vytorin

Avatar m tn If serious liver injury with clinical symptoms and/or hyperbilirubinemia or jaundice occurs during treatment with Vytorin, promptly interrupt therapy. If an alternate etiology is not found do not restart Vytorin. Note that ALT may emanate from muscle, therefore ALT rising with CK may indicate myopathy [see Warnings and Precautions (5.1)]. Vytorin should be used with caution in patients who consume substantial quantities of alcohol and/or have a past history of liver disease.
Avatar m tn I switched from Zocor to Vytorin around Oct 2004. Zocor no longer worked for me. Around the first of March, I began experiencing a lot of lower abdominal pain and flu-like symptoms for several days. The last day of what turned out to be the first episode, my left leg became useless. A month later, I had similar symptoms. This time, at 8:45 a.m., I checked my blood sugar and blood pressure. Both were around 180. A few days later, both returned to normal.
Avatar m tn Reading the many comments I came across one that stated lovastatin is an old medicine and is not used often. After recent cath my doctor changed my medication from vytorin ,have taken vytorin for 5 years, to lovastatin. I did ask for a cheaper medicine and lovastatin was what he came with. I have no problems or side effects . My question is lovastatin less effective then other of the same and if not why is it not used often. My engineering background comes out if I d not have proper data.
Avatar f tn t do very good job of controlling my blood pressure (it fluctuated highly ranged from 80-50 to 165-110). Then, the doctor added Atenolol 25mg in addition to Lisinopril 20mg. So I take both Lisinopril 20mg in the morning and 25mg Atenolol daily. But suddenly I started experiencing falling due to legs losing all their strength and I just fall and have to crawl for help. Legs do not hurt or anything, they just lose strength. So with arms.

Avatar n tn I have IBS with diarrhea. My family doctor gave me Vytorin and it caused ONE HORRIBLE bout with the diarrea. So, my question is: Should people with IBS not take Vytorin? If the answer is: No,they shouldn't,then why do you think this side effect is not listed on the pamphlet that comes with the drug.....or any where else?!
Avatar f tn Vytorin is a statin that lowers LDL and raises HDL. I believe Vytorin is a combination of Zetia and Zocor. I am not sure if the Vytorin will go with the Niaspam so you will need to ask your doctor that.
Avatar f tn i was taking vytorin and plavix when i was told i have cll .
Avatar m tn , 165 lbs, eat well (no red meat or pork, little dairy, etc), and active. My chol is excellent all around (thanks to 10mg of vytorin). Total chol was 215 before, 135 after. My dad had a heart attack at 49, second at 73, he is now 82. I went for stress test and echo last week. Dr said stress was great but he saw a very small calcium deposit on lining of heart muscle, not near arteries. He was not overly concerned and said we just need to watch it during next year's test.
Avatar m tn Someone suggested that I consider inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin, I was taken off of Benicar two months ago because of the back pain and an elevated CPK 200's. Recent blood test revealed my cholesterol at 118 but my CPK at 205 and still experiencing lower back back pain. My blood pressure is 110/70 to 120/80. No prior hart problems. Do you think I should consider this image screening?
Avatar f tn As my mother also has issues controling hers. He has prescribed Vytorin for me. I did do the full lipid panel and the HDL was 48 and LDL was above 150. I did check glucose level and it was ok. I have been making great efforts to sticking to my diet. Oatmeal for breakfast and no beaf, pork or shellfish. Fish at least twice per week and lots of protein from beans. I rarely eat eggs. As to exercise.
Avatar n tn Over the past 12 years or so I have taken Lipitor, Pravachol and, when 200mg total Cholesterol wasn't good enough anymore, Vytorin, which brought it down to 160. But, at the end of all that about two years ago I wound up in the ER with severe kidney problems. The doctors said, don't worry about it, just muscle pains and sent me home.

1145691 tn?1291478338 Hey, IDK about in the states, but if anyone is from Canada, the Nestle Baby website is giving away a free babybag that comes with a changing pad, a sample pack for some goodstart formula, coupons and a magazine. All you have to do is sign up. A friend of mine brought over her niece today and showed me the bag.
645800 tn?1466860955 Been choking down 800mg gabapentins for a while now. They're scored; I could cut them in two, but they'd still be the same width, just half the length. They'd have rough corners then, too. Hey, Dennis, would they let you use Vytorin? It's worked super for my cholesterol. My insurance company puts it in the highest category, meaning I have to pay my highest copay rate, but it's still largely covered. No generic yet. Just a thought. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I am taking Inderal for migraines, Vytorin for high cholesterol, and Metformin for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
Avatar n tn I am sooooo exhausted not sure if it is from Vytorin or Lisinopril but have been on a ton of them and they all make me tired or cause me muscle pain or some other side effect. My doctor said that you need to stay on them for a while and then your blood pressure should regulate and the horrible side effects should go away after a few weeks.......we will see! Good Luck!
Avatar m tn Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Hep B, I'm on Baraclude now, and have been on Crestor (Rosuvastatin ) for the last 10 years. If it's better for me to change to Simvastatin (Zocor, Vytorin), I'm all for it, but want to know if there's evidence out there. I've only found mention of one study that wrapped last year, but no results from it. Any info will be appreciated.
