xalatan for dogs

Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)... I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it) I'm 31 years old... Any thoughts ?

Thank you. I am referring to an UN-opened Xalatan. Instructions say to refrigerate unopened Xalatan at 36 - 46 degrees. That is why I questioned the pharmacist keeping the Unopened Xalatan out of the fridge for one day. I've always kept unopened Xalatan in fridge. I am in my seventies and just don't want to do the right thing.

l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan , but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.

IM NOT SURE BUT I MAY HAVE TAKEN THE COSOPT THREE TIMES A DAY FOR 2 OR 3 DAYS IN A 4 MONTH SPAN.I ALSO TAKE XALATAN ONCE A DAY IF I ACCCIDENTALLY DID TWO TIMES A DAY IN A 4 MONTH SPAN WOULD ALL THIS BE OK.IM STARTING TO SCHEDULE TIS SO I USE HE CORRECT DOSAGE BUT IM JUST CURIOUS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

I wonder if anyone was ever using the brand name Xalatan and then had to switch to the Greenstone generic brand (supposedly made by same company- Pfizer). If so has it worked okay? My insurance might not cover the brand name any longer, which I have been taking for about 30 years, and wants me to switch to generic. (Insurance company and pharmaceutical companies are driving me crazy with their prices, etc.

Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.

I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/

In searching for a cheaper way to control glaucoma I found tablets offered. Do tablets work as well as drops??

How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried? Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?

Dear Sir, I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.

I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17. Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?

have had the iridoplasty and have follow up in two weks i am still taking xalatan and timolo drops for now. what are the chances i will have to continue these drops??? what are the chances i wikl need the iridotomy.

I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. I personally often stop the xalatan for a few months after surgery and use another glaucoma drop instead but many doctors don't do that. Basically, if your surgeon is experienced and excellent, the chances of success are very, very high.

I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. The retinal specialist gave 2 very strong drops to reduce the IOP. Subsequent to using the drops he went for a check for IOP and it was 15. Three weeks after continuously using the drops on his next checkup the IOP was back at 27. The retinal specialist seemed to be a loss. He is now recommending a glaucoma specialist. We are not sure what to do.

Last few months l noticed when l am outdoors if l cover each eye with my hand on look in the distance l noticed the vision in my left eye is not as good or as sharp as my right eye. For example if l read the words on a sign 50 or 100 meters in the distance l can still read the words with my left eye but they seem slightly blurry or not as sharp as my right eye, but this is only noticable if l cover one eye at a time not with both eyes.

I was prescribed xalatan to reduce the pressure. Around the same time I started noticing afterimages from objects with high contrast to their background (tv against white wall, my phone against desk) after staring less than 3 seconds. Further, when I read text online I notice faint horizontal bars beside the text (negative afterimage of the space between the lines). The most annoying aspect is that I sometimes see a negative afterimage of the people I am talking to.

hi last night i may have accidentally taken my xalatan eye drop twice in one day.i know the usual dose is one time a day.my question is if i did take it twice what would happen and would there be side effects?

I had a Pterygium excision with conjunctival autograft about 6 weeks ago, initially I was using Maxitrol drops 6-8 times a day for about 2 1/2 weeks, I was then switched to Maxidex drops 5 times a day. mjk i have had a laser iridoplasty(have plateau iris) however still have episodes of mild blurriness eye discofort and slight headaches occasionaly and still on xalatan. optholomogist have said the Laser surgery has worked and angles are no longer as narrow and pressure has dropped to 10..Does this sort of laser stop an Acute angle atack?.

I'm on generic cosopt and recently started xelpros.

You can also get the same problem with travatan and xalatan. I suggest you look into SLT laser treatment as a way to reduce the pressure and maybe drop down to just one medication a day hopefully. Then you might be able to use alphagan or trusot/azopt or a beta blocker and avoid the darkening problem.
