I've not heard of anyone or remember lol seeing it mentioned here, so i did a quick search and drugs .com states...... "In a trial testing the use of memantine (the active ingredient contained in Namenda XR) in MS patients with cognitive impairment, nine out of nineteen patients reported a worsening of their neurologic symptoms that deteriorated their quality of life.
Effexor XR at 37.5 seems to help my anxiety, mild depression and sleeplessness. I have never taken an antidepressant before. At age 73 can I take Effexor XR 37.5 for the rest of my life so that I do not go through withdrawal having to stop?
Is this Dr. correct prescribing her this new medicine without slowly wheening her off of the Effexor XR. Are these symptoms due to her going "Cold Turkey" with the Effexor XR? Please advised.
FDA is notifying the makers of fluoroquinolone antimicrobial drugs for systemic use of the need to add a boxed warning to the prescribing information about the increased risk of developing tendinitis and tendon rupture in patients taking fluoroquinolones and to develop a Medication Guide for patients. The addition of a boxed warning and a Medication Guide would strengthen the existing warning information already included in the prescribing information for fluoroquinolone drugs.

I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal?

I also read where doctors are prescribing up to 210mg of Vyvanse. The most common high dose is 140mg. This is called Off Label Prescribing.
Does anyone here take over 70mg of Vyvanse? If so, how long does it last?
I actually called Shire this past weekend and made a product complaint. I told the rep that my meds were wearing off after 4-5 hours & asked if it was possible to get my doctor to write for more than 70mg.
My neighbors doctor prescribed fluoxetine and namenda before MRI being done.test came back no signs of alzheimers disease. Should she continue to take ? She is 80 years old somewhat forgetful nothing to make you say you can't function she is 80.

I was on 150 mg of effexor xr for around two years. i tapered very slowly and had horrible headaches and brain zaps that were very very scary. While tapering my doctor put me on 20 mg of prozac and I think that helped somewhat. but three months later im still having occasional brain zaps Are these symptoms going to be permanent? im afraid that the effexor has done damage to my brain.
d like to know why there is not a law making health care providers provide us with this information first before prescribing these drugs. Also, why is it that no one ever tells you what you will experience after you quit taking the drug!
My tapering was a little different from what I am reading here. I was on 75mg for two years and then I was told to take it every other day for at least two weeks before going down to 37.5 every other day.
s *real* stubborn. he wants me to take some seroquel xr and i agreed because i am trying to please everyone, inc. me. when your anxiety and depression are too high-octane for ADs and benzos, as you may know, sometimes they add seroquel XR to help, esp. if extreme anxiety and depression are dis-integrating your thoughts a bit as well. happens to the best of us!
I have been taking Effexor XR 75 mg for about 8 months. I started weening myself off 4 days ago taking 75 mg every other day. This morning at work something terrible happend. I can't see straight, I am sweating really bad and my vision is blurry. I am a designer and i need to focus! I can barley sit up straight, and I don't know what to do.
What could be causing me to have all of them. I am under pretty good control as I take neurontin and namenda. Before I was put on namenda i was having rhizotomies almost every three months due to the excruciating pain.
It may be sensible to discontinue the medication for a while and see if his anxiety diminishes. Talk it over with the prescribing doctor. If he stays on medication, Adderall XR may be a suitable choice for his age.
I started taking effexor XR a little over a month ago after for almost a month i had experienced EXTREME panick attacks and anxiety (along with an array of other symptoms, which were mainly just in my head). I've had cat scans and blood work and x-rays, it all came back perfect. My doctor had me take 37mg for the first week, then 75mg for the second week and 150mg the third week. I've been on 150mg for about 17 days now.
