I am very concerned about the blood pressure and my resting heart rate is 54 to 60. It is not under any control at all. At times it has gone to 173 over 103, but normally about 148 to 160 over 83 to 96. I have clonidine left over from when I was given it several years ago when I had a problem and when I take it ..sometimes the blood pressure does go down to normal.

Get off avalide. I have been extremely thirsty and have been off the drug 10days and still have the thirst. I am diabetic and sugars are betwwen 5 and 10 so I am good.

Short term memory is affected also. I find myself sitting at my desk wondering what the heck I was doing and my attention span is very short. I haven't had any head injuries. No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...

I’m 58 yrs old, 5 ft 10 in and 200 lbs. I’ve been taking Avalide 150/12.5 for pre-hypertension for 8 months. I exercise six times per week and have done so for years; weights twice each week and spinning/bike four times. Any thoughts, input would be appreciated.

I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. What is the reference range for the calcium and what is the exact level of PTH, with reference range? Your calcium seems to be slightly elevated, but that would depend on the reference range used by your lab. How often do you take the 50,000 iu of vitamin D? Maybe you need to take it more often?

I've been on Atenolol 50mg and Avalide 150/12.5mg for 10 yrs. All of the sudden the Atenolol is making my heart rate drop too much and my cardio dropped it to 25mg (12.5mg in am/12.5mg in pm) and, of course, the palps/flutters started almost immediately. He believes it's anxiety and my GERD acting up!

Can anyone tell me what Symbyax is and what effects it has on you? I have been on disability for two years and the insurance company video taped me pushing a grocery cart and lifting a bag of potatoes and canceled my policy. I had no restrictions. Long story short, I am in chronic pain and on heavy pain meds so my doc took me out of work Right now I have ZERO income and happen to have a dr's appointment today and when I saw my PCP I broke down. He gave me samples of this Symbyax.

it works just a little too well. It is prescribed for pilots who ahve to be alert for up to 36-48 hours...and it does just that. Brent really dislikes taking it but it's preferable to lying in bed all day. He takes a half and that about sends him thru the roof....but, it does get him up. You can always try it..take a quarter (50mgs) and see how that goes. Better than lying in bed..I agree with that comment! BTW, Brent is on week 71 of an 84 week TX. Somedays he just needs the boost.

I took this medication as prescribed. 1, twice a day for 3 days. I had my last pill with dinner yesterday. But the infection is still causing a small amout of pain during urination. And I am still experiencing pains in my abdomen. Is this normal? Normally when I take medication, I feel better before I'm even done the pills. This infection came on suddenly, and got worse by the hour until I took the second pill. My urine is still quite dark, but I know this is a side effect of the medication.

This is not a new pain treatment. Amitriptyline has been prescribed for years to relieve pain that is suspected to have a neuropathic component. I too am glad that it is working for you. NO YOUR NOT!!!! More than likely the reason for your high blood pressure is due to the alcohol, and stress that you been under for the last 2 years. It's hard I know to realize what is coming first, the alcohol or the stress. Go back to your Dr's and explain (if you can) what is going on - they are here to help us. As for your panic attacks, do they come on after or before your drinking?
