vivelle-dot

Avatar f tn I had a TAH two weeks ago and started on vivelle dot. My gyn says I dont need progesterone cream, but I am reading otherwise....Does anyone know if I can get it over the counter or does it require a RX?? Just wondering, because if I need it, I want it!
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy in October 2009, I was put on the vivelle-dot patch. I'm on the lowest dose (0.05mg). I change the patch twice a week. I had my yearly mamogram (which has always been normal). I picked up the report today and it says: Findings: Dense and hetergenous breast parenchyma is again observed with minor asymmetry.
Avatar f tn Does this put me at a higher risk level for breast cancer? I know I am probably overanalyzing this but it is very bothersome. I am scheduled for the (Open) Excisional biopsy next month.
Avatar n tn Yes, except for the tingling in arms, I get it in my hands, I had my ovaries out 6 weeks ago so I was thrown into full blown menopause, lost of interest in just about everything, tired, moody, plugged up the bath tub with hair loss when I washed my hair, I went for my post op check up and Dr, explained to me for a long time abou bio identical hormone replacemnet, he sold me on it, right now Im using Vivelle dot its a really small patch you put on either your belly or hip.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar f tn Hi I don't know how much this will help but I am coming from having hormone replacement to trying to get off of it and it's horrible. I am calling my doctor in the morning to start going back up. I had a hysterectomy when I was 26 and have been on premerin all these years. DO NOT get on premerin not matter what. It is a terrible drug. It worked for me for years but for other reasons I will not take it and nobody should. I am on Vivelle Dot.
Avatar f tn must be hormonal related which can be frustrating but can be fixed..I am personally a fan of the vivelle dot..its a patch used 2 x per week its helped me alot..its also suposed to be good for preventing bone density loss...I find your situation intersting..let me know how it goes...best wishes and happy new year !!!
Avatar f tn Could this be caused by the patch losing effectiveness before the week is up? Would switching to Vivelle Dot, which has a twice a week schedule, help prevent the bleeding?
Avatar f tn which was the decision i made Im 46 I now use estrogen replacement a vivelle dot patch very easy and accurate..no hot flashes no crazy normal sex drive....if you was in you 20s it may be different ..I strongly advise you to remove them ..and never ever have to worry about ovarian cancer.

7649183 tn?1393014236 Hi, I had a hysterectomy years ago and have been taking the estradiol pill for years. I started recently using the patch since I thought it would be better for my liver and a more natural way to get the estrogen. I'm doing this to protect again osteoporosis. I take Vivelle-Dot lowest dose--.025. I feel fine, but my breasts are sore. They never were when taking the estradiol pill--.05/day.

Avatar f tn I'm almost 60 years old and have been experiencing severe hot flashes for years. A couple years ago I was put on 0.05mg Vivelle-dot patches. I'm still having the flashes. My forehead, especially, sweats a lot wetting my bangs completely! Would going on a higher dose of Vivelle stop the hot flashes? I want to keep on bioidentical-type remedies and wondered if something else included/instead of would do the trick. I'd greatly appreciate help!

901431 tn?1242066034 thanks for your imput, I was on estrace but caused a rash so he had me get on Vivelle dot patched, what is timed bd ? and which meds did you not use ?
Avatar m tn I won't say that you are too young for breast cancer BUT it would certainly be a one in a million chance so let's put that aside. May I ask what "Grey's Anatomy" has to do with you thinking that you might have Breast Cancer. It's a TV Show ... !! Now to your little black "dot" .. this isn't a symptom of Breast Cancer. Some changes in moles on parts of the body can be a symptom of skin cancer.
Avatar f tn Hi . Recently I noticed a tiny red dot on my left breast nipple ... As in the center of the nipple itself . I am 35 and is currently breast feeding my 5th baby . The red dot has changed colour.. It's now black in colour and is slightly protruding. I'm beginning to get worried about it now.
Avatar n tn Or, you may want to think about something completely different like the Vivelle Dot patch. This is something your Dr will have to prescribe just like your Estrace pills.
1476337 tn?1311806943 Hey Ladies, I was wondering is anyone starting or have started Vivelle and or Ganirelex with their IVF Cycle? I start Vivelle tomorrow and Ganirelix on the 3rd of this month. Does it have any side affects.
Avatar n tn Hi! I agree with Mary regarding the possiblity of adding a little progesterone to your regimen. I'm also on the vivelle dot patch (.075 strength) and have just recently 50 mg of progesterone (which I take orally, but many prefer to use as a cream or gel transdermally). I'd ask your doctor about adding some progesterone to your regimen. Just my thought :-) Good luck!
178345 tn?1242536246 Hi Carol - I saw one of your posts regarding the V-Dot..I am on the V-Dot since my surgery in May. I had gallbladder removed by laproscopic and then an abdominal vertical incision to remove 2 large masses 12cm and 10cm. I ended up with a full hysterectomy at 40. Unfortunately I ended up having to go back in for emergency surgery a week after for a ruptured bowel and because I was cut 2x in the same week i needed a wound vac for almost 3 weeks to help heal the wound.
Avatar m tn My girlfriend is 18 years old and she has a brown dot under her left breast. It doesn't hurt and it little. It first stared as a dot, the same color of her skin, then maybe 2 or 3 weeks later. it turned brown. What can this be? Is she young to have breast cancer? Can it be that or skin infection?
Avatar f tn there are patches, sprays, creames, I used Vivelle dot a estrogen patch..helped me alot...my only symptoms where really bad night sweats (this tends to happen post op and eases up after bodys not shocked by the surgery) yes they can continue but not as bad as first month...also I had hot flashes mild by what some have described. Im going to tell you what I would do, If I was you honestly Id tell them to take my ovaries. If you were in your twenties I may say different.
Avatar f tn Have you ever thought about being BRCA tested to see if you carry the Breast Cancer gene? My mother and grandmother both died of breast cancer and were carriers. My sister and I were also tested. My sister tested positive and I negative. My sister already had a double masectomy at age 29. It is worth looking into since you have a strong family history. Most insurance companies will pay for it.
Avatar f tn I found a red dot on my right breast near the nipple could it be breast cancer Pls help and I'm only 13 years old

Avatar n tn Make sure the doctor knows what you are talking about when you ask about inflammatory breast cancer. Some doctors actually only know about cancer that causes breast lumps.
