All the three medications- VESICARE, ENABLEX OR DETROL LA are equally good drugs. However, I would recommend Detrol LA as it is the relatively more established drug in terms of safety and efficacy. The following facts would help you.
DETROL LA Capsules contain tolterodine tartrate. The active moiety, tolterodine, is a muscarinic receptor antagonist.
The recommended dose of DETROL LA Capsules are 4 mg daily. DETROL LA should be taken once daily with liquids and swallowed whole.
My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this.

I remember some stupid urologist giving me a painful test and telling me I had something else. I refused to take the meds as of side effects. Went to see another urologist who gave me Detrol LA and it worked! Now I go about one-half as many times as before. You need to find a doctor who can see if you have this very, very common condition. What is the cause for sudden pain and numbness in the ear and jaw joint? I am a 22 year old female and I have been experiencing these symptoms since yesterday. I was fine until the evening when I touched my right ear (towards the inside) and minced in pain. Since then I have noticed pain, pressure and partial numbness what feels like the inside of my ear, towards the middle, and about an inch around it surrounding the top of my jaw joint. I have difficulty opening my mouth too much.
$100 via mail order for a 3 month bottle. It really works. 92% of the OAB is gone if not more. Problem is the side effects are common. For me, I have every side effect. Mild dry eyes so I have to use eye drops. Mild constipation for two to three random days a month. It prohibits your ability to sweat so don't over do it outside in the summer. Also, the pill is very sensitive to alcohol. It will make you a very cheap drunk. Mileage varies. I'd look into a urologist asap.
m wondering if my doctor could prescribe something to help with my overactive bladder so I could keep taking the Lexapro or if I should just take something else instead. Lexapro is good in ways because it produces fewer side effects than any other SSRI med that I've tried and I've tried many of them. What do you think?
My PCP put me on Detrol LA years ago, it was the only MS symptom I had at the time, not that we knew it was related to MS at the time. Hind sight, anyway the Detrol LA has really settled down the sudden and frequent urges. I still drink a lot of water, but now its more "normal" and go any where from 20 minutes to an hour. I start slowing down on the amount of water in the late afternoon/evening, but still get up usually once a night, but life is much better.
I think I read that it is common....I would check into the side effects of detrol too...I can't remember what it was but I know I made them take my husband off that stuff....I think as she heels over time it would get better. I had cystocel rectocel and vaginal repair 4 weeks ago today....I am so much better than before I cannot tell you....I had prolapse.
Yes, both cystoscopes showed bladder lining clear and pink, no irritation, got the microlab back today and no cancer cells, so that was good, only thing abnormal was the WBC Esterase was abnormal and Urologist said back to stronger antibiotic, Doxcycycline, and Detrol La to relieve muscle spasm... does that sound like urologist is on the right track? The first 3 or so days were amazing, I felt motivated, awake, and alert, and most of all, it helped suppress my hunger, and I already felt like I was on the right path to losing weight, and eating smaller, healthier portions. No side effects! Then on the 4th day, about an hour and a half after my first short acting dose, I start to feel some chest pain, not exactly sure how to explain it because Ive never felt something like it before.
He took another specimen and everything was clear. He gave me a weeks supply of Detrol LA.(not sure why because its not like I am having to go all the time I just feel like I do) I am still taking it on my third day. I am still not feeling normal. My belly feels bloated or full. I was just curious as to what could be making me feel this way and what should I do next. Is it my bladder or something else? Or can I still have an infection or could the infections have damaged my bladder?
Hi everybody ok heres my problem that maybe somebody knows what is wrong with me starting about a month ago i have been feeling pressure too pee and when i go little to nothing comes out and i have to go like every five min and that goes on for like a week or two and then it stops and im fine then after a week or two it comes back and it happens again the er sent a urine culture out and it came back fine and also the urology doctor did a urine test and it was fine he did a ultrasound of my bladd
The pcp referred me to a gyn who gave me Detrol LA. That worked for a few months then I stopped it because it was losing it's efficiency, and $$ on inefficiency is not my thing! (Besides, he did dermatology laser work on the side and for some reason, that just creeped me out!)
I did have surgery for endometriosis/ovarian issues and they diagnosed me with Interstitial Cystitis as well. (New set of gyn & urogyn dr's.
