Docs have done many blood tests and say I have mild Diabetes and have me on Metamorphin I believe it is . It is very frustrating but sometimes I drink fluids until I am ready to burst. I am on Avalide for high BP but have talked to others with diabetes ( some on insulin ) and on BP meds and they drink nowhere near whay I do or feel thirsty all the time. My body weight can fluctuate as much as 10 lbs during the week ( daily 3-5 max ) .
No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...I'm traveling alot and can't see him for another 2 weeks. Is this a problem I need to see someone about before then?
Recently I was given biaxin by my family doctor not aware of the possible interaction and I began to retain after only two of them. Since then I have not been able to get my blood pressure under control again. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide.
Hello, I’ve had high blood pressure since I’ve been a teen quite stable at 160/80 I’m now 27 years old and have been on medication for 2 years now… I started with avopro 150mg I went down to about 145/70, then they changed my medication to avalide 300/12.
ve seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
I’m 58 yrs old, 5 ft 10 in and 200 lbs. I’ve been taking Avalide 150/12.5 for pre-hypertension for 8 months. I exercise six times per week and have done so for years; weights twice each week and spinning/bike four times. Any thoughts, input would be appreciated.
blood pressure has been up and down for the last 20 yrs taking avalide 12.5 and diltiazem 360 mgs ,but now i go on this medication terazasin only 2 mg and blood pressure goes to normal .thank you .doe anyone know why vitamin d will not come up to normal

ve been on Lopressor for years to keep my heart rate down and Avalide for blood pressure. Then in November, my arrthymia worsen. So after about 6 weeks of playing with my Lopressor dosage, my doctor cut the lopressor and put me on Cardizem which is a calcium channel blocker like verapamil. My heart rate became much worse...very rapid like around 120-140....after 3 days of this, I begged to get back on Lopressor so we did and it's back to how it was ...no better no worse....
Fda, getting movin! I have already written to my senators congressional rep , people will decompensate and probably die while we are waiting for sofo/ledip/sime.
put me on Avalide and I guess I just need to know, if I go to the gym and lift 300lbs on the bench, am I going to have a stroke? Heart attack? Am I crazy for continuing my regular weight lifting routine?
Confused and Worried!
s supposed to, and the goes down the front of my pants.I am taking high blood pressure medication - Avalide. Also I am taking vytorin , Foradil, and spirvia. I drink a lot water at night because my mouth is so dry, from the last two items.I work every day and have had a very active sex life. (never been on coumadin or heparin) I am 74 years old and also take Nexium, Crestor, Avalide 150/12.5, Lopressor, 50,000mg of D3 daily, Synthroid for 3 thyroid nodules and Hashimoto's..(TSH is in the 3-8 range) I take .375 Bayer daily for sinus headaches and advil for knee arthritis. I have a high Parathyroid Level (serum) but normal calcium. Parathyroid adenoma is seen on Nuclear studies. My BNP is always in the 40-45 range. Have some asthma and use albuterol inhaler when needed.
Daily visits to selected websites, subscriptions to selected scientific and medical podcast as well as my monthly magazines such as Nature, Scientific American, Physics Today, Science Magazine and Science Readers. respirate just convinced me to add the FDA website into my dailies.
What is good with technology these days is that you can be very selective regarding the kind of information you want to get and newspapers make me angry for some reasons that are totally personal.
s , Taking low dose aspirin daily and a diruretic (off of Avalide for blood pressure) and take 1/4 of a 0.5mg of klonopin 2 times a day(am/pm) for the anxiety from this experience. Am presently wearing a Holter monitor for PVC's for 10 days to see if PVC's are a serious problem.. Learning to not be scared and trying to live each day as it comes. Working with a Doc that actually gives a darn.
I am 60 next week, had high controlled BP since I was 25, normally 123/71 with resting pulse of 56-63. I take Avalide 300/12.5 and was taking atenolol 12.5 a day until I was in the mountains where I have another home and it raised my BP and lowered my pulse to almost 41 resting. (Again, I ride an exercise bike forty minutes a day) I am a licensed professional and the LVH thing has me worried as if I have to I may need to have a GXT and a Holter 24 hour monitor.
