
Well, if you had gestational
hypothyroidism,
and now do not have
hypothyroidism, then children are not at major risk. However, if you do have hypothyroidism now, then yes, the children could be at risk. Excess weight gain, lethargy, delayed milestones of development, short stature, dry skin, hoarse voice etc may be present if your child has hypothyroidism. An annual screening by blood tests should be enough. However, do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
