epivir

Avatar m tn But the APASL and EASL guides, both consider no treatment if ALT persistently normal and hbvdna is less than 2,000 iu/ml. So yours is a grey area, personally, I think it is best resolved by taking a Fibroscan - if there is no significant fibrosis, then you can wait and monitor, otherwise treat. With cirrhosis, any hbvdna level should be treated. Just my opinion.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if it is worth it at this point. It is 72 hours post-exposure for me right now and I took the triple therapy that I have-- Epivir, Viread, and AZT. I took a dose of Epivir and Viread at 42 hours and then decided I was being paranoid he didn't use a condom [since I only have his word] but read your post and got nervous, so I took a dose of Epivir and Viread late by 6 hours. I started the AZT for the first time at about 72 hours.
Avatar n tn I looked up the website for Entecavir after your recommendation, and it appears it is a newer drug than Epivir, and the result is better in terms of resistance. Epivir, the the best of my knowledge, is Category C for women, which means to me that "not proven" on human, but proven safe on lab animals. So, since Entecavir is newer, what is the status of lab testing? Also Category C?
Avatar m tn As you know, Epivir cause virus mutant resistance, and chance is higher for me since I have been on it for 5 years. My doctor gave me 2 choices, 1) "don't fix it until it breaks" - continue with Epivir, move to combo treatment when mutant and resistance evidence shows up. 2) "precautious way" - take baraclude. What is the better approach? Thanks Here is my recent blood test result.(all in normal range) Protein, Total 7.5 Albumin 4.5 Globulin 3.0 A/G Ratio 1.
Avatar f tn Taking Epivir for over 2 years put you at very very high risk for developing resistance. Change to Viread as soon as possible. But do you know why you were started on treatment?
605968 tn?1221314018 Does anyone know where to get entecavir, epivir or hepsera for a more reasonable price? We live in US. Middle class family without government subsidise. Our insurance do not cover medicine. entecaver us$900.mo epivir $300.mo hepsera $750 mo.
Avatar m tn Yours is a very special situation. Epivir was taken just as a precaution. It is not clear whether you are even infected with HBV. The HBV antibody in the donor liver could be just from immunization. I wonder whether you should test for HBsAg and hbvdna, or even HBcAb just to see if you are infected? If you are not, I am sure you can discuss with your doctor about stopping Epivir. Just my opinion.
Avatar m tn your only fear should be add tenofovir as soon as possible lam is the weakest drug that is not allowed to be used on hbv anymore
Avatar m tn t remember, should I take the AZT with my Viread and Epivir for a more potent PEP regimen? Or is Viread and Epivir alone okay? I have no side effects from them. Given that this is a gay sex club in NYC, an epicenter of the epidemic? Is it possible to forget having anal sex as a top? I am not a frequent visitor to sex clubs. I do have a phobia of "forgetting" anal sex when I'm drunk- though I've never forgotten it ever before.
Avatar m tn I see in many posts that the odds of getting HIV is 1 in 2000. Is this the odd for US or all over the world? How to know such odds in Thailand?
605968 tn?1221314018 You are right. With your son's status both views were seen. hepsera+epivir give him a better chance against resistance.
Avatar n tn 1 Does this mean I do not respond to Tyzeka? 2. Should I change to Ziread since it is approved. 3. I have experienced elbow pain, left arm, with Tzyeka. 4. Does changing drugs instead of stopping altogether cause flare up? Previouusely I took EPIVIR for 7 years and Hepsera for one year. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I was wondering given the following conditions - 1) HBV is UND (<357/IU) 2) On Epivir for the last several years because after some surgery the doctors thought it was possible I had been exposed to HBV or got some tainted blood 3) previously had the HBV vaccine 15 years ago. 4) No signs of HBV.
1049958 tn?1273763102 t want to chance a viral mutation by taking Epivir. But if the plan is to take it for a month or two, even Epivir may be okay.
Avatar m tn Does PEP cause itchy palms? My palms have been itching for the past couple of days. I've been on PEP for about a week now.
Avatar m tn All I can give you is my experience. I have been positive for hep C for the past 20 years except for a period on treatment for a year when before I relapsed. The doctor told us there was little danger of transmission of the disease for monogamous couples. They told us not to share tooth brushes or razors. We have been married for 42 years. I have also had hep B in the past but am now immune to that one. My wife has always tested negative.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar m tn why etv since tdf is more potent, zero resistance, cheaper?
1622229 tn?1299050798 go to the best doctors and liver center in the country, if you can afford it move to harvard boston or HR in LA, i can PM their names baraclude cannot be used at this point because several mutants might be present (baraclude don t work with mutants it will develop other muatnts if used monotherapy) and hbv dna is too high for an antiviral to work.i guess the high hbvdna is due to mutants not immune tollerant at this point.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was diagnosed as Hep B carrier 8 years ago. My initial LFP tests are normal, and I do it every one or two years (not twice a year), and I never did any DNA QT test. Recently I did a Hep DNA QT test and it is 1060 copies/ml which is above normal range (<160 copies/ml). AFP is 7.9 above normal range (<6.1). LFP are normal. My doc prescribed Hepsera. Do I need treatment with this DNA level? Is this Hepsera the right drug for my situation?
Avatar m tn and lamivudine is out of guidelines for hbv, what kind of nazy country are you from to allow such distortions of healthcare?
