Common Questions and Answers about Viagra for hypertension

viagra

Avatar n tn Hi, Viagra will prolong your erection but I’ll suggest you to consult your physician before starting on Viagra and rule out certain important diseases like hypertension, coronary artery disease before starting on Viagra. Viagra can cause hypotension (low BP) and can tend to worsen hypertension and coronary artery disease. I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I know that drugs like Viagra etc,,, are used for pulmonary hypertension as well as erectile dysfunction. I'm a nurse and had a guy come on our floor with sildenafil as a regular medication. I asked the doctor why and he said the pulmonary hypertension. So I could see a use for what your husband said.

Avatar m tn I'm 48 year old male, I had very high untreated hypertension for I don't know how long. I went to the doctor and he prescribed Metoprol 100mg., Lisinopril 25mg., & Norvasc 10mg. daily. Also 1/2 hydrochlorithizide 25mg every other day. Before this there were never ED problems, but since there has been. Are there any other medications to lower blood pressure without this side effect? As of now the hypertension is under control with these meds.

Avatar n tn I was diagnose with clogged arteries over a year ago. I even had a stent put in because one of my arteries was ecluded. I still had stable angina every time I did some for of cardio activity or is I ate something with sodium. I started using Nitroglycerin patches and even have the pills just in case my angina episode occurs. I had a date and I read online that you can't take viagra and any nitrates cause it can drop your blood pressure really low.
547253 tn?1398187995 Patients with pulmonary hypertension may get some symptomatic relief with oxygen and oral medications for pulmonary hypertension, such as sildenafil (Viagra) and some others. Your cousin's family needs to discuss things in detail with the cardiologist, to make sure everyone understands the serious nature of this condition and its impact upon long term survival.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately there is no easy treatment for pulmonary hypertension associated with unrepaired congenital heart disease. It sounds like your sister has been very fortunate to have lived to the age of 35 years (many don't live that long) and to have found happiness and marriage. PAH secondary to congenital heart disease will lead to an early death in all cases.

Avatar f tn Cialis is NOT for women and has only been approved for men. You had a bad reaction to it, so do not use it again.

Avatar m tn Assuming it does get to the point with this women that sex is a possibility, I was thinking I should use Viagra for the first one or two encounters to help ease the anxiety. It may not vanish but at least the possibility of never performing will have been removed and I believe it's that first time that gets me especially anxious. I appreciate that this problem is psychological and I need to get that kind of help.
Avatar m tn How come Viagra doesn't work for me? Could it be from the prescriptions I take? Is there anything else I could try?
Avatar n tn I personally have an issue with my penis going soft while in side my partner and also the inability to ejaculate with my partner. This is new also for me within the last few years. However, I do not have a problem with ejaculating during masturbation if I am doing the masturbation. So, I sympathize with you,but I do not have a solution except that you may want to look into Viagra or similar drugs.
Avatar m tn Viagra works a treat for me. No problems whatsoever, only a flush to the face for side affects too. Plus even though Viagra is extremely expensive, it also seems the cheapest method. I am already seeing a urologist about this, but has been delaying my appointments for over a year now. I feel as though I will never get round it all (even if it's a serious condition) so all I can really do is help myself to some enhancers for the time being.
Avatar f tn Okay little embarrassed talking about this but your or anyone else's advice would be really helpful! We did try to have sex with a condom but it just wasn't working because he wasn't fully erect. We tried that for ages. Then we tried without a condom for a few minutes but that also didn't get us anywhere so we gave up. Would I still need to have an STD test? He is quite young (22) so I am assuming this was due to large amount of alcohol we drank the night before.
Avatar m tn I go to a local Chinese acupuncturist for my migraines, insomnia and mild impotence. His treatments definitely do help with all three of these conditions. For my impotence he started giving me some yellow/red capsules to take as needed. After taking them for a couple of days all I can say is Wow! This stuff really does work. I've heard of Chinese Viagra and I'm not sure if that is what these are. The come in a plastic sheet of four individual pills sealed with foil.
Avatar m tn You are too young for viagra mate
Avatar f tn If he does that and pops a Viagra I bet he has no problem. Then maybe in the future drop the Viagra at some point.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the advice. I went to a urologist yesterday and he took some blood and urine tests. He basically said that it's either a metabolic issue (possibly low testosterone) or it's anxiety based. He had no hesitation in writing an Rx for Viagra but I stressed that I don't want to take it if there is another option. Hopefully the lab work will provide some answers.
