Common Questions and Answers about What is celebrex used for

celebrex

Avatar n tn The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver. But I realize that they do have to get control over the swelling on her articulations.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
Avatar m tn I have been advised to take Celebrex or Topamax for headaches. Which treats headaches/migraines better? Which has had more success?
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
Avatar f tn I want all to know I am just starting Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Stopped the Enbrel, Plaquenil, Celebrex, muscle relaxers, Methotrexate and other meds, and am only taking my blood pressure meds, hormone therapy and this LDN! I am STRONGER, less fatigued, and am doing very well in many areas!! I just wanted all of you to realize this LDN is out there, it's available and works well for most of us.
Avatar f tn I have a close family memeber, (a nurse also) has taken Celebrex daily for a number of years. It is very effective for relieving her severe bi-lateral knee pain and she feels the benefits out weight the risks. She is 49. Celebrex may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke, which can be fatal. All nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may have a similar risk. This risk may increase with duration of use.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar f tn HAS anyone ever tried either of those for Osteoarthritis which is what I have in my knees and feet? if so please give me all the suggestions. I need to take something NON NARCOTIC and Ibuprophen isn't cutting it...nor is the Calcium, Magnesium Zinc combo Ive been on for 3 months now???? HELP!!!????
Avatar f tn CBD works for a few people I know but not for another, so that is another possibility if legal where you live.
Avatar m tn My symptoms of joint pain almost mirror yours. For years I just used Advil and it worked great, but they took me off of it as ibuprofen is hard on your liver. In twenty minutes all your joint pain is gone. Maybe your liver isn't as bad as mine. Check with your doc.
296875 tn?1217459623 Her legs and feet stay swollen 24/7, sometimes they will go down a bit but most of the time they are so swollen and painful that she cant walk for more than a couple minutes and when she can walk she is in tears from the pain and holding on to things. She cant sleep at night because she cant lay down because of the pain so she literally falls asleep in mid conversation, sitting on the couch, sitting on the toilet, standing at the sink doing dishes, where ever she is.
Avatar f tn I was on Celebrex for 15 months (I was on treatment for 18). The problem with Celebrex is that long term use can be hard on the heart.
1155483 tn?1262432647 Thanks very much for everyones input. It is much appreciated. I have been on the Toradol going into my third day and have had terrible headaches, stomach pain and occasional visual hallucinations (in the form of halos and dots in my field of view.) I will have a chat with my doc and see what we can do about a different treatment.
237152 tn?1206651036 There are several meds that were originally made for seizures and now are used for pain management. I forget the names of them right now but my wife is on one that works well for her, but didn't help me at all. Try it and see, is all I can say.
