It should only be used in case of life threatening allergic reaction. Epipen is known to be associated with shaking esp. when the larger doses are taken. You should not take more than recommended dose; otherwise you may land up in complication. This is due to stimulation of the muscles. Hence, epipen should be better used under doctor's observation.
If you are allergic to water following measures will help you-
- Stay away from water as long as possible.
- Avoid going in rain outside.
I have some serious allergies and often they close my throat. I live 20 minutes from the nearest doctor or hospital. Until recently I always felt safe because I could use an epipen and that would give me time to get help. But now I have been diagnosed with about 8000 PVCs a day, and was told by another sufferer that I shouldn't use an epipen anymore, that it's not a good idea for those with PVCs.
m understanding is correct, you will see your doctor in 2 weeks, for a check up, they will draw blood and it would be another 2 weeks before you'd go back to get results, which means that you might actually be 4 weeks out from a med adjustment. This is how my previous doctor used to operate. Am I somewhere near correct?
If this is right, you might want to ask if you can go get the blood draw now, so when you go for your check up in 2 weeks, they will already have results.
Yes, notify your MD that you are having this. Allergic reactions tend to get worse, so he/she needs to know.
The other day my friend had a major asthma attack that almost sent him to the ER-- he thankfully had an epipen nearby. He thinks what triggered it was a laxative (sennosides in pill form) he took a couple of hours before. Is this even possible? And if so, should he be avoiding all things laxative? I wouldn't be asking these questions here, but he is too stubborn to go to a doctor like he should.
I went out last night and was having a good time, I normally carry an epipen for my anaphylactic allergies but haven't had allergies for two years, I'm only Allergic to latex and bananas. Just wondering what an ultrasound might be used for as opposed to a diagnostic mammogram? Is one procedure better at diagnosing certain things and the other procedure better for other things? I've always read that ultrasounds are not really used to identify calcifications, but mainly to look for cysts, solid masses, etc.
Wondering why he felt an ultrasound was necessary. Do some masses show up on ultrasounds that aren't picked up on mammograms?
No facial numbness but extreme dizziness and breathing difficulty. I have an epipen but have never used it. Does anyone know of a common allergy to food additives or preservatives. I have to eat out a good bit for my business and am getting very nervous about eating in restaurants. How can I narrow down what is causing these problems?
I am waiting on the skin biopsy results to see if that is the diagnosis. This is not encouraging to me. I really was hoping for a food allergy...something I can intentionally avoid. Now I can't even figure out what triggers my "episodes". I seem to react highly to cinnamon and definitely try to avoid that.
I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
