which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
I recently found out that I have IC, endo, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrom. I have pain almost all of the time. I feel like my insides from under my ribcage down to my crotch have been taken out, beat with a baseball bat and then shoved back in swollen and bruised. Sound familiar to anyone? I also have severe kidney pain. Is that related to IC? Anyone else have kidney pain. What treatments have worked for you? The Dr.
I agree that a cystscopy with hydrodistention is the next step, Unfortunately a negative cystoscopy and hydrodistention does not rule out IC. A drug like Ditropan or Vesicare could be tried to see if it reduces the symptoms. The differential diagnosis is IC vrs overactive bladder plus pelvic pain from nerve/muscle trama from childbirth. Hopefully it will resolve spontaneously.
m using the correct term) in which the urologist stretched my bladder under general anethesia and instilled an IC cocktail (I have no idea what was in the cocktail). Anyway, the urologist said that my bladder looked fine. The urologist thinks that I have sensory urgency. I've only had sex twice after the initial onset of symptoms started and each time after sex my symptoms have become worse, so I avoid sex at all costs. Could this possibly be IC?
Also I urinat about 20 times a day and about 15 times at night yes I have tried vesicare and oxybutynin. I also have just had a bladder distention but all this was going on before the bladder distention.
I'm a 24 yr old. I was diagnosed with IC when I was 18. I had ongoing utis everyday. I went had installs done by a uroglist they seemed to help. I haven't seen him in years I ate and drank anything I wanted and no flare at all. til about 14-15 weeks ago. I had sex with my bf so I think that might of caused the flare. I went to a new urologist he prescribes me elmiron 2 times a day. and stick to a diet. which I have.
If your gynecologist has ruled out sexually transmitted infections, and vaginal tears or atrophy (this can happen due to loss of estrogen in menopause), and your urine culture is negative, consider musculoskeletal source for your pressure/pain. Sometimes musculoskeletaql trigger points can cause a feeling of urinary urgency which can be corrected with physical herapy applied to the pelvic floor muscles.
I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
I too had all negative test done and an ultrasound....uro dismissed IC said it is mostly pain but I read that some people do get IC diagnosis w/out pain - I think the doctors don't know much about this disease so I think some people are not properly diagnosed and others may even be wrongly diagnosed. But I do think it's a possibility. The worse part is the waiting game.
4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.

To answer your questions- I am sexually active, with just my husband! Sex does not seem to have any affect on the symptoms. I haven't had any previous surgeries, just 3 normal delivery pregnancies. I don't seem to have any other urinary symptoms. I do have some pressure in my pelvis which comes and goes.
I've tried flomax,vesicare,elmirone,you name it nothing works.Where my discomfort is it is the prostate and the area around it.the mornings are the worst,the whole pelvic region aches.The urologist said my prostate is fine according to my frequent DRE's.I can't believe this condition can so chronic and difficult to cure.This is a terrible condition with no end in sight.Dr. please comment more this matter.Would prostate massage help or just make things worse?
So I been kind of depressed, and 5 neuros later I think Im giving up trying to find a dx. The PTC doesnt explain all my other sx. Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working. Before I started the Diamox, my bladder kinda went back to the old dysfunctional way.

After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?
