This was due to a prolonged period of computer use and contact lens wearing that has caused the growth of many new veins in my eyes. I have found that my eyes turn red easily and feel discomfortable after using the computer. I cant use it for as long as i used to.
I sometimes feel an ache in my eyelids or around the eye. It's as if they feel a bit heavy as well. My eyes also tend to be more photophobic nowadays.
l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan ,
but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.
I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17.
Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
After healing of my one eye doctor decided to remove silicone oil but after remova of oil l my retina detached again then had again retinal surgery and doctor decided to leave silicone oil for lifetime in both eyes. Is it ok to have silicone oil for lifetime? When I awake my eye got red although my eye pressure looks in control why does it happen? I am using 4 eye pressure drops (Alphagan, cosopt xalatan, pilocarpine 2% ) all drops twice a day. My doctor stopped me to sleep flat?
We noticed this is November and our pediatrician had no knowledge as so why. His blood came back fine. His eyes look normal no red, swelling. He recently went to a local eye doctor which he was diagnosed with blepharitis. He were instructed to wash is eyes 3xs a day and apply eye ointment at bedtime. At the very outer edge he has a few about 10 lashes. Yesterday I counted the lower lid and he is down to 3. Please I hope someone can help our family.
I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.
Will be havibng laser treatment for this Do you know more about the type what it involved and whether it is safe(been told it is) Is this something the specialists should have picked up during a general axmination of the eyes eg slit lamp. Only picked up when i complaind of the halos and headaches. The pressure was at 50 i am 28 have been told unlikely to have done damage to eyesight as we lose many caplillaries or vessels (or something like that anyway).
Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)...
I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it)
I'm 31 years old...
Any thoughts ?
s were slightly elevated (and an Aunt had glaucoma) but returned toward normal on Xalatan drops? Might she expect the cataract surgery itself to alter her pressures toward normal or should she have a combined laser filtering procedure? Thanks.
hi last night i may have accidentally taken my xalatan eye drop twice in one day.i know the usual dose is one time a day.my question is if i did take it twice what would happen and would there be side effects?
my partner was diagnosed with high pressure in both eyes four years ago. He has had laser surgery to put small holes in his eyes to relieve the pressures, however since nov 07 his drs have changed his medication virtually every month as his pressures are increasing-now at 38! He is 40 yrs old and obviously very concerned. he has been on travatan timolol, xalatan to name just a few but they have now put him back on xalacom.
I HAVE BEEN TAKING COSOPT ABOUT 8AM AND 1100AM THEN I TAKE XALATAN ABOUT 9PM WORKING THE NIGHT SHIFT.MY PRESSURES WENT FROM 30S TO TEENS IS THAT OK?TO KEEP USING THOSE TIMES OR SHOULD I TAKE A COSOPT AT 8AM XALATAN AT 11AM AND ANOTHER COSOPT AT 9PM.?
m using Alphagan, Azopt (both 2x daily in both eyes) and Xalatan (both eyes at night). My pressure is now 14 in left eye and 21 in right eye. The retinal specialist had considered injections of steroids for the swelling, but thinks it may cause an exacerbation of the glaucoma, so is having me continue the Prednisolone and Nevanac until the bottles are empty.
I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/
Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.
My eyes experience a mild redness (especially in the inside corners of eyes), burning, uncomfortable irritation with increased light sensitivity for the past three months that occurred initially during a trial of Xalatan (I was not wearing contact lenses at the time). I've been to three opthalmologists (one is a repected corneal/external disease specialist at university).
42 year old male, IOP (both eyes) 18-19 (treatment with Xalatan just begun). No field loss in left eye, very minor field loss in right eye. Strangely, visual examination of the optic nerve showed nothing to the specialist that suggested nerve damage -- the only way he could even confirm that it was was from an OCT measurement showing the right eye nerve being slightly thinner than the left (85 microns avergage left, 80 microns average right).
Hi l am 47 and been diagnosed glaucoma for ten years,l dont think l have lost any vision as my peripheral and central vision tests are still good l have been taking eye drops for ten years but my eye specialist said they are no longer effective as the nerve damage in my eyes has been getting worse over past ten years.. He said the higher the number the worse it is and in the past ten years l have gone from a 2 to a 4.
How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried?
Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?

i have had a laser iridoplasty(have plateau iris) however still have episodes of mild blurriness eye discofort and slight headaches occasionaly and still on xalatan. optholomogist have said the Laser surgery has worked and angles are no longer as narrow and pressure has dropped to 10..Does this sort of laser stop an Acute angle atack?.
