I just went back and read a bunch of our earliest posts - from mid JULY! We've all been such a great support to each other for so long now. It's so sweet to reread. And it is also pretty funny (ex: is it normal that my symptoms come and go??) My friend runs ********.com mommy forums - but I am partial to this group - I don't go to other forums b/c I like this one best - I hope everyone keeps on with baby develops after birth!

Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.

I was just reading a couple of posts and was not certain if you all knew that a few years ago, a study came out that said those with balance issues would benefit from virtual exercies. I have not yet tried this but I think Wee Fit has a section that tests your balance and given this study, it may very well help with this issue. If anyone has tried this it would be good to hear. It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.

I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.

One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.

So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!

I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.

I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.

And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?

i seemed to have poor memory and concentration,and difficulties retaining knowledge.I have difficulties building up knowledge and forgets easily.I am a 36 year old male and not diagnosed with ADHD or ADD.I would like to ask whether stimulatants like Ritalin and Provigil would help me to learn better.

You and I sound very similar in the way the MS is progressing. I am still mobile, but do have many physical symptoms--mostly pain and spasticity. However, the biggest complaint is the mental/cognitive issues and fatigue. I am on a generic form of Provigil. My insurance won't cover Provigil so I get the medicine through a Canadian pharmacy (medicine made in India). This medicine is wonderful and works as well as the Provigil did.

Hi, I was wondering if any one else has experienced problems with short term memory? Mine is getting worse by the day and I am really worried. My friend called me one night and the next day when we spoke, I didn't remember ever talking to her the night before. This type of thing is happening more and more. My move was delayed until the end of the month which means I am delayed in seeing my new LLMD. Would love to hear if this is something many people experience?

your memory problems could be from your actual Depression not being taken care of. When I had my 1st Major Depression, I had a form of memory loss problem, and that was BEFORE I took any meds. In other words, my depression caused my memory loss. The medications actually restored my memory loss. So plz call your Doc and tell him/her of your memory problem.

I haven't had a diabetic seizure in about 2-3 years, but lately I will talk to friends and repeated tell them the same thing each time I see them because I don't remember ever telling them. I had 48 weeks of Peg Interferon and Ribavirin 2 years ago and have many problems such as severe ocular and facial rosacea, joint and muscle pain, heahaches, severe fatigue, memory problems and depression. I am experiencing various problems mostly with memory. I am 49 and was diagnosed a year ago with diabetes. My A1C was 6.5. I was very tired. I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. All I had to do is sit down and start to relax. My brain was not working so well either. My memory was becoming almost a thing of the past. I was having what I call random access bad sectors. Memory problems and/or "brain fog" are a very common symptom of hypo. However, as you mention, other scripts, etc. can also be to blame. If you'd post your most recent FT3, FT4 and TSH with reference ranges (ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report), we can take a look and see if you look like your meds are well adjusted for you. Do you have other hypo symptoms as well? What thyroid meds do you take and dose? What other meds are you taking?
