My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days. Everything went back to normal, but all the symptoms are back once more.

About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something.
I made an appointment with a Corneal special at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore MD. Deff. worth the hour drive.
Even the receptionist/Nurse have been more helpful than any doctor I've seen.
They told me they know how scary it must be to not know where to turn, but that if the doctor they made the appt, with isn't the right one, he'll deff. know where to send me.
Have you heard of an Ocular Immunologist? If so, what is it? What do they do?

This is correct. It's why lotemax was developed and why its so expensive.
Nothing in this story make sense. Tobramycin is an antibiotic. cyclogel is a dilating medication. Its not used to treat infections. Few things will progress that fast to lost eyes.
You need to discuss the case with the ophthalmologist and then present the case at grand rounds for discussion by all the medical attending.
I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
I was diagnosed with GPC 2 months ago and I've been using Tobradex for two months. My Opthamologist says my lids look better, but there is still some allergen there. He told me that I need to stop taking the Tobradex because apparently it's not good to take it for a long period of time. I've stopped taking it and my eyes are back to feeling awful. They didn't feel 100% back to normal on the Tobradex, but it helped!

I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever.
Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse.
Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
I got worried and went to a urgent care and met a general physician, he prescribed me Gentak eye ointment and I used it for 2 days and the eyes got well. Now, again it started from few days the eyes becoming red and feels irritating, and this time I went to a ophthalmologist yesterday and he prescribed TOBRADEX and he said vision and everything is good and it seems to be an infection (conjunctivitis).
Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
My ophthalmologist diagnosed me with viral eye infection and prescribed me TOBRADEX. I used TOBRADEX 3 times a day for the first two days, then 1 time a day for another 3 or 4 days, and then stopped.

I am not taking any script , but I am nearly certain mine is a reaction to the adhesive used in my eyelash extensions. The only thing that is weird for me is that it seems to be bothering just one eye and not the other. I just went to my lash lady yesterday and sure enough this morning my lower lid has developed that patch of dry skin again. I went to my Optometrist the next morning and he found 3 lesions in my RT eye ... LT eye was ok (for now). He prescribed Tobradex 1 drop 4 times per day but seemed very concerned ..... Help .... what is going on in my system ... why the lesions and the blurry vision ?? Will this happen to my other eye ?? Why is this happening to my eye ... Help !!!
The culture will likely come back negative due to being on antibiotics for so long. My guess is that you may have a chronic lid problem that is causing eye irritation. Possible blepharitis or lid margin disease. It is ok to culture now - probably will be no growth or possible some type of resistant bacteria. You may need more attention directed to the eyelids as the source of the problem.
