Avatar m tn Docs have done many blood tests and say I have mild Diabetes and have me on Metamorphin I believe it is . It is very frustrating but sometimes I drink fluids until I am ready to burst. I am on Avalide for high BP but have talked to others with diabetes ( some on insulin ) and on BP meds and they drink nowhere near whay I do or feel thirsty all the time. My body weight can fluctuate as much as 10 lbs during the week ( daily 3-5 max ) .
Avatar f tn No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...I'm traveling alot and can't see him for another 2 weeks. Is this a problem I need to see someone about before then?
Avatar m tn put me on Avalide and I guess I just need to know, if I go to the gym and lift 300lbs on the bench, am I going to have a stroke? Heart attack? Am I crazy for continuing my regular weight lifting routine? Confused and Worried!
Avatar f tn Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide.
Avatar m tn Hello, I’ve had high blood pressure since I’ve been a teen quite stable at 160/80 I’m now 27 years old and have been on medication for 2 years now… I started with avopro 150mg I went down to about 145/70, then they changed my medication to avalide 300/12.
Avatar m tn ve seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
492329 tn?1290883385 I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. However, my head aches the minute I more my ears ring to. He seems to think they are not connected. I'm really, really terrified! Oh and I had a heart cath in Oct 2008 all okay, but he did mention an S4 but said it would go away when the pressure comes down.
Avatar m tn I’m 58 yrs old, 5 ft 10 in and 200 lbs. I’ve been taking Avalide 150/12.5 for pre-hypertension for 8 months. I exercise six times per week and have done so for years; weights twice each week and spinning/bike four times. Any thoughts, input would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn ve been on Lopressor for years to keep my heart rate down and Avalide for blood pressure. Then in November, my arrthymia worsen. So after about 6 weeks of playing with my Lopressor dosage, my doctor cut the lopressor and put me on Cardizem which is a calcium channel blocker like verapamil. My heart rate became much worse...very rapid like around 120-140....after 3 days of this, I begged to get back on Lopressor so we did and it's back to how it was ...no better no worse....
492329 tn?1290883385 I've been on Atenolol 50mg and Avalide 150/12.5mg for 10 yrs. All of the sudden the Atenolol is making my heart rate drop too much and my cardio dropped it to 25mg (12.5mg in am/12.5mg in pm) and, of course, the palps/flutters started almost immediately. He believes it's anxiety and my GERD acting up!
Avatar f tn Unless you have extensive family history of breast, colon, or ovarian cancer your risk for cancer is low. 95% of cysts are benign.
1243333 tn?1296446902 Thanks, they have tried Hydrochloride, Toprol-XL ,aliskiren Oral Tablet ,Clonidine pill, HCTZ Lisinopril, Avapro, Avalide, & Bystolic I had allergic reactions to the lisinopril and one of the others and not sure why they switched me from a couple of the others, Thanks so much, Babs
681148 tn?1437661591 My cousins are related through both sets of parents, so my risk is the same as theirs is of developing this rare form of breast cancer. They are more closely related than ordinary first cousins, since they are double first cousins. The symptoms I've had myself recently had me frightened. I'm glad I had the mammogram, so my anxiety level is greatly reduced now that I know nothing abnormal showed up in the test.
Avatar n tn t have a history that looks scary for ovarian cancer. Most ovarian cancer is not genetic and happens for unknown reasons. Because of this I recommend thorough annual exams and be aware of the symptoms of ovca. Also pay attention closely to your own body. If something does not seem right, do not ignore it. Good luck to you.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. Fingering is safe. STDs are not acquired or transmitted by hand-genital fingering or other hand-genital contact. If that's your only exposure, there is no risk. A theoretical argument can be made that HPV may occasionally be transmitted in this manner. There are no proved cases, but it may explain the rare cases of genital HPV that are sometimes detected in technical virgins.
Avatar n tn You have a high risk of developing breast cancer based on the strong family history. The risk of developing breast cancer by age 70 is about 45% to 87% for those with BRCA1 mutations while it is about 26% to 84% for those with BRCA2 mutations. Since you are at risk, you may undergo genetic testing. It is very important also to modify lifestyle, exercise, and have a regular consultation with your doctor. Hope this helps.

Avatar f tn HPV is the causitive factor for cervical cancer, however having HPV does not mean a person will develop cervical cancer (or for that matter any ill-effects from it). High risk HPV, are the strains of HPV that have the potential to cause cervical (and/or vaginal/vulva etc.) cancer. Low risk HPV has the potential to cause genital warts.
Avatar f tn Studies in Japan and Sweden also have shown lower risk among vegetarians. It seems that with every bite of meat, we increase our risk of cancer. Luckily, we can eliminate animal products from our diets and replace them with vegetable proteins that can protect our health instead of harm it. Dr. T. Colin Campbell, arguably the foremost epidemiological researcher alive today, argues that animal proteins are the prime carcinogen in meat and dairy products. Says Dr.
Avatar f tn and cancer is then detected, it has rarely progressed to a point that carries any danger. It is only invasive cancer that presents any important health risk, not simply the presence of cancerous cells ("carcinoma in situ") -- and the average time from CIS to invasive cancer is several years, providing an additional margin of safety. Finally, the pap guidelines (in both the UK and more recently in the US) also take into account patients' ages.
