In searching for a cheaper way to control glaucoma I found tablets offered. Do tablets work as well as drops??

Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)... I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it) I'm 31 years old... Any thoughts ?

Thank you. I am referring to an UN-opened Xalatan. Instructions say to refrigerate unopened Xalatan at 36 - 46 degrees. That is why I questioned the pharmacist keeping the Unopened Xalatan out of the fridge for one day. I've always kept unopened Xalatan in fridge. I am in my seventies and just don't want to do the right thing.

l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan , but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.

IM NOT SURE BUT I MAY HAVE TAKEN THE COSOPT THREE TIMES A DAY FOR 2 OR 3 DAYS IN A 4 MONTH SPAN.I ALSO TAKE XALATAN ONCE A DAY IF I ACCCIDENTALLY DID TWO TIMES A DAY IN A 4 MONTH SPAN WOULD ALL THIS BE OK.IM STARTING TO SCHEDULE TIS SO I USE HE CORRECT DOSAGE BUT IM JUST CURIOUS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

I wonder if anyone was ever using the brand name Xalatan and then had to switch to the Greenstone generic brand (supposedly made by same company- Pfizer). If so has it worked okay? My insurance might not cover the brand name any longer, which I have been taking for about 30 years, and wants me to switch to generic. (Insurance company and pharmaceutical companies are driving me crazy with their prices, etc.

I'm a 48 year old, white male, -5.5 in both eyes and worn soft contacts for 30 years. Live in the Toledo,OH area. I have no family history of high IOP. I have regular eye exams with normal IOP until about 4 months ago. Suddenly my IOP is in the mid 30's. However I was using nasal spray (fluticasone) for almost 1 year prior to the high readings. My eye doctor has done all the exams to check for vision loss and suggested there is little if any.

Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.

I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/

How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried? Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?

Dear Sir, I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.

I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17. Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?

have had the iridoplasty and have follow up in two weks i am still taking xalatan and timolo drops for now. what are the chances i will have to continue these drops??? what are the chances i wikl need the iridotomy.

I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. Under control low 20's on Lumigan, optic nerve healthy, no visual fields defects on test 5 months ago. However, last visit hemorrhage on optic nerve found and added Alpgagan P to Lumigan, did not do a thing after 6 weeks, pressure 24 today. Dr.

Lumigan (marketed for eyelashes as Latisse) has only been studied for eyelash growth and about 70% of people do develop longer thicker eyelashes. To my knowledge it has not been studied for scalp or eyebrow growth.

I personally often stop the xalatan for a few months after surgery and use another glaucoma drop instead but many doctors don't do that. Basically, if your surgeon is experienced and excellent, the chances of success are very, very high.

I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.

I have been pulling my eyelashes and eyebrows out for a long time no matter if I'm relaxed or stressed.I've found out yesterday that I have one or two eyelashes that are out a bald in a spot.I'm wondering if they come in.My mom tells me that they don't.I need more help than that.

The retinal specialist gave 2 very strong drops to reduce the IOP. Subsequent to using the drops he went for a check for IOP and it was 15. Three weeks after continuously using the drops on his next checkup the IOP was back at 27. The retinal specialist seemed to be a loss. He is now recommending a glaucoma specialist. We are not sure what to do.

Hi, Today, stupidly while getting ready, I pressed down to hard on my eyelash curler, resulting into half- cut eyelashes on one eye. I am seventeen years old and I use to constantly pull out my lashes. I have stopped, but now I am dealing with an unwanted trim of my eyelashes. I was wondering usually, how long does it take the eyelashes to grow back? I really appreciate it.

For the past month whenever our six year old daughter gets angry she starts to pull out her eyelashes....at first I thought maybe she saw me plucking my eyebrows and thought that is what she was doing. The outer eyelashes and the eyelashes on his lower eyelids appear OK. I am certain that he is not pulling them out, and he has no redness, discharge or crusting of his eyelids.
