There really was nothing in this for the American and Canadian people. We set ourselves for a loss and then facilitated that loss. As individuals, when we make a bad deal like this, we personally take it in the shorts.... then when our nation does it to us.... where's the outrage? Is this ok with American people????
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The Justice Department is seeking $1 billion from Bank of America, alleging the bank committed fraud by selling defective mortgages from a program it says was known within the bank as "the Hustle."
Those mortgages were purchased by government-backed mortgage finance firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, resulting in over $1 billion in losses for taxpayers and countless foreclosures, according to the complaint announced Wednesday by the U.S.

As far as High School is concerened I enjoyed an Enterprenuer class I took. We had to build a business from the ground up. We had to type of proposal's and show it to a bank to get approved for loans to build and operate the business and the whole nine yards.
Yes, you are digressing, but I'll answer your question anyway. I was totally against bailing out the banks. If *I* do not tend to my finances properly, no one is going to bail me out; I would fail; I would have to file bankruptcy; I would lose my home, my belongings, etc.
I believe that there are times when people/businesses have to be allowed to fail.
