Common Questions and Answers about Viagra and vision loss

viagra

Avatar m tn Are there any known links between this condition (burst blood vessels) and viagra? i have read about possible links to vision loss, due to reduced pressure, but it seems the opposite for me?
Avatar m tn Hello, Viagra affects blood cells and bloods vessels in the head, skin, causing annoying side effects such as headaches, flushed skin and indigestion, dizziness, hearing loss and visual effects such as blurred vision. Viagra works by causing the arteries to expand in order to encourage increased blood flow to the penis. This, in turn, affects the blood pressure and can possibly contribute to the development of an abnormal heart rate, a stroke or a heart attack.
Avatar m tn I believe that I am having blurred vision problems due to the abuse of taking Viagra pills
Avatar m tn Of late, I have observed that there are changes in vision such as loss of vision, blurred vision, eyes being more sensitive to light. I feel like something always pricks in both of the eyes. I feel blurry all the time. Tough, I have stopped taking sildenafil but I think the blurry vision is increasing day by day. Avatar m tn your eye, then that would be related to the viagra, but otherwise no 4. You may continue to us the ED meds as long as your vision remains ok.
Avatar m tn Hi, I recently started taking sildenafil (viagra) and I am experiencing some vision issues. It's been about a week since I last took a 40mg dose and I'm still seeing little starry patterns as though I've been pressing on my eyes. Is this normal? I've read that viagra can cause blindness in some people and don't want to mess up my vision. Should I stop taking it? And if so, what would be an alternative?
Avatar m tn After I take it, I experience vision problems for about a week after. Namely, I have starry vision and problems seeing in the dark (particularly walking from a lighted room into a dark room.) I've had several eye exams and the doctor says there's nothing wrong with my eyes and it's fine to keep taking Viagra, but I'm a bit worried. Anyone else have this experience or might know what's going on? I'd rather not lose my eyesight just to keep my erection!
Avatar m tn I do not believe this was caused by Viagra. It usually causes a vascular problem. The new onset of floater should be considered an urgent condition. It is may be associated with retinal tears and subsequent retinal detachment. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn I do not want to stop taking Propecia because it has done wonders for my hair. Propecia has halted my hair loss and has re-grown considerable amount of hair. Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem.
Avatar m tn Bgviking is right: a healthy lifestyle can do wonders for your sex life. Lose weight (there are several studies that show that obesity is a major cause of ED), stop smoking, get some exercise. Oral drugs are very effective but they should be taken under the supervision of a doctor. There are only two types of oral drugs that really work: PDE-5 inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra) and VIGAMED (oral phentolamine). Everything else (incl.
Avatar m tn d like to add that I am looking for an alternative to Viagra since Viagra has dangerous side effects. I never read the leaflet of a drug as dangerous as Viagra.
Avatar m tn It seemed to go up slowly but noticeably over the week. I also take Viagra (about a week after the concert) and have had bronchitis recently. I know Viagra sometimes causes side effects in the head, I've had a stuffy head and bad taste in my mouth after taking Viagra in the past. My question is, is it normal for tinnitus to show up a week after sound exposure, or could this be related to something else?
Avatar f tn So it has nothing to do with MS. Viagra increases blood flow and it helps a lot. It will drop your blood pressure and you don't want it to drop to a dangerous level, so you need to monitor it. Start with the minimum effective dose which is 25mg and see if it does something for you. If you wait for a study from the FDA on Viagra for MS, then it will probably happen after you are dead. Please try this now. Viagra has a very good safety profile for a number of years now.
Avatar f tn Could I have a blood clot in my veins? Clogged arteries? What could be causing my loss of,lack of, and weak erections? I'm very healthy and athletic, don't drink or smoke, not on any drugs or medications, and I don't have any discomfort urinating or anything else.
Avatar m tn I had the same prolactin and my doctor put me on parlodel. It totally cured me.
Avatar m tn Please do more web searches and DO NOT use Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. I also have RP and ED. I bought L-arginine/Orinithine but am wary about using until I read that it's ok. Blood flow changes seem to be very bad to already bad retinal cells.
Avatar m tn He has a very serious short term memory loss for 6-7 months now, and he had a great memory, never had any problems before. I know he is older, ageing, and he went to the doctor, and its not dementia or Altzheimer or because he is older, but I suspect could it be because of Viagra? And in late January, he had a stroke. It was noticed only recently, and I read somewhere that in some special cases Viagra can cause stroke.
Avatar m tn s due to using findriside for hair loss. My hair is fine but not worth it now. I only just noticed it four days ago and have immediately stoped taking the medication. Would you say I have done permanent damage or when the findristride is totaly out if my system will it all go back to normal. I have an okay sex life and I am 32.
Avatar f tn My husband is on the medication Suboxone and I was needing to know if he can take Viagra with this medicine? We don't want him to take it and go into withdraws or anything so, are the two compatible?
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a thallium stress test, and would like to know how the use of viagra or nitro prior to the test would influance the results.
Avatar f tn I am just trying to find out if occasional use of viagra would be safe or a risk to take.
Avatar m tn Ive also been tested for HIV so I know thats not an issue and I protect myself while having sex. But I think there may be a correlation between using viagra and my outbreaks. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I have taken Ibuprofen 800mg, nortriptyline HCL 25mg, promethazine 25mg, acetaminophen COD#3, cycmbalta 30mg, pamelor 25mg, cyclobenzarrine 10mg, hydrocodone 500mg, methycprednisolone 4mg, tramadol HCL 50 mg, and viagra 100mg. My question is will any of the medications i was subscribed or taken in combination have symptons of severe memory loss?
Avatar m tn That is because Viagra was a mixture of compounds put together in a drug company to give help to angina sufferers, but the very noticeable side effect was seen. However, they re-branded it for the purpose we see today.
Avatar n tn Definitely check in with your health care provider before using viagra and heart medication. Viagra was accidentally discovered to work for ED when being studied for it's affects on the heart. They always ask you if you are taking this. Men taking ED medications can not take nitrates as a general rule.
