memory

1260255 tn?1288654564 What concerns me is that I have experienced some memory problems that I consider very abnormal. There have been conversations that are completely out of my recall. It's as if the conversations/events never got stored in my brain. No discussion with others involved can help trigger recall. The scary part of this is that I am not aware of the memory malfunction until a subsequent event makes it important and I realize that I remember nothing. this has happened both at work and at home.
128158 tn?1209613918 I've been wondering if someone is going to add Joanne to the list or write something on the rememberance page in her memory. I don't feel that I knew her well enough to do that. She was my cyber buddie for a short time, and a good, caring friend to this forum, I miss her so.....
Avatar f tn Well one of my friends told me about a virtual baby shower so I thought I would look into it and see what it was about. Well it is a very cool idea for those of us who can't do a traditional baby shower. I just made my baby shower event page today on Facebook and a lot of my friends are saying what an awesome idea this is and I'm already getting gifts sent to me. I can now say that I don't have to worry about a car seat because someone just bought it for us.

Avatar f tn is the bane of my existence. I constantly go to get drinks for a table and have to march right back over to the table cause I completely forgot what they said.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar f tn Hi, I too have had this issue pre and post op, and find it is more the short term memory that is the problem....when I was still working, I made a list of things I had to do at work on Monday's and put a time table that they had to be done, and did so for each day of the week, I also had my cheat sheets for the diff computer spreadsheets so I had a reference and by using it this helped my memory, so for things that have to be done daily a check list out in plain view is helpful....
108861 tn?1227246048 We were all drawn here by the same beast but we set those concerns aside during Cyber Party and just get to know each other. We bring virtual goodies and set them up on the table by the virtual hot tub that we will soak our imaginations in later with a cocktail of choice (also virtual) and tell tales out of class. Tell us where you live, I am from Minnesota but out of town just now, kids, whatever. I, as hostess, will supply an icebreaker topic when I start the festivities.
Avatar dr m tn But they have the dramatic advantage to cross-protect either drug in the combo from resistance development. This advantage overrules the above problems and prevents playing chances for resistance development that might not be manageable in quite a few patients in the long term. There is an obvious shyness to express these views even by experts who do know or strongly suspect this forthcoming issues. This comment is in itself an oversimplified view, of course.

Avatar m tn I read that Zoloft can cause permanent brain damage/memory loss after long term use... is this true?? That's scary...
967168 tn?1477584489 2 years ago at the age of 42 I had a heart procedure done where my heart stopped 3 times and I suffered nerve damage throughout my body and what my dr thinks was oxygen loss and mild brain damage. I also have moderate obstructive sleep apnea and have loss of oxgen which I think makes the problem worse. Could that brain damage and oxygen deprivation cause dementia/alzeheimers? how do I tell?
Avatar n tn She speak very well and has good memory. Physical therapist are trying to get her stand up and be stable. Mom tries hard but she is not there yet and gets tired easily. We all hope she can continue with the exercises and does not give up. She does seem frustrated at time. My dad belives that she is depressed and has told the doctor.
1068552 tn?1255133108 On several occasions I have become completely syncopic, with no memory. Even clearing my throat or a little hack can set it off. I have active herpes zoster under left axial fossa. Shingles with very painful postherpetic neuralgia. Was wondering if this is a vasovagal response, or more closely related to the shingles. Spent 10 days at Cleveland Clinic in January and my cardiovascular system is exceptional - very strong, very efficient, better than perfect for my age.
