which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
I recently found out that I have IC, endo, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrom. I have pain almost all of the time. I feel like my insides from under my ribcage down to my crotch have been taken out, beat with a baseball bat and then shoved back in swollen and bruised. Sound familiar to anyone? I also have severe kidney pain. Is that related to IC? Anyone else have kidney pain. What treatments have worked for you? The Dr.
There is a lady on the IC forum, Shelly. She also has a website called MOARKIC. She is very helpful, kind and full of information. My ob also diagnosed IC, and she's the one that originally gave me the referral to pain management. I also went to a urologist who confirmed the diagnosis by doing a procedure called cystscope with hydrodistention. I have other pelvic issues as well but I feel for you. I can ALWAYS single out my bladder flares and they are horrible.
He gave me urogesic, cipro for 30 days and lyrica for 10 days. My bladder is in good condition with NO IC as per the pictures,my prostate is in good shape and size (thru DRE),I have done PPMT last week,there was no bacteria in prostate also.
I am certain that it all started with bacterial infection thru hand massage with vaginal fluid on the hand of masseuse.
My issue is that still we are only looking at symptoms and cannot pin point and treat the core problem.
I had IC even before I was sexuly active. When I was pregnent with my soon to be 4 year old son the IC was un-noticeable. After I had me c-section do to his head size I had the same Bleadding issue. Was noticing the IC more and more in the first 3 months pp, then they got verry hard to handle and I was having full on wetting eppasodes,like a potty training 2 year old, after I quit breast feeding him do to milk drying up in left breast.

Yes you could have IC. Frequency, urgency and pain with a negative urine culture and no other problems seen on a physical examination means you probably have IC. Up to 20% of patients with the classic symptoms of IC havd a normal cystoscopy and hydrodistention. Although the shooting pains have resolved you still have vaginal pain with intercourse frequently seen in IC patients as well.
The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it.
I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again.

I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
like wipe front to back pee before and after sex. unscented bar soap and detergent etc. I feel this is never going to go away. I'm on anxiety pills now I been missing alot of work I just need help. I go in on June 13th for urologist to check thr bladder. my bladder just feels swollen and really sore. irritated. anything you know that could help? or what's causing this. the doc even mentioned the seasons can cause this. but I doubt for all these weeks. thankyou !
Ever since then, i continue to have the lower back pain, abdominal swelling and the urgency is on and off. my gyno swabbed me and i have to wait 2 weeks for the results to rule out any infections. he also gave me URispas in the meantime to help me out but it helps a bit, not entirely like it use to. Should i book an apt to see a uroligist in the meantime. Im afraid that i have some damage to the bladder or maybe IC.
t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.

Down side of Vesicare is an EXTREME dry mouth and I mean extreme but it does get better and now for me EXTREME constipation, I have been on it for about 5mths and I was warned by both the neuro and the uro that it can affect this part of my body, but I also think i have loss of some function there too which wouldn't help.
I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back. So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine.
I kept with the Vesicare and when we came back I was pretty depressed to be home and had maybe 2-3 days within 2 weeks I had "issuses" of frequency lasting a few hours but then they went away. As of last Mon 11/1, after 3 weeks on the Vesicare and after being home for 2 weeks Iam 100% back to normal and I can't tell if it's from the Vesicare or because the anxiety from the trip has finally faded out of my body as well as the depression from having to come back home.
I was later diagnosed with IC, and prescriber 100 mg of amitripteline. It only works for a very short time and then the pain is back full force.I have had the bladder distention and many trips to the urologist.
Can HPV cause IC and if so, how?
I always wondered if the two were related- but now i am hearing of a new procedure- Sacrum nerve stimulator.

I too had all negative test done and an ultrasound....uro dismissed IC said it is mostly pain but I read that some people do get IC diagnosis w/out pain - I think the doctors don't know much about this disease so I think some people are not properly diagnosed and others may even be wrongly diagnosed. But I do think it's a possibility. The worse part is the waiting game.

Fatigue and dry mouth and dyspepsia are frequent side effects of Vesicare but it is unlikely to cause any sore throat. Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.
I also have IC and am an IC support group leader, and director of MOARK IC. Some of us with IC to require pain management medications. If you are in constant pain ask your doctor for a referral to a pain management physician.
However as far as exercise I also want to exercise but have increased pain! I am excited about two things I recently found and am adding into my life.
One is Pilates for Pelvic Pain, by New Dawn Pilates DVD.
Can I take effexor with Flomax and vesicare as I had anxiety disorder and use to take effexor before but stopped it about 1 year back. Now I am having a lot more anxiety due to my present condition. After stopping the Vesicar I am feeling the urge to urine all the time and i have to use to wash room every hour. Should I start 5mmg Vesicare again?
frequency, urgency and bladder/pelvic pain, pressure or discomfort. Overactive bladder usually has urgency and frequency, possible urge incontinence but does not cause pain or pressure in the bladder. If you don't have a UTI, and your urine shows no blood or heavy glucose, and you don't have an obvious neurologic disorder affecting your bladder you probably have IC.
