Avatar f tn I am very concerned about the blood pressure and my resting heart rate is 54 to 60. It is not under any control at all. At times it has gone to 173 over 103, but normally about 148 to 160 over 83 to 96. I have clonidine left over from when I was given it several years ago when I had a problem and when I take it ..sometimes the blood pressure does go down to normal.
Avatar m tn Get off avalide. I have been extremely thirsty and have been off the drug 10days and still have the thirst. I am diabetic and sugars are betwwen 5 and 10 so I am good.
Avatar f tn Short term memory is affected also. I find myself sitting at my desk wondering what the heck I was doing and my attention span is very short. I haven't had any head injuries. No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...
Avatar m tn What is the reference range for the calcium and what is the exact level of PTH, with reference range? Your calcium seems to be slightly elevated, but that would depend on the reference range used by your lab. How often do you take the 50,000 iu of vitamin D? Maybe you need to take it more often?
Avatar m tn QUOTE esteem: "is this good that my diastolic keep going down with the medication however my top number doesn’t seem to go down very much? I also get the feeling that my doctor doesn’t seem 2 care much.. since its been two years now.. and its still not right??" What I see as possibly significant is pulse pressure and possibly a start to dx.. Pulse pressure is the difference between systole and diastole and normal is about 40 mg.
Avatar m tn Hello. I saw a sand like material in my urine this morning. I have seen this a few times before. What is this material? Should I be concerned? I was able to get sample. I have no pain, and I've seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.

Avatar m tn I’m 58 yrs old, 5 ft 10 in and 200 lbs. I’ve been taking Avalide 150/12.5 for pre-hypertension for 8 months. I exercise six times per week and have done so for years; weights twice each week and spinning/bike four times. Any thoughts, input would be appreciated.
492329 tn?1290883385 I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. However, my head aches the minute I more my ears ring to. He seems to think they are not connected. I'm really, really terrified! Oh and I had a heart cath in Oct 2008 all okay, but he did mention an S4 but said it would go away when the pressure comes down.
Avatar m tn The doctors have not been very helpful, except to scare me to death and cause confusion as to what I should do to correct this problem. The condition is most certainly caused from long term use of steroids. My life feels like it's falling apart because I am craving steroids now due to my stopping the steroids just 2 months ago. I need some advice on how to get my testoterone back to normal levels without damaging my heart any further.
492329 tn?1290883385 I've been on Atenolol 50mg and Avalide 150/12.5mg for 10 yrs. All of the sudden the Atenolol is making my heart rate drop too much and my cardio dropped it to 25mg (12.5mg in am/12.5mg in pm) and, of course, the palps/flutters started almost immediately. He believes it's anxiety and my GERD acting up!
Avatar n tn for probably close to 4 years now. My current primary care says it is just because I take verapamil for migraine prevention but don't have high blood pressure. This doesn't sound reasonable to me. I am 37 and wonder if I need a referral to a cardiologist.

Avatar n tn I have no idea what a bladder sphincter is, but maybe you could explain it to me. 822617 tn?1249596523 I have never posted a poll before. Hopefully this will work. I just wanted if anyone used preseed or preconceive or nothing and got a bfp. Thanks again for your replies!
Avatar m tn NO YOUR NOT!!!! More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress. Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?
Avatar n tn Well, its most common use is for anxiety - which is fairly common for people with ADHD. You can read more about it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propranolol What I don't understand is why your doctor didn't explain this to you. Especially if you are prone to anxiety, the not knowing only makes it worse.
