Which allergy medicine is best for me

Common Questions and Answers about Which allergy medicine is best for me

Avatar n tn s triggers. I have allergies, which trigger my asthma (exercise is also triggers it). I take both allergy and asthma medication down here, which makes for a much happier choo_choo. In AZ I was in some sort of denial which made for a (needlessly) unhappy choo_choo and frustrated doctors because I would not use my asthma medication unless I thought I was about to die.
Avatar n tn On exposure to the allergen, an Immunologic (IgE) or a non-immunologic reaction is set in process, which ultimately releases histamine, which acts at the peripheral receptors, resulting in allergic reactions and rashes. The aim of the therapy is identification and removal of trigger factor. It is the most important and the only effective long-term therapy. Since you are already aware of the triggering factors, avoid them or desensitize yourself with the help of an allergy specialist.
Avatar m tn I agree. Whichever medication works best for you is the best one. I was on Prozac for awhile and it did nothing for me. Other people it works like a champ for. It's really a matter of trial and error to find the right meds. I have been trying to find the right med for two months now. I may finally be on the right one given a couple modifications. Give it time and keep your doctors updated and informed and work together to find the med that works best for you.
Avatar n tn t afford to keep going back to the doctors and racking up more bills searching for what is wrong with me. I do sometimes worry that maybe something hads been overlooked. Adrenal problems maybe? Or some type of serious allergy. They have ran all the normal test. Thyroid, sugar, iron...... I do have or was diagnosed with Trgiminal nueralgial left side. and I take Tegratol. What do you think about Wellbutrin? Help, please. Hope to hear from you soon.
Avatar f tn When I first hear Airius I think of allergy medicine, I only know of one Asher. But really at the end of the day it only really matters what you and you hubby want!

Avatar m tn Hi guys, I've dealt with allergies my whole life, and have always had to have a small pill container that has some benadryl in the event I eat something with allergies. As a guy, its always been super important that my pillbox had a very thin form factor. The one I had been using over 15 years of my life is the tupperware clam shell one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006R1FTBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I unfortunately lost.
2088782 tn?1333221786 So I just left the Allergist. Now I am more confused then ever. First I am told by one doctor that the chronic headaches, sinus infections, pain in my ears, blurry eyes and problems taking a deep breath are due to a milk allergy. So I cut all dairy out of my diet. I go see the allergist who tells me the test says I have an allergy but he says I don't ( he did the skin test). I looked at the blood test results. Milk showed a score of 40 level 1 (mild) and my IGE serum 152.
Avatar n tn I noticed on your discussion board that the latter is a generic. Now, what I would like to know is which is the best medicine I should be taking and how should I approach my Endocrinologist for a change in prescription. I want to thank you very much for having this message board to solve problems. This is great and your are to be commended for taking time to answer questions.

Avatar f tn which is best for an opiate addict? Maybe its a personal preference, but how do I find out which is best for me? I prefer not to tell my primary care physician about this, as he has been my doc my whole life, knows my whole family, etc.
Avatar f tn I too would always use condoms. Many people don't like them but I think that until you are ready for children it is the best method to use on top of using some other form.
Avatar f tn Noxema products are great on treating acne. They contain things like Eucalyptus and menthol in them which refreshes and moisturizes your skin. I've used it for years. (By the way, stay away from Stridex pads, they horrible for your skin). I'd say the best treatment for your skin is a microbead Noxema cleaner before bed every night. That will prevent the acne and make your skin healthy and soft.
2114467 tn?1358210256 Sure, ask your doctor about it but my guess is that it will be OK. If it works for you now then I would definitely take it. It helps to have as many knows as possible when you are taking new meds & new rescue meds. Be double sure you drink lots of liquids when you take any antihistamine while treating (well, all the time actually).
Avatar f tn You can only take benedryl, nothing else.
Avatar n tn they could have stopped then but went on with trying to give me the 4th, 5th and 6th. Now (beginning july 2009) cancer is back. CA125 is 98 (was 14). Allergy starts directly after starting carboplatin. Few drops enough. Now: I have to decide. One hospital wants to start taxol carboplatin again.
5544493 tn?1369608788 Well, as thatquietgirl said, it really depends on the individual. Part of it also depends on whether you're BP I or II, and whether your main problems are depression, mania, or a lot of both, and whether you have psychosis in the mix. Lamotrigine and carbamazepine are generics, for the record, and Abilify and Seroquel are still under patent and so there aren't any generics yet.
