which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
I was just diagnosed with IC. I have been in acute pain for several weeks. My doctor prescribed Phenazopyrid(Azo) and Amitriptylin but nothing for pain. I called her back a few days after starting on meds and said that I really need something for pain and she advised me to just go to the emergency room. I am so frustrated with Dr's care. What medications have worked to control acute pain?
I had IC even before I was sexuly active. When I was pregnent with my soon to be 4 year old son the IC was un-noticeable. After I had me c-section do to his head size I had the same Bleadding issue. Was noticing the IC more and more in the first 3 months pp, then they got verry hard to handle and I was having full on wetting eppasodes,like a potty training 2 year old, after I quit breast feeding him do to milk drying up in left breast.

Anyway, the urologist said that my bladder looked fine. The urologist thinks that I have sensory urgency. I've only had sex twice after the initial onset of symptoms started and each time after sex my symptoms have become worse, so I avoid sex at all costs. Could this possibly be IC?
Also I urinat about 20 times a day and about 15 times at night yes I have tried vesicare and oxybutynin. I also have just had a bladder distention but all this was going on before the bladder distention.
The doctor told me my urine was normal but he still prescribed me antibiotics (Keflex). I took the antibiotics for 4 days only when I was supposed to take it for 7 because I started having really bad side effects and my symptoms weren't improving. The next day after i stopped taking the antibiotics it appeared that I had a yeast infection. I bought the over the counter miconazole hoping that this all was just a bad yeast infection but that made my symptoms worse.
t working fast enough so doctor gave me vesicare to try. I been taking it for 8-9 days now I was on rimission for about a week until today. I had the worst bladder fullness and presssure. everytime I go to the bathroom alot of urine comes out. all I been drinking is water and blueberry fruit drinks with no sugar or preservatives I had sex 2 nights ago so idk if that's what's causing this pain or I had some salad dressing lastnight. I never found food or drinks really bother me tho.
That info was helpful. Where i come from to see a urogyno takes up to 6 months so i have a gyno and booked a urologist for the bladder. What i have found interesting is that i was very constipated and have been for months. the severe pressure that i had made me stay away from liquids. I performed an enema because i was blocked up, which a gastroentologist at one emerg visit i had told me he felt alot of bowls backed up. After the enema the pressure has almost gone away.
I am writing because I need urgent advice about a problem. I went for my yearly gyno appt. today. I was there for a long time because I had a lot of questions. My main concern was why I have so so so much frequency to urinate but not alot is coming out. I also have an extreme burning sensation coming from I think the vagina or bladder or from the vulva area. This pain is only after I go and finish wiping. When I was at the appt.

I have very similar symptoms, and was curious about asking my doctor for vesicare. I apologize since you're looking for an answer and all I have is questions, but I'm hoping you can help me decide if this medication can help me. I'm a 23 years old male, and have had pretty severe OAB symptoms since I can remember. So bad I have publicly wet my self for not being able to get to a bathroom fast enough.
Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Now that I have a new doctor I do feel confident by her doing this it will give her an idea as where the next step should be. All the IC meds have not worked for me at all. They did the IC coctail with made thingsa million times worse, and then elmiron, aterax, and amatriptalin (sorry about the spelling). After she takes a look and see's what her results are then that's when we'll decide to go next.
Hi Vanessa. I ws sent to the urologist because of pain and blood in my urine. They did a series of tests including since antiobiotics didn't work, ct scan, ivp, rinalysis, cystoscopy at the urologist. Stones, cancer everything urological wise has been ruled out. The only test the urologist didn't do was the potassium test for ic, and he never even mentioned it to me. My gynecologist tested me for it, and I could definitely tell the difference between the two solutions.
4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.
