and arrhythmias. Flovent and Asmanex are steroid inhalers, both of which are used for asthma.
Avatar f tn In the states we have several versions of albuterol - Proair, Proventil, Ventolin, Maxair (technically pributerol) and a purified version Xopenex (technically levalbuterol). All of them Xopenex is the only one that does not go by albuterol. No generics because of the cfc ban. We do have generic albuterol neb solution. The Xopenex doesn't cause the shakiness that the other versions do and can be more effective. I wonder if that is what part of my problem has been? hmmmmm...
1580703 tn?1651904887 at what dosage dose and length of time does prednisone cause brain damage and memory problems, thinking problems? thanks!
1315759 tn?1274044788 the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home? i am on medicad and medicare and i am sure that if he prescribed it to me, that they would let me have one.
Avatar m tn Hi, it is possible to be having asthma issues and maintaim a good peak flow for a while. Peak flow reflects how clear the larger airways are. You could be having issues in the smaller airways. The presence of mucous would indicate that something is probably going on. You should really discus this with your dr at your next visit and see what he/she says. Another thought would be acid reflux. Could this be an issue for you?
327369 tn?1326119908 P.S. Our meds are Xopenex, Pulmicort..........these do not work during a cold and we always end up on Orapred (steriod). He has to have it though...........but we are on this a lot -----do you worry about the side effects of this if you have a child. Thanks!
312330 tn?1245176752 I use xopenex as my rescue med...and right now do Qvar and Foradil for my maintenance meds right now...but obviously am not under control.
Avatar n tn appreciate the info, problem is I dont currently have a doctor. no medicines either. I was diagnosed in 2005 and have been on advair and xopenex for a nebulizer but since around Dec or so precsriptions ran out and no insurance so dont have a doctor or any medicine. I am making it okay but did need advice about this trip. not sure at this point what to do. I will be traveling with my 2 grandkids 5 and 6 and sure dont need any health scares with them present as their dad just died may 2008.
Avatar m tn Do this anulom vilom (pranayam) morning and evening, and you will not need anything at night.Come back with your feedback so others can benefit. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
470885 tn?1326329037 First of all, I apologize if this seems like a silly question - my oldest son (now 4 years old) didn't have yogurt until he was well over a year old. I've been thinking about how to add variety (and extra good fats) to my younger son (8 months nearly 9 months old)'s diet due to the fact that he's a bit on the small side and slow to gain weight - but healthy - and I thought that maybe I could start giving him a bit of yogurt now and then.
6333619 tn?1386598382 Idk if the liter is harmful to infants and children, you may have to look it up. The thing i would be worrried about is that its not yalls cat, it just showed up one day and you rescued it. You dont know this cat basically. Right now its getting used to you guys but when the baby comes he will still be adjusting and i have heard of cats smothering new borns....
Avatar n tn I was diagnosted with COPD Stage II in 2009, it had been well controlled with meds, diet and exercise. Needless to say I was diagnosted with pneumonia and stayed 4 more days in hospital then moved to rehab for 2 1/2 more weeks. All this time I have been on 24/7 oxygen and doesn't look as if I'm ever going to get off of it. Almost all my meds have stopped working (spiriva, symbicort, advair, etc.
Avatar n tn I was able to quit using Advair and only use my rescue inhaler from time to time. (When someone decides to wear certain perfumes or colognes). I am taking grape seed extract which contains OPCs which are very good for controlling asthma. Just thought somebody would like to know...
212161 tn?1599427282 hey have a question has anyone gotton asthma at late in life am 49 never ever had asthma and got a cold now its going on 6 weeks and am still coughing all the time and wheezing a lot but i refuse to use the inhaler , i have a racing heart and dont they make your heart race? could some one plz shed some light for me. my son had it grew out of it he had as a small child , probley because i smoked when preg with him , but i have never had it and they telling me i do. thanks for all the help.
Avatar f tn Yes, have tried Flovent, Xopenex and Advair based on diagnosis from first pulmonologist. None of it helped. After a second pulmonologist did a flo test, he ruled out regular and exercise-induced asthma.
Avatar f tn Then she was fine for years until she started to have tonsilitis at age 3 her tonsils and adnoids were taken out She always has what we refer to as a cloggy throat Always clearing her throat filled with plegm and I mean every morning she wakes with this and had this prior to the tonsil surgery. She at age 6 starting have extreme breathing difficulty rarely ever with a cough or wheezing.
Avatar m tn Even the most recent study of Hill has evaluated a heterogeneous breastfeeding group and does not provide data for HBV DNA in mothers and infants (see the table for reference). Finally, the American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that HBV infection should not be considered as a contraindication to breastfeeding of infants who receive the approved hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) and HBV vaccine[46].
Avatar m tn I am not a doctor but I have been living with asthma for more than thirty years and six years ago I was diagnosed with tachycardia. Take your medication for tachy on time if you are on medication, if not get to the nearest emergency room when you are having an attack. The same is true for an asthma attack. If you experience both at the same time, use your medication and go to the emergency room. If you are taking ventolin for asthma, you know that it may speed up your heart rate.

212161 tn?1599427282 I HAVE SVT. MY HEART RATE HAS GOTTEN UP TO 300BPS AND STAYED THAT WAY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR MORE UNTIL I COULD BE SEEN BY AN ER. I ALSO AM ON XOPENEX AND SYMBICORT. IT DOESN'T MAKE YOUR HEART RACE AS BAD AS THE OTHER INHALERS. THE WORST THING FOR ME IS TO USE ALBUTERAL VIA NEBULIZER. IT MAKES MY HEART RACE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD 2 HEART SURGERIES TO REPAIR MY SVT.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I can't sometimes even on dulera and xopenex and spiriva and prednisone. My wheezing isn't cured and I'm having headaches, trouble thinking. what I'm referring to is antibiotic treatment of asthma- http://www.elsevier.es/sites/default/files/elsevier/eop/S0301-0546(10)00018-2.
