Avatar f tn Whatever gets you through the day, but don't overdue NSAIDS. They all have side effects, and you will absorb some of it into your body. But for occasional use, it's not going to be a problem.
Avatar f tn I use it for the muscle spasms in my shoulders. It helps the inflammation, which lessens the pain. I wish it worked for my neck pain, it does not touch that pain whatsoever.
Avatar n tn Voltaren Gel is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, commonly known as NSAIDs. It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Voltaren Topical Gel is used to treat joint pain in the hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, or feet caused by osteoarthritis. This medication is for pain.
Avatar f tn The pharmacy here in Sweden sells it over the counter, so it should be over the counter everywhere (virtually EVERYthing needs a prescription here, and if Voltaren Gel doesn't, then it should be available everywhere). Google Voltaren Gel and see if you can find it at an online pharmacy, if you can't find it near you. You might even try MSM powder, dissolved in oil or aloe vera gel, and massaged in. Jarrow has a good quality product (many are not good - especially those from China).
Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
Avatar f tn s a voltaren gel that is good for rubbing over the joint that may give you relief. For some, OTC ibuprofen is as effective as the more expensive prescription NSAIDs, like Voltaren. The steroid injection may offer immediate relief.
880900 tn?1467270141 my rheumie prescribed and it has helped for muscle pain, joints (knee shoulder neck elbow) and it does seem to help. The gel doesnt cause as much problems for me which is great. It also is a godsend as I cant take nsaids aspirin, etc as I am on bloodthinners.
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar f tn I have suffered with BRP for many years and tried all the remedies mentioned in the comments. Some offer limited relief but there is no cure. I also suffer with chronic back pain for which I use a topical pain cream. My arms were itching so badly one day that I smeared the pain cream all over my arms. The itching stopped; of course it came back but I just added more cream. The BRP is Maddening...but the pain cream helps.
230262 tn?1316645934 I was just given Voltaren Gel(diclofenac sodium topical get 1%) for my neck pain(spinal cord nerve damage) and muscle spasms in my shoulders. I've been using it for the past few days and it has worked wonders for the pain in my shoulders. It comes in pill form too and it is geared for arthritis and pain. I was surprised how quickly it reduced my shoulder pain.
Avatar f tn It was a gel though, I only got it on my hands for about a minute. I didn't take a pill.
Avatar n tn You can also put some Voltaren gel on your neck/shoulder area where the muscle pain is. Hope you get better soon!
Avatar f tn I had surgery 3 months ago to remove a vagal schwannoma and some enlarged lymph nodes from in the left side of my neck. For the first two months I was completely numb from my earlobe to the bottom of my neck on the right side of the incision. This past month I've had some odd sensations, like itching but when I go to scratch I can't feel it and some tingling on and off. But the worst is the stabbing pain that comes and goes. My doctor says this means it's healing...
Avatar f tn I have been having a lot of pain in my neck for which I went to physical therapy for. It helped some but the pain comes back priodically. My C6 & C7 are showing signs of being degeneratve. I have been having discomfort in all of my joints but the most pain is in my right elbow. At times I cannot even extend it to is full length without pain shooting up and down my arm. I have also been told I have onset of carpel tunnel.
Avatar n tn I went to my Internist who prescriped 2 creams. Voltaren Gel 1% is 1 of the creams and the other cream is Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.025% After using the creams for 1 1/2 days my neck and face is worse. The burning got worse and I have big round red blotches on my cheeks with scaling rough skin with patches. It still itches and I reuse to use the creams again. I am supposed to use these creams a few times a day. I did that the first 2 days.
Avatar f tn hmmm....that's what I'm worried about with it. Definately not what I want to find out on my trip. :) I will try it, but jumpy is not what I want to add to my anxiety issues! I also ready that Cymbalta helps with Dopamine and Savella doesn't. And my understanding is that Dopamine helps with pain. Interesting. Sara - I will definately keep you posted on my experience with it. Have you tried Voltaren Gel? I love it!!
Avatar f tn does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.
Avatar m tn I can certainly see that worry about the incision in the front of the neck. I already have been advised about the shots (nerve blocks) but my physician said that they don't work all the time. I then asked about surgery and she said only as a last resort. Apparently I will still be on all of these meds even with surgery. I guess I will never get my quality of life back to where it was.
1998155 tn?1327298656 ), perhaps you should try voltaren gel. It is an anti-inflammatory gel that you rub at the source of the pain 4 times a day. I have found it to be much more helpful than I ever imagined it would be and it works a lot better than oral NSAIDs. It saves your stomach from irritation as well. Best of luck.
Avatar n tn Have been perscribed Diclofenac (the generic for Voltaren), an anti-inflammatory drug for my back problem. Has anyone any experience with this drug? Or any knowledge whether anti-inflammatory drugs, in general, can cause palpitations or AFIB? Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!
3112530 tn?1434032033 I also use Voltaren gel which help bring down the pain level at least one notch and that has been beneficial for me. I hope my feedback helps from my experiences but education into learning about my condition and researching to find a specialist was key for me and I advise the research for all that are interested in learning about their condition.
