Common Questions and Answers about When will namenda xr be available

namenda

Avatar f tn She did a mini neuro/cognitive eval and said this may be something more than MS. Now she has prescribed Namenda XR for me. I googled it and it says it's for Alzheimers. I do have family that have/had dementia/Alzheimers. Does anyone else with MS take this??? Or do you know anyone with MS that takes it? From what I read, it makes symptoms worse with people who have MS. Sad face...
5717070 tn?1376586671 BUT, my insurance (Aetna) has denied it. Oh well... They put me on Namenda XR - is usually given to patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's.
Avatar m tn He is trying to decide if he should wait for the new treatment or do traditional. Is there any news about when the new treatment will be available? He is so discouraged and doesn't know what he is going to be able to manage. Is his likely to continue to feel badly? What can he do for symptoms?
20003388 tn?1515166040 I'm just curious if anyone has been on Namenda and could tell me how long the initial brain fog lasted for you? I just started Namenda yesterday, 5 mg a day for 1 week then 10 mg a day in divided doses. I have memory issues and severe cognitive impairment. I was put on Namenda by a neurologist after a thorough examination. I expect the brain fog from starting Namenda up but am just trying to get a time frame for when I could expect the initial brain fog to wear off. Thanks everyone.
Avatar n tn Blood work will be needed to find your proper level. Blood level needs to be between 0.8 to 1.5 in order for Lithium to even work.
Avatar n tn my husband just started on Namenda, starter doses, however, while I was at work today, he took 3 of the pills(5mg), should I be concerned? do I just have him continue tomorrow with the correct one pill in the morning? doesn''t seem to have any side effects.
Avatar n tn My 79 year old father sustained a TBI when he was knocked out for about 20 minutes. He is on Namenda and Plavix, is it possible that Adderall could help with his short term memory loss. Before the accident he lived on his own.
Avatar m tn I am currently on Effexor XR 150MG twice a day. I also sometimes have to use Clonaxepam 1/2 mg before bedtime in order to try and get to sleep. Also Aprazolam once a day as needed. The issue is I was just laid off and I need to fine a generic alternaive to Effexor XR the current generic for it it still too expensive for my budget. I there anything in the SSRI class that you would recommened that i can start transition to?
Avatar f tn org/posts/Depression-Mental-Health/Effexor-XR-withdrawal-symptoms/show/267377 that the lowest dose they had before going to zero of Effexor XR was 18.75mg. The lowest dose available in the market is known to me as the 37.5mg. Frankly, I'd like it for the 18.75 mg to exist - but how true is it? (Also, on other sites I read about people opening up the capsules but many don't recommend that as not all particles are exactly the same.
525627 tn?1234098075 How long have you been taking Effexor XR. I only ask because it worked great for me, for about 3 years and then slowly became non-effective. I had to switch meds and add Lamictal to get effect back.
767538 tn?1276575320 and used more often, if the cost of it will go down and/or be covered by insurance. You would think that if it does work and doesn't cause any long term effects that the insurance companies would want to cover something like this so they wouldn't have to be constantly "paying" for medications and other treatments. It actually could end up cheaper for the insurance companies, but you also know how they are -- they want to KEEP getting our money!!
Avatar f tn My neighbors doctor prescribed fluoxetine and namenda before MRI being done.test came back no signs of alzheimers disease. Should she continue to take ? She is 80 years old somewhat forgetful nothing to make you say you can't function she is 80.
Avatar n tn Better late than never! I took both of your advice's and consulted with docter next time I went. He said fine to take both at night. Unfor, there is no generic for the XR yet (or wasn't late Sept, 12). With the amount of stuff I take for FMS (depression involved), back pain and ADD, I have to have the generics if they're available. I may go back temp. to 1 and 1 again. Without the XR, does seem like I'd not be gettnig the full affect.
Avatar n tn Because your grandmother suffers from chronic kidney infections she should not be taking Namenda, no matter how old she is. When you said that you tried her on if for a week, did her doctor prescribe this for her? . Medications for Demential and Altzheimers are also not suitable for people who suffer from cardiovascular diseases, e.g. had a heart attach for example. People with Dementia and Altzheimers do get aggressive and this part of the illness.
Avatar n tn I would have to say the odds of you experiencing some pretty nasty withdrawl symptoms will be high. You took Effexor for 7 years. I have yet to talk to anyone that has taken Effexor more than two years and not experienced withdrawls, even with a slow taper off method. Your trying to stop Effexor cold Turkey after a 7 year usage? Not much good will come from that attempt. What's even more alarming is that you say your also quitting Topomax cold turkey.
Avatar n tn I have been told this is uncommon to have both of these conditions and have each of them on both sides. What could be causing me to have all of them. I am under pretty good control as I take neurontin and namenda. Before I was put on namenda i was having rhizotomies almost every three months due to the excruciating pain.
Avatar m tn Hi, This is the 3rd time I have posted the same question. I'd appreciate the courtesy of a response. I've had difficulties with PD and GAD for years. Here in NYC it takes an act of God to get 0.5 mg alprazolam. Well, I went to a kind psychiatrist who participates in my Medicare Advantage Plan and has been in the biz for nearly 40 years. He is sympathetic to the surreal, inescapable, "military issue" amount of stress in my life.
1985196 tn?1402190098 I see my psychiatrist next week and she's going to be putting me on Lithium . I've had my bloods taken so she will have the results back , hopefully everything's ok so i can start my treatment , i'm currently on Seroquel XR but i'm not sure if i will be staying on it or taken off it , also just curious can they do Lithium injections ? i'm getting sick of taking pills and seem to forget to take them alot these day's .
Avatar f tn Hi Don't listen to him you will relapse and be in a terrible state you might get hospitalised, what an idiot !!!!!!!! Dr's do not acknowledge withdrawals though they are very real I came off effexor cold turkey through a Dr's fault and I suffered like a dog. Contact my support group CITA they help people come off these drugs very very slowly one at a time and you don't start the next tablet till you are over the first etc.
Avatar n tn which brand of generic Effexor XR is chemically closest to the brand name Drug, the drug compound & the capsule
