I took a free trial of it for 10 days, during which time I helped, but then went back off of it for a week (trying a different, cheaper medicine) before going back on it. But after being back on Kapidex for a few days I got sick - nausea, some diarrhea and severe loss of appetite for most of the day. I spent the weekend in bed, thinking I was just sick, but now it's Thursday and I still have the nausea and very little appetite.

The best medicine I have tried for gastroparesis is Domperidone. The FDA doesn't approve of it. Many/most GI doctors do. Try to get a prescription from a GI doctor and you can then purchase the product in Canada. You cant get it at some compounding pharmacies in some states in the US, but the prices are 3 times the Canadian prices. Good luck!

I have never heard of that med, but in research see it is used for reflux and gerd jut like the meds I am aware of. The dr will RX meds for the mgs and dosage ( times per day) per ur symptoms and how much healing u need.....I am on a gerd med and take it twice a day..... If u also modify ur diet and lifestyle u may heal a bit faster and be able to cut back on teh dosage faster.

When we go to the doctors for help they weigh the pro's and con's of the side effects and then send you off to role the dice and see what you get. I'm sure they don't want you to get a side effect but they are not the ones who have to suffer with them so it's not a big deal.

Also, I recently heard about Kapidex. Is this significantly better than the others out there (including the Nexium I am on) or should I stick with the Nexium?

thanks. iv tried every medicine there is to try. im currently on kapidex. it has helped with the acid but the pain is still there. they told me i have a motility issue. iv lost so much weight because its hard to eat any food. it is basically ruining my marriage because he can not understand what is actually going on. he has been there for me but i think he is getting tired.

So when it flared up today i also got diahreeah which is rare for me. Only thing different i ate the night before was an chocolate ice cream bar which i never eat because GI doctor said to avoid dairy products. My biopsies came back normal and so did ultrasound and blood tests (Heliobactor, e.t.c.). Anyways it flared up this year after a stressful situation but before that i was symptom free for 3 years without medicine. Why was there such a break in my acid reflux?

I would love to find a non addictive form of medication for anxiety. To me they are all the one. Only some are longer lasting. Like Klonopin. It is used for more lasting anxiety sufferers. Not a quick fix for an anxiety attack. But if you ever have to come off it, well, it is the same old problem. Weaning and withdrawls. Just like every other form of medication. Just a case of which one can be used, without losing tolerance, for the longest amount of time. Klonopin wins that race.

Didn't the doc explain that it was possible you would have to maintain a diet and meds after surgery? Didn't you know you had Barrett's esophagus before you went into surgery? There's no way would could have developed Barrett's in the time frame between the surgery and the latest endoscopy.

5 years ago I was diagnosed with GERD, about a year ago, had a endoscopic procedure where they dilated the esophagus and I just had it dilated again, have been told that I have serve esophagitis and gastritis, I take kapidex 60mg twice a day along with Carafate and reglan, could the Gerd be what is causing the esophagus to narrow and what other complications could I end up with if this continues. At this point I always have a sore throat. and the medications only keep the reflux at bay.

Another option would be to put six inch blocks under the feet at only at the head end of your bed. That is actually better for your back, but my husband would feel like he is falling out of bed all the time. I would never hear the end of his complaining about it, so I got the pillow. Feel better. but i fear that switching over of the present medicine to new medicine of new psych may creat lot of anxiety to me again. or my new psych should slowly taper off old medicine? because i have also gone through switching over.new doctor/new medicine means everything new?
