Avatar m tn Yes, l got Glucoma at 36, is it just bad luck l got it ?or at that age do you think there might have been something that casued it like high blood pressure which l have? Also about what you said before about eye pressure changing hourly, when l was first diagnosed with glaucoma my eye pressure was 33, and l started using xalatan , when l went back 3 months later it was down to around 20 then when l went back 9 months later it was still 20.
Avatar m tn IM NOT SURE BUT I MAY HAVE TAKEN THE COSOPT THREE TIMES A DAY FOR 2 OR 3 DAYS IN A 4 MONTH SPAN.I ALSO TAKE XALATAN ONCE A DAY IF I ACCCIDENTALLY DID TWO TIMES A DAY IN A 4 MONTH SPAN WOULD ALL THIS BE OK.IM STARTING TO SCHEDULE TIS SO I USE HE CORRECT DOSAGE BUT IM JUST CURIOUS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
17644146 tn?1458782868 I am referring to an UN-opened Xalatan. Instructions say to refrigerate unopened Xalatan at 36 - 46 degrees. That is why I questioned the pharmacist keeping the Unopened Xalatan out of the fridge for one day. I've always kept unopened Xalatan in fridge. I am in my seventies and just don't want to do the right thing.
Avatar m tn My doctor told me that SLT is now a primary treatment against Glaucoma, that is why he suggested me to switch treatments... It sounds like you would first try other options ? Does this mean SLT could be potentially risky for my age ?
Avatar m tn hi last night i may have accidentally taken my xalatan eye drop twice in one day.i know the usual dose is one time a day.my question is if i did take it twice what would happen and would there be side effects?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.
Avatar m tn Will be havibng laser treatment for this Do you know more about the type what it involved and whether it is safe(been told it is) Is this something the specialists should have picked up during a general axmination of the eyes eg slit lamp. Only picked up when i complaind of the halos and headaches. The pressure was at 50 i am 28 have been told unlikely to have done damage to eyesight as we lose many caplillaries or vessels (or something like that anyway).
Avatar n tn After that bit of history my question to the medical experts is, the night before the vision problem started I had taken an over the counter sleep aid, Doxylamine Succinate 25mg (1 Tablet) could this with the other medication have contributed to my change of vision or is it purely coincidental? I will mention that field vision tests have been carried out and this shows that I only missed 1 light to the extreme lower left of my visual field and central vision is perfect. Thank you...
Avatar f tn Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change. I have changed detergents, eliminated all makeups, started using Cetaphyl for face wash. Any clues to what I should do next? Rash is mainly on left eye and one spot on cheek, small rash on right eye. I do sleep on left side.
17644146 tn?1458782868 I wonder if anyone was ever using the brand name Xalatan and then had to switch to the Greenstone generic brand (supposedly made by same company- Pfizer). If so has it worked okay? My insurance might not cover the brand name any longer, which I have been taking for about 30 years, and wants me to switch to generic. (Insurance company and pharmaceutical companies are driving me crazy with their prices, etc.
Avatar m tn I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/
Avatar f tn Why is it at night we feel more of these sensations then during the day?I have tingling feet, sapping pain senations, the bag of worms moving under my skin, and low back pain. I am waiting for a appt with a nero.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response, but I'd still like to know how long Xalatan is typically effective. Also, what is the longest amount of time you've ever had a patient on Xalantan before tolerance is built up? Thanks again, and I do very much appreciate that there are doctors responding to questions on forums such as this one...
Avatar n tn Alphagan is less expensive than Alphagan P. The difference is the preservative that is less irritating to some people with the "P" type. The IOP lowering capacity is the same. Xalatan (latanoprost) is often NOT used after intraocular surgery as it may increase inflammation and swelling in the macula. Home tonometry doesn't work for most people (scratched corneas, inaccurate readings, excess anxiety) discuss with the glaucoma specialist.
Avatar n tn Dear Sir, I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.
Avatar n tn Dr it is not the headaches it is the eye pain that I am stuggling with. Do the eye drops cause dry eye which can cause the eye pain? Optho knows I take BP medicine and says it is unlikely the cause.
681148 tn?1437661591 I know this is quite common to have symptoms at night when a person wants to go to bed and get some sleep, but why is the pain worst at night like this? It seems like every time I think I'm going to go to bed and sleep at a normal hour I either wake up in excrutiating pain, or I can't go to sleep for some time 'til after I've taken the pain meds, because the pain is so excrutiating. The pain I'm having reminds me of the the horrible growing pains I endured as a child.
Avatar f tn m using Alphagan, Azopt (both 2x daily in both eyes) and Xalatan (both eyes at night). My pressure is now 14 in left eye and 21 in right eye. The retinal specialist had considered injections of steroids for the swelling, but thinks it may cause an exacerbation of the glaucoma, so is having me continue the Prednisolone and Nevanac until the bottles are empty.
Avatar f tn He were instructed to wash is eyes 3xs a day and apply eye ointment at bedtime. At the very outer edge he has a few about 10 lashes. Yesterday I counted the lower lid and he is down to 3. Please I hope someone can help our family.
Avatar f tn The reason why your itch is more prominent at night time is because you get warmer. Anytime we have an itch issue, it gets pronounced when we are warmer, as in while covered up in bed, taking a hot shower or bath, or activity that gets our heart pumping faster or we are sweaty. I would recommend that you visit your primary medical doctor to see if he will investigate it or simply provide you a treatment with an antihistamine.
205212 tn?1202194797 I was wondering if anyone knew any studies that stated taking synthroid at morning is any different to the body if taken at night before going to bed??? I am wanting to take it at night but want to make sure the pill works the same. I am not sure that while sleeping that it works the same as you are up and active. I do know that a couple of people do take it at night and I am sure there are more out there.
Avatar f tn I have terrible leg cramps at night as well (I wonder why always at night?) And my doctor recommended to take magnesium. Since I'm taken iron as well, she asked me to make sure I don't take them at the same time. Can't really tell jet if it helps though...
Avatar f tn My eyes experience a mild redness (especially in the inside corners of eyes), burning, uncomfortable irritation with increased light sensitivity for the past three months that occurred initially during a trial of Xalatan (I was not wearing contact lenses at the time). I've been to three opthalmologists (one is a repected corneal/external disease specialist at university).
