Common Questions and Answers about Weekly fetal development ultrasound pictures

fetal-development

Avatar f tn it is written on the ultrasound pictures. I supposed based on the fetal size, a statistic to check if they are growing normally.
Avatar f tn So I was scheduled another ultrasound today I should be 8 to 9 weeks since lmp we seen a larger sac, about 8 weeks 3 days, a shadow of a yolk sac, but nothing else. No heartbeat. No signs of a fetus or fetal pole. After the first ultrasound, I was told there was not enough development to determine viability. Again, 10 days later, same story, but sac growth. I just want to see if anyone else has dealt with something like this.
511778 tn?1222823285 At our last u/s, @ 34.5 weeks, our u/s tech showed us baby's face; she just looked right at the u/s probe. It looked frighteningly ugly. I am trying to console myself by the fact that it was 2D and that many u/s pix look kind of weird. You have to take into account that your baby is basically floating in liquid and all squished.
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done at what I thought was 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac was seen but no fetal heart or fetal pole seen, and a repeat ultrasound to be done 10 days from then. Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.

Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn It sounds like the doctor wants to do what's called a biophysical profile (BPP). There are many reasons to want this type of ultrasound done weekly so I can't say why specifically your doctor wants it done. Some of the common reasons are: -high risk pregnancy -amniotic fluid concerns -multiple pregnancy And the list goes on... A BPP basically checks the overall well being of the baby. At the end, baby should receive a score of 8/8.
Avatar n tn Choroid plexus cyst From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Choroid plexus cyst Classification and external resources ICD-10 G93.0 ICD-9 348.0 Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain.
9663463 tn?1407525554 A BPP is an ultrasound to evaluate fetal well-being. Four aspects checked...."breathing", movement, tone, and amniotic fluid index. Each gets 2 points and must be seen within 30 minutes. Many reasons to do a BPP. To many to list. Done in the 3rd trimester and usually 1x per week.
Avatar f tn This am, the dr said she saw a large gestational sac, but no fetal pole. She sent me for a 2nd ultrasound over at the hospital. The did both the stomach and transvaginal type, and they saw a gestational sac measuring 8.2 days, and embryo measuring 6.3, but no heartbeat. They were going to evaluate more closely the ultrasound pics and refer back to my OB/GYN. I am waiting to hear what their final conclusion is. It has been 9 weeks since the start of my lmp.
1133565 tn?1261315212 i went for my first scan 2 days ago where i found out i was 6 weeks and 4 days. the docter never told me the rate of the heartbeat but did show me on the screen. 'my baby' measured 8mm at this stage is that normal? because ev everyone im speaking to says it is far too big and should be around 5mm.
5194006 tn?1380819887 I know when I called they said they wanted to do a few test on me also sense I used to be a patient there, so I have a feeling its gonna be a long appointment, but I want to make sure that my baby girl is ok. Did you get pictures during the ultrasound or no?
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear this. I had never heard of this and did some research. This is what I found. Hope it helps and prayers for you && the little one :) CPCs can form within this structure and come from fluid trapped within this spongy layer of cells, much like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are often called "soft signs" or fetal ultrasound "markers" because some studies have found a weak association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities.
Avatar f tn i had my doctors appointment today the doc afformed me i was 6wks 3days today at the time of my first ultra sound i was approx 5wk 5days no heartbeat only yolk sak and development begfining so the doc said this was normal and heartbeats are usually detected in wk six or even wk seven the nurse tried to say there may only ever be a yolk sac and no bub but the doc and the lady who performed the ultrasound said no heartbeat or fetal pole can be normal at the early stage of five wks now im confused
1287128 tn?1331134538 Had my ultrasound and found out i'm 6 weeks three days.. Very confused now.. they were wondering about twins because of my rapidly growing hCG. He only saw one sac he said he saw what looked like a fetal pole it was very hard to see anything.. i'm just confused i don't think i had an ultrasound this early with my other two.. anyways..
Avatar f tn I'm currently 30 weeks and 6 days and I have two sets of ultrasound pictures. I have 5 3D/4D pictures and I paid nothing nor did. I request them. And there is no issues no problems or nothing wit the baby or me.
Avatar n tn So if you are only 5 weeks it sounds like your development is very good seeing both a fetal pole and hb. Did he mention what the heartrate was?? I am not sure what the "likely" fetal pole means because if there is a heartbeat then there is definitely a fetal pole there!! The hcg values vary so much that it seems it would be hard to gauge development by the hcg level except that they say you won't see anything on u/s until you are over 1000 or so. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn is important to fetal lung development. The fetus gets all of its oxygen and nutrients through the placenta and umbilical cord---a process called fetal circulation. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar f tn Week 6 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 4 weeks) 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. This pole structure actually has some curve to it with the embryo’s head at one end and what looks like a tail at the other end. The fetal pole now allows for crown to rump measurements (CRL) to be taken, so that pregnancy dating can be a bit more accurate.
Avatar f tn It can be too early. At 6 weeks all they could see for me was the fetal pole and yolk sac. It is still very early, did they book another ultrasound or bloodwork?
623156 tn?1322865851 For women Zinc helps cell divsion which is critical to the earliest stages of conception and fetal development. For men it helps with adequate levels of testosterone and sperm counts. Research has shown with 15 mgs a day in men it can increase semen and testosterone production, in women it can help ovulation and fertility. Natural resources of Zinc are fish, oysters, crab, turkey, chicken and beef.
Avatar m tn i went in and they said according to my last menstral cycle i was 7 wks... then i had an ultra sound and it showed me being only 5 wks and no sign on an emryo so i went back 10 days later and the ultra sound showed me being 6 wks 3 days and there was an embryo as well as my babys heartbeat! so... im guessing you are just right at 6 wks if you are even that far bc my dr said you wont see a heartbeat until atleast 6 wks 3 days and possibly not even that soon!!
4444857 tn?1383325813 Are you taking pictures weekly? Yes, please post a picture. :) 33 weeks sounds good to me too.
