The only thing is, the doctor in the ER gave me Valtrex to take...once my order gets here tomorrow, should I stop valtrex or can I take both for even better results?

I was just wondering if H-Balm by Forces of Nature was worth giving a shot. It seems as tho the reviews for it are pretty good. Has anyone tried it? Any Reviews? If you've found anything else that seems to be working for preventing outbreaks please share. Thank You so much! God Bless!

Today I was put on valtrex for my herpes outbreaks. I'm currently 24 weeks and 4 days and I know I have heard or even seen reviews that most women are put on it by 35 or 36 weeks. But I have been having outbreaks and just not taking anything for it was driving me crazy. As many ppl tell me its going to b ok I'm still furious and afraid out of my mind. please ladies I just need some reassurance,is there anyone who has taken this medication and am I taking too soon?

Hi, I just started dating someone who was honest in disclosing the fact that he contracted HSV-2 unknowingly from an unfaithful ex a couple of years ago. He is on anti-viral/daily suppressive therapy (Valtrex) and of course, I'll ensure that we always use condoms. I am aware that this is quite prevalent and affects around 20% of the population. With regards to my own status, I've been tested and I don't have HSV-2.

It went away in a few days, and she asked the doctor to go on preventive viral (valtrex) and the doctor gave her 500mg 1 times a day - valacyclovir. NOW (JULY 2) she says she thinks she has it again, she has a rash and it hurts. Can HSV1 occur this often?? Could it be something else causing the rash?? Thank you.

I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?

How good does valtrex work in suppressing HSV 1 I started taking 1000 mg a day?

So now that i found out that i have hsv-1 do i need to take valtrex everyday for the rest of my life if i dont want to get my partner infected?

My doctor told me to stop taking Valtrex for a while to let my liver regenerate. While I think Valtrex is an excellent drug for treating HSV 2, I think users should take into consideration that long term use can cause some mild to moderate damage to the liver as my tests have proven. Also, anyone using Valtrex should not drink ANY alcohol while on it because it will exacerbate the problem with your liver. I'm hoping in a few weeks my liver tests go back to normal.

I have not had any outbreaks at all, I occasionally have burning and itching, but beyond that nothing else. I have been on supressive therapy w/ Valtrex since the end of may. I have had pain on lower right abdomen, under my ribcage it feels, and pain on my right lower back. Is this a symptom of Herpes, or can this be a reaction to the Valtrex?

I have been on valtrex for the past 4 months (1 a day) if the symptoms I am having have not gone away for a period of 2 years ( symptoms are there for a week then subside for 2 - 3 days then come back ) this has been like clockwork for the past 2 years.

Thanks. I have started daily Valtrex to reduce the risk of transmission to him. After much discussion, he has agreed, reluctantly, to find out his status. If he's positive for HSV 2, I'll discontinue the med. If he's negative I will keep taking it. She put me on valtrex it seems like the valtrex shortened the outbreaks but i have tingling every day and i dont know why. and I still have outbreaks, so why is this?

OK. So its been nearly 2 months since I've been diagnosed with this inconvenience. Since I never had a "noticeable outbreak", every little itch or tingling that I get spooks me (The reason why I say that is because the time I had sex with my ex, I did have some tingling and 5 days later he had small blisters on his penis, so I know he contracted it from me).

Anyone have success with valtrex alleviating symptoms ?My Dr. prescribed it for 1 week. I also take desipramine (TCA) and have not had any relief from that yet either. It has been 2 weeks. How long can this crazy virus last? Does it subside or run it's course within 6 months? I thought I read this somewhere. Sorry for the multiple questions- this is just so frustrating... Hello, i had a hsv 1 genital outbreak about a month ago, i have had this for six years and only one outbreak since the first time, my question is, do i really need to stay on the valtrex for surpresive therapy, or would it be smarter to stay on it to avoid giving it to someone else
