Hey all, I received a positive test result for HSV 1 in September of 2015. I was initially stumped because I have never experienced symptoms, and up until now, have just been waiting for one of those sneaky outbreaks. My partner and I have been together since I found out, and he has been tested twice since, once in Dec. 2015 and once in Apr. 2016. Both tests came back negative for HSV 1 & 2. So here I am, still fretting about having herpes, still no break outs.

If it is the USA, then they don't check for HBV. I know that from 10 years ago. The blood tests are for TB, HIV, and not HBV. There are carriers who went right through. And they'd only find out later on when they donate blood or are pregnant. Think about it -- 10% of APIs in the USA are carriers. They don't check for HBV. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, and my statements are outdated.
