Common Questions and Answers about Detrol la and side effects

detrol

Avatar n tn Hi, My doctor had tried me on Vesicare but the side effects out weight the benefits. I was given Buscopan and Detrol LA to cope with bladder problems. I had a lot of problems with pain spasms and urgency. The Buscopan and Detrol LA help but in a case where I have severe pain, I now use Morphine.
Avatar n tn I now use Detrol LA and Buscopan to combat these spasms. It does not get rid of them but it does dull the intensity.
Avatar f tn VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar f tn My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this. This discussion is related to Urinary Urgency/Frequency/Incontinence.
Avatar f tn My question (after all that build up) is are any other men here on Flomax combined with Detrol LA? And, if so, has anyone had the same experiences that I previously explained? Finally, does the body seem to adapt to Flomax, and return to semen production (without abdominal pain after orgasm)? I apoogize if my language seems quite blunt, but I'm extremely concerned (especially the abdominal pain after, even though short-lived).
Avatar f tn I'm not sure, but have you (or has he) checked with his cardiologist? If so, what does he/she say? Hope the move goes well and you enjoy your new home!
Avatar m tn Went to see another urologist who gave me Detrol LA and it worked! Now I go about one-half as many times as before. You need to find a doctor who can see if you have this very, very common condition. Good Luck to you.
Avatar f tn Just like after a trip from the dentist, the feeling you have when the numbness begins to fade and the pain takes affect. I just started taking Detrol LA again last Friday and could not find any related side effect except for joint pain. I have been searching online everywhere for answers. I will not be able to see a doctor for another four days (if I can be seen on Black Friday). Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing all of this trouble? Should I be worried? Thank you very much.
Avatar f tn While the Inderal has helped lower the BP and heart rate, I am having significant side effects from it and just wondered if others had experienced the same thing. I am quite fatigued but the most disturbing thing is I'm having very vivid and scary dreams. Has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar m tn I have been told by my doctor that I have a chronic case of IC....(about three years ago) I was ok for awhile and, now the severe pain has returned....which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...
Avatar f tn I think I read that it is common....I would check into the side effects of detrol too...I can't remember what it was but I know I made them take my husband off that stuff....I think as she heels over time it would get better. I had cystocel rectocel and vaginal repair 4 weeks ago today....I am so much better than before I cannot tell you....I had prolapse.
Avatar f tn They will put you on the new medicines for overactive bladder like Detrol LA or Vesicare. As for the being thristy--sometimes this is a side effect of medicines but you really need to be checked by a doctor right away. Hope this helped and everything is fine.
Avatar n tn I worked for a urologist and we used a TENS unit type treatment called Uroplasty, that stimulates the tibial nerve with aids with bladder control. Detrol LA is also the highest recommended urinary incontinence treatment by physicians. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar f tn More fuel for the fire, but 2 32oz bottles a day or you will get dehydrated on the medicine I am about to recommend. For me, Detrol LA, Vesicare, Enablex didn't do anything for me.They helped, but not fully or it gave up entirely on me. The miracle pill that worked for me is Sanctura XR. It is expensive. $100 via mail order for a 3 month bottle. It really works. 92% of the OAB is gone if not more. Problem is the side effects are common. For me, I have every side effect.
Avatar f tn Usually, any drug causing severe or significant side effects is discontinued and another substitute drug will be used. Hence, it would be helpful to get your prescribing doctor to prescribe an alternative to lexapro.
Avatar f tn No I have other symptoms, tingly fingers and hands on left side, lightheaded, dizzy, extreme fatigue for no reason, pain in my neck and shoulder area, pain in my arms near my elbows, feeling of tightness under my right rib that comes and goes. Some days I feel fine and other days I am not myself. Also have been getting headaches above my left eye. Had an MRI and stated that I have lesions in the juxtacortical position and may be due to demyelination or ischemia.
Avatar f tn about 2mths ago I developed eyelid dermatitis (or so im told) above my eye. I used a hydrocortysil 1% cream and i think i had a reaction and the under eye area became red and dry (i hate it). Since then I am using La roche posay toleraine ultra for under eyes and it's ok. But gets very dry and I have a few times "buffed" off the dryness with cotton pad. This makes it redder!!!.
Avatar n tn Yes, both cystoscopes showed bladder lining clear and pink, no irritation, got the microlab back today and no cancer cells, so that was good, only thing abnormal was the WBC Esterase was abnormal and Urologist said back to stronger antibiotic, Doxcycycline, and Detrol La to relieve muscle spasm... does that sound like urologist is on the right track? Thank you for your reply.
Avatar f tn Drugs such as oxybutynin chloride (Ditropan®) and tolterodine (Detrusitol®, Detrol LA®) are taken orally, once a day, for overactive bladder. You can consult your doctor for these options. Also, I suggest you can initiate antibiotics like ofloxacin for better management of the infection.
Avatar m tn The first 3 or so days were amazing, I felt motivated, awake, and alert, and most of all, it helped suppress my hunger, and I already felt like I was on the right path to losing weight, and eating smaller, healthier portions. No side effects! Then on the 4th day, about an hour and a half after my first short acting dose, I start to feel some chest pain, not exactly sure how to explain it because Ive never felt something like it before.

Avatar m tn ve tried many different overactive bladder medications, such as Detrol LA. I am now on Desmotabs, which I thank the world that I found, as this has all but stopped the night-time issue. Still, I wonder if there's anyone out there with my symptoms, that has found a way to best it. The D tabs are fantastic, and I can usually take a couple before going out with friends, and not have to make the usual 100 trips to the bathroom in a night, so it has greatly reduced my anxiety and embarrassment.
Avatar f tn The pcp referred me to a gyn who gave me Detrol LA. That worked for a few months then I stopped it because it was losing it's efficiency, and $$ on inefficiency is not my thing! (Besides, he did dermatology laser work on the side and for some reason, that just creeped me out!) I did have surgery for endometriosis/ovarian issues and they diagnosed me with Interstitial Cystitis as well. (New set of gyn & urogyn dr's.
Avatar m tn I was put on Cipro XL for 6 days and the infection cleared but not the fequency and urgency to urinate. My doctor gave me Detrol LA a week ago and the symptoms have subsided greatly. On Sunday, my husband and I had intercourse. I lubed up well and all was good. Again on Tuesday night, we had intercourse - no pain. Wednesday morning, after I urinated, I noticed blood on the toilet paper. After 3 wipes, no more blood. There was not much blood. I went to the ER - urine is fine.
Avatar m tn Hi everybody ok heres my problem that maybe somebody knows what is wrong with me starting about a month ago i have been feeling pressure too pee and when i go little to nothing comes out and i have to go like every five min and that goes on for like a week or two and then it stops and im fine then after a week or two it comes back and it happens again the er sent a urine culture out and it came back fine and also the urology doctor did a urine test and it was fine he did a ultrasound of my bladd
Avatar n tn He took another specimen and everything was clear. He gave me a weeks supply of Detrol LA.(not sure why because its not like I am having to go all the time I just feel like I do) I am still taking it on my third day. I am still not feeling normal. My belly feels bloated or full. I was just curious as to what could be making me feel this way and what should I do next. Is it my bladder or something else? Or can I still have an infection or could the infections have damaged my bladder?
