l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan , but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.

Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)... I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it) I'm 31 years old... Any thoughts ?

I have read that Travatan Z uses a milder preservative compared to Xalatan. In terms of efficacy in lowering IOP, is it as effective as Xalatan? Thanks.

You can also get the same problem with travatan and xalatan. I suggest you look into SLT laser treatment as a way to reduce the pressure and maybe drop down to just one medication a day hopefully. Then you might be able to use alphagan or trusot/azopt or a beta blocker and avoid the darkening problem.

He is 40 yrs old and obviously very concerned. he has been on travatan timolol, xalatan to name just a few but they have now put him back on xalacom. Have you any suggestions as to what to do next- l have heard from a friend that there are oral tablets available.

I would consider SLT and see how low it gets you in one eye. Might not lower it enough. If not taking a prostaglandin either xalatan or travatan z would be the most effective treatment - just learn to deal with some redness and long eyelashes.

Does anyone take Xalatan? I picked up my new bottle of Xalatan today and I noticed the pharmacist didn't take it from the refrigerator, but took it off the shelf where she keeps all her prescriptions. I asked her if she shouldn't have had it in the refrigerator since yesterday when I called in the refill. She said one day out of the refrigerator would not harm the unopened Xalatan. Hello, My husband is concerned about side effect he is experiencing since starting Travatan eye drops. In the process of diagnosing possible glaucoma He has been prescribed Travatan [travoprost opthalmic solution) 0.004% 1 gtts Left Eye per day. On day 3 of using these drops he is experiencing the following symptoms: tenderness of the eye [feels bruised when touching lid].

I had surgery and a stent was placed in my right eye. I have been taking Travatan Z drops from June until yesterday (10/13/16). I had an appointment with my eye doctor yesterday and he told me to stop taking the Travatan drops. I have noticed eyelash growth. I have discovered this is a side effect of the drops. Most of what I read says once the drops are discontinued, the eyelash growth is reversible. What does that mean? How is it reversible?

I have not been cleared by my doctor to discontinue the nightly Travatan Z drop .....The surgeon turns his patients over to a optometrist in the practice for continued cataract care, so I haven't seen my doctor since the surgery. In a few days, I have an appointment with a rheumatologist (new patient) and plan to request corticosteroid shots in two fingers and foot. Do you believe there would be a problem with me having the shots? Or any other rheumatoid arthritis meds? Thank you....

I HAVE BEEN TAKING COSOPT ABOUT 8AM AND 1100AM THEN I TAKE XALATAN ABOUT 9PM WORKING THE NIGHT SHIFT.MY PRESSURES WENT FROM 30S TO TEENS IS THAT OK?TO KEEP USING THOSE TIMES OR SHOULD I TAKE A COSOPT AT 8AM XALATAN AT 11AM AND ANOTHER COSOPT AT 9PM.?

I wonder if anyone was ever using the brand name Xalatan and then had to switch to the Greenstone generic brand (supposedly made by same company- Pfizer). If so has it worked okay? My insurance might not cover the brand name any longer, which I have been taking for about 30 years, and wants me to switch to generic. (Insurance company and pharmaceutical companies are driving me crazy with their prices, etc.

My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.

I use Travatan drops for the glaucoma so is there a difference Travatan Z? I do eye srubs every dayx2 with mild cetaphil soap since I have the inflammatory Rosacea on my face as well. Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.

Dear Sir, I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.

How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried? Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?

Hi l have been taking Azarga eye drops ( Timolol and Brinzolamide0 for 8 years twice a day with not much side effects except some dry eye, but recently it stopped being as effective in lowering the pressure so my eye specialist also put me on Travatan also ( Travoprost ) so l am now taking azarga twice a day and travatan one a day, the additional travatan has been successful in lowering my presssure but taking all these drops making my eyes more dry and slightly sore.

How long would you say it would take pressure in eye to increase from normal to 50. I am on timoptol and xalatan at moment.

And the new doctor suggested to use Travatan. Is there any difference between Latanoprost and Travatan?

s were slightly elevated (and an Aunt had glaucoma) but returned toward normal on Xalatan drops? Might she expect the cataract surgery itself to alter her pressures toward normal or should she have a combined laser filtering procedure? Thanks.

I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.
