Common Questions and Answers about What is tobradex used to treat

tobradex

Avatar n tn I used 200 milligrams a day of doxycycline for about five years to treat acne but finally stopped a couple of weeks ago, my opthm wants me to continue to use it but I've quit because of side effects, particularly the severe dryness throughout my body.
Avatar n tn t know what you have, it would be in your best interest to see an ophthalmologist. YES to last question.
Avatar n tn Nothing in this story make sense. Tobramycin is an antibiotic. cyclogel is a dilating medication. Its not used to treat infections. Few things will progress that fast to lost eyes. You need to discuss the case with the ophthalmologist and then present the case at grand rounds for discussion by all the medical attending.
Avatar m tn The only way I am able to control it....is to start Tobradex the day of the procedure and use it.....2 drops a day for 2 days after the procedure. Is it ok to use Tobradex, once a month, for 3 days at a time? Any thoughts on what could be causing my reaction? Thank you!
Avatar n tn Consider glasses or refractive surgery. There is a non-steroid drop used to treat it called opticrom. Prolonged use of steroids is really bad, risks glaucoma, cataracts, fungus infections.
Avatar n tn i am reading on theinternet that the abovementioned drugs are prescribed for infective conjunctivitis (mainly bacterial), whereas azyter is used soley to treat blepharitis ( i do not have this condition, he confirmed that to me), should i consult another physician? or the drugs he prescribed are accurate for my condition? Thank you once again for this great forum, unfortunately i live in a developped country (lebanon) where medical treatment and service is not highly efficient.
Avatar f tn I have been noticeing small clear bubbles forming on the inside of my lowere eyelid . I have several of them , i had some tobradex drops and used them but nothing is makeing them go away , has anyone had this problem ???
Avatar m tn Too many unknown variables. Please specify what medication you are taking and what is the cause of your corneal scar (trauma, infection, inflammation). You can always ask your doctor prescribing the medications as well.
Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Tobradex ointment (4x per day) in conjunction with an oral antibiotic to fight an infection from a ruptured sty. After 10 days the opthamologist checked my eye again and told me to continue with the Tobradex (3x per day) until the 3.5g bottle was finished. It's been 4 weeks now and I've decided to stop using the Tobradex, but I notice that my vision is blurred in that eye and I can't focus on objects at long distances.
Avatar n tn My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.
Avatar m tn It is always the left eye. I have had one opthamologist treat me for Herpes Keratitis while another for chronic blepharitis (I do have seborrhheic dermatitis). What can I do to head off these attacks? I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar n tn I am an adult and used Tobradex for an eye infection. I had adverse reactions to it and it made me sick. Ask you doctor about side effects because an infant is so small.
Avatar m tn My lingering concerns which he could not seem to answer - 1) did the drops cause the blurred/worsened vision, 2) will it return back to my baseline vision, and if so, when?, 3) will it get worse?, 4) if not the drops, what is causing my vision to decline in a matter of 1 week? I am an allergy sufferer, and have very bad sinus/allergy symptoms, but seem to get that every year. Any thoughts? I am very concerned about my vision continuing to get worse.
Avatar m tn Now, again it started from few days the eyes becoming red and feels irritating, and this time I went to a ophthalmologist yesterday and he prescribed TOBRADEX and he said vision and everything is good and it seems to be an infection (conjunctivitis). But I don't have any pus or water coming out of my eye, no blurred vision, and my vision is good. My worry is I had a protected sex with a CSW on 3rd week of Nov, 2009. Is my eye symptoms related to any STD infections.

Avatar m tn ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, monofloxacin, fusicid acid, chlortetracycline... Also anti-inflamatory drugs like Tobradex and FML which help reduce inflamation but not treat the cause. What worries me now is that inflamation has reached near the cornea, as an incomplete bluish ring. May this threaten the cornea? My vision is not normal and i have had watery eye for about half a year now. What treatment do you think will be best for this condition? Ciclosporine after a steroid, another antibiotic?
Avatar m tn About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something.
Avatar n tn My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok? I stopped using tobradex now.
Avatar n tn On day 6, pressure was good according to my doc but today on day 13, pressure had gone above 30. My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure.
Avatar f tn Hello, and thank you in advanced. I'm a 24 years old female. I live in Virginia. My left eye's problems began in 2008. The problem began with watering of my left eye only out of the inner corner. This water wouldn't leak don my cheeks, it would collect on the top of my eyelid. This made just the corner red and irritated. Then the skin started cracking in the corners. I was given Pataday and antibotic ointment to put on these cuts and was told it was allergy related.
Avatar f tn t doesnt seem to burn like the others. Can you please tell me what the eye pressure is suppose to be. My Dr. wants to see me in 3 weeks, he is hopeing the restasis is going to make my eyes have more moisture. My eyes are still blurry they are every day, and they hurt.
Avatar m tn i think tobradex cream is not a good medicion ...
Avatar f tn Only someone that has examined your eyes can tell you how it should be used. It's important to know that "bacterial keratitis" is a potentially serious problem that can lead to permanent eye damage.
Avatar m tn it retains enought heat to turn it over once too. What i do know is not to put press on those styes, just let warmth soften then up. Wash that area too, before the warm rice pack, and after, and your hands too :) At least 4-5 times a day. good luck..styes are no fun, but your continuing to warm it will do wonders.
