I am very concerned about the blood pressure and my resting heart rate is 54 to 60. It is not under any control at all. At times it has gone to 173 over 103, but normally about 148 to 160 over 83 to 96. I have clonidine left over from when I was given it several years ago when I had a problem and when I take it ..sometimes the blood pressure does go down to normal.
Get off avalide. I have been extremely thirsty and have been off the drug 10days and still have the thirst. I am diabetic and sugars are betwwen 5 and 10 so I am good.
Short term memory is affected also. I find myself sitting at my desk wondering what the heck I was doing and my attention span is very short. I haven't had any head injuries. No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...

What I see as possibly significant is pulse pressure and possibly a start to dx.. Pulse pressure is the difference between systole and diastole and normal is about 40 mg.
Hello. I saw a sand like material in my urine this morning. I have seen this a few times before. What is this material? Should I be concerned? I was able to get sample. I have no pain, and I've seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
The doctors have not been very helpful, except to scare me to death and cause confusion as to what I should do to correct this problem. I have no idea what a bladder sphincter is, but maybe you could explain it to me. The only other problem I have that I didn"t mention is when urinating , quite often I have a split stream. One stream goes where it's supposed to, and the goes down the front of my pants.I am taking high blood pressure medication - Avalide. Also I am taking vytorin , Foradil, and spirvia. More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress.
Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?
