If you get the epidural and end up tearing or needing to be cut, there's a chance you'll feel your doctor stitching you. I had to get it (unfortunately) and it had wore off towards the end. I felt every stitch. Good luck though, it's not as bad as it seems.
are any of you getting any certain type of pain reliever during labor and birth?? im thinking the epidural.. cause he said he will have to cut me and i dont want to feel that is there anything else that works about the same? he told me about a saddle block but it just numbs around the vagina and cervix and idk the difference because idk what all the epidural numbs i cant have the spinal tap cause im planning to give birth vaginally any body have opinions ??
Which OTC pain relievers a person can take depends on how advanced your liver disease is. Their is no blanket answer that covers everyone.
Your gastro or hepatologist is your best source of information related to your health status and your liver disease. Therefore they are in the best position to tell you what you can do or not due during treatment.

t know how warfarin is affecting your life style. I have been on warfarin for years and had no concerns about running and bike riding, and using power wood working tools. All of these activities puts one at an increased risk of a cut and bleeding, but I simply take the risk. On the other hand, I don't sky dive, or pick fights ....
I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed Plaquenil and naproxen (for swelling and pain relief.) I am on a low sodium diet for meniere's disease. Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? I have read the sodium in pain relievers help to quicken relief of pain......

Most people still don’t know about this risk and don’t realize that acetaminophen is in hundreds of OTC cold, allergy and headache products and some prescription pain relievers. Check labels for acetaminophen, and don’t take more than 4 grams—equal to eight Extra Strength Tylenol tab--lets—a day from all sources. Alcohol (three drinks or more at a time) and certain other drugs increase the risk. Heavy drinkers and those with liver disease should limit, acetaminophen.
Given that yesterday he said to not take the warfarin he was changing me from the genertic warfarin and putting me on the brand name of the med coumadin. Said some folks do not tolerate warfarin well but do well on coumadin and i am to start the coumadin today. I would be lying if i didn't say i am a bit gunshy at this point. This med has made me absolutely miserable and today is my 43rd bday...
My mother had gone through a sleeve gastrectomy operation 3 weeks ago. On the 22nd post-operative day, due to severe pain in the epigastric zone, her doctor ordered an abdominal CT. It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery.
Seven months ago I had a pulmonary embolism and I am told this may have been the second one.I am taking 7 mg of warfarin a day and my INR is 2.5.I had a liver transplant 10 months ago,and was told my vascular system was not great.Given my overall situation I am concerned about heart attacks and strokes.Do you think I should be taking 75mg of aspirin a day as well as the warfarin?Thanks.
After my valve was replaced I had atrial fibrillation and was put on Warfarin. As well as muscle pain I began to get pains in my joints as well as muscles. I again stopped the statins and the muscle pains subsided but the joint pains increased as my warfarin dosage was increased.
A second cardioversion cured my atrial fibrillation and the surgeon said that I could stop warfarin after being in sinus rhythm for six months.
Johnycat, thanks for your comments, but Xarelto is not approved for mechanical heart valve patients such as myself or Dream_ers's father. Plavix is sometimes given to mech valve patients, but when it is, it's used as an adjunct to warfarin and not as a substitute for it. Xarelto, not at all.
Sorry you had so many problems with warfarin.
She has been on warfarin and monitors it regularly. She also has past history endometriosis and has always had heavy periods and problems with her periods. She also has uterine fibroids that have been giving her problems, even more so since the warfarin. Between the uterine fibroids and the warfarin, her menses are extremely heavy. She is on iron because she tends to be anemic around her period. Her periods are so heavy that she can go through 4-6 large pads an hour, sometimes more.
I appreciate your concerns about your grandmother and I agree that the pain needs to be investigated. Usually knee locking and pain after total knee replacement is due to formation of fibrous tissue around the patella. Rarely, it is due to blocked or pinched popliteal artery that runs along the back of knee.
Ladies, I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I have terrible back and leg pain. The pain starts on my lower back and goes down the legs and on my hips it's getting harder to sleep and walk. I know it's normal but I didn't expact it to be so bad so early. I go swimming once a week and my dr sent me to therapy but it's still the same. Sometimes I feel the pain in my lower abdomen and I have to walk really slow. How do you manage this pain?
I slow down enough for the discomfort to go subside and keep efforts on the low side to avoid having that pain. Once into the cycling session, I can increase efforts, but can feel that level upper chest discomfort. Now and then, just before it's time to take the Warfarin meds, I notice an irregular heart beat, say, every sixth beat is slightly delayed. Warfarin brochures indicate irregular heart beat and upper chest discomfort as possible side effects.
28 weeks here and I've had constant back pain since I fount out I was pregnant and it's only getting worse.
I believe it could be a FATAL mistake if you stopped taking the warfarin. Mechanical valves will clot without warfarin and this could cause a heart attack, stroke or heart failure and could cause you to have to have another open heart surgery. PLEASE ,PLEASE talk to your doctor about any changes in the warfarin.
