For example, Vicodin can be 5mg of hydro and 500mg of tylenol as can Lortab. Or Vicodin can be 10mg of hydro and 325 mg of tylenol and so can Lortab. So they only way one will be stronger than the other as if the Vicodin was 5/500 and the Lortab is 10/325.

I had brain tumor surgery in June and have been on Vicodin. In the last month i have been alternating (every 4 hrs) both Vicodin and Tramadol on a daily basis.I thought it would be a good way to decrease the Vicodin. I read the "precautions" for tramadol and it states "do not take with narcotics or other opioids". Then I realize that tramadol is just as addicting as vicodin. So why would a physician prescribe tramadol to try to get off the vicodin?
what could be happening in my body that once I lay down and fall asleep, this happens? And again, ONLY when I take vicodin. But why SO many hours after the dose? And it only triggers when I fall asleep. If anyone has any insight or have had a similar experience, I'd love to hear from you but in closing -- Vicodin will kill me, I have received my warning more than once.
If you are still cold a lot, it is likely that it does have something to do with the WD of the vicodin. (cold AND sweats) I had a hysterectomy a few weeks ago, and I have had HORRIBLE nightsweats since then. I had a hard time telling what was causing it, but I know now that it can't be drug withdrawal. It's been too long!!!

No disrespect, but this is one of the more absurd questions I have read. You are on an anti-depressant (lexapro) and consuming alcohol, a CNS depressant, AND taking another mind-numbing substance (Vicodin). You should be taking Lexapro ONLY to deal with depression or whatever reason you are taking it. Both other meds are contraindicated for Lexapro. Smarten up.
s strange the week or so I was in the hospital with all the stress and trauma and Vicodin....I never once had palpitations or full-blown a-fib once.
When I got out of the hospital I continued on the Vicodin like you for a couple of months as needed. The I weaned myself off but cutting back from 2 a day to 1 to 1/2 and I didn't have any adverse effects. It sounds like you weaned yourself gradually off it too.
I have a question about the difference between oxy and vicodin are these two drugs seperate addictions for instance I am on day 7 (yippee) without and oxy's I have been taking some small doses of vicodin for the last 7 days to keep myself from going completely off the deep end although there have been many many times where I thought I was going to absolutly lose it, I have been through this once before my main issue with detox is anxiety is by far is my worst symptom I can deal with the lack
My friend that is a doctor called me in a perscrition of Ativan and said to take 1mg as needed and that I should be fine and would detox from the pain meds and xanax in a few days. Fact is, I'm really not even sure if/which one I'm craving, But I know that in the afternooons I have to take something to get rid of the jitterbugs. I have an appointment with another doctor (addictionoligist) in a few days but if anyone could offer some advice here I would surely appreciate it.

Right now, I am going to be tested for irregular levels and can not conceive. I was only on Vicodin for 1 wk and it totally screwed with me. All opiates can make your testoterone and prolactin irregular. Tough the pain out, its not worth it. PLus that sh*t is ddicting and makes you too tired to be active.

I am trying to get off Morphine and Vicodin prescribed for COPD and back pain. It's the 6th day now and I have had a heck of a time at night. Any suggestions? I have benzos, 5mg and took about 5 last night over several hours, feel like heck this AM. I need help. Hospice prescribed these meds and I can't abide them any more, they put me nodding all day.
I relapsed on the vicodin and am now wondering if I should just continue to take the Ativan and slowly taper off of it? I don't know what to do. I don't want to get hooked on the Ativan and end up with a worse problem, but I haven't eaten or slept in days. I don't know what to do. Please someone help me.
The Methadone was worse than the Vicodin. I stayed clean for years. Even was prescribed Percocet and used them as directed and was done. I had painkillers prescribed to me from Doctors and never touched them. Never filled the prescription. I was doing so good and was so happy that the Methadone ball and chain was behind me.
Fast forward 10 years later....
I was sober off everything during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Lately, I have been abusing 1000 mg vicodin and I take about 3 a day. I am in pain, but it has turned into recreational and possibly physical addiction. I also take an occasional xanax as well. Have I hurt any aspect of the baby's development. I feel like I hate myself and I need help. I'm also on 60 mg of prozac a day, which the doctor told me was ok, and he monitors my meds.
I had a L4/5 spinal fusion two years ago and disabled since. I have a non-union and live in severe pain. I have taken Vicodin since and my obstrician says I can and should continue to take it and she prescribes it to me. She said the only thing is my baby will have withdrawls :{. Any feedback on any personal experience of patience with vicodin use and there babies?
Hi there and welcome.First,the pain in your nose is definately from the tylenol in the vicodin.Try straight saline solution (nasal spray) to rehydrate the nasal cavity.It will work miracles!Give your nose time to heal...stop snorting vicodin...it's not worth it.How long have you been snorting vicodin?Good luck to you and keep uis posted!!
