On Wednesday, I visited a STD health clinic, the nurse thought that my mouth looked like a yeast infection and prescribed nystatin four times a day for two weeks. I've been taking it now for 24 hours and have not noticed a marked improvement.
The night sweats have continued, my mouth is in a lot of pain. the groin swelling seems to have subsided somewhat but is still detectable. I now have swollen lymphs in the neck and a lot of pain in the tongue.
I went back a week later as I still had the itching. I was told it was a yeast infection. They prescribed Nystatin. I used it for two weeks with no improvement. I went to my PCP, showed him my original test results. He looked at me and confirmed the yeast infection and told me to continue with the Nystatin. He ordered all different types of tests +STD tests again except for Clamidia or gonarrhea. He said I did not have any symptoms so no need and the previous tests were negative.
t notice my intial infection because I could have mistaken it for a yeast infection. That is was a reoccurence brought on by stress. Is it even possible to not notice herpes during the first out break? I'm pretty obseverant to my own body though and this is definitely something I've never experienced happening, and like you said 9 months would be too long for this to just now start. Maybe he assumed I'm lying about my sexual activity.

It was a week ago today that I began showing symptoms of what I now know to be genital herpes. I initially thought it was yeast infection or something by the general discomfort and itching, but once the pain really started to get worse I went to the doctor last Thursday and after running lab work on the swap they took I received the clear diagnosis of herpes. She had already suspected that due to the visual exam and immediately put me on 500mg of Valacyclovir.
Seven days ago I started an episodic treatment of 1g valacyclovir for 10 days because I started to get my second cold sore only a week and a half after my primary outbreak had healed. However, this evening I noticed some warning signs, and sure enough I have two or more blisters forming around my mouth and one blister in my genitals. (I was diagnosed with HSV 1 of the mouth and genitals).
Why did I get an outbreak when I'm already on the outbreak medicine? How common is this occurence?
ve been taking yeast infection medicine for close to a year now-all kinds, and that just suppresses the symptoms for a bit.
I've just moved to another state and I've been to 3 PA's in Orlando, FL that tell me it's probably yeast and it couldn't be an OB because this has been a constant for so long. If you're unsure what this possibly could be, what can be done to get a straight answer? I was tested for all other STD's and came out clean.
As such I contacted my doctor and was prescribed valacyclovir hcl which I took (2 1 gram tablets twice daily). The cold sore remained small and eventually went away. After this I went 1-2 days without taking any Lysine or valacyclovir and on the second day I noticed the cold sore coming back again and now appears to have come back and crusted over. I did not think the new cold sore was actually one but then it crusted over.
I wonder whether you now have a yeast infection, which can follow herpes (or any other genital area inflammation.
Lysine is ineffective against herpes -- an urban myth, and some experts would call it quackery.
You should return to the doctor or clinic where your herpes was diagnosed and treated, then follow their advice about the current diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!
I agree with you on the protective effects, including that you are currently taking daily valacyclovir, all combine to reduce your risk for transmission of infection. I should also point out that while we DO know that each of these variables acts independently to reduce risk, how they all work together at the same time is not possible to estimate.
She does not have HSV2 because she was tested for antibodies in March and also in the middle of June and both times no antibodies the doctor said. She was tested for every std (at my daughter's request) and she had no antibodies except for HSV1 - and she had the same antibodies for HSV1 the year prior to any outbreak at all. She is going to the doctors today at 4pm to see what is up.
My question is if a male yeast infection can cause a rash on the scrotum and a small ulcer/blister inside the urethra tip? If it were herpes i'm assuming the blister/ulcer would HURT alot, but it really is only a mild discomfort, same goes with the rash, just a mild discomfort. I took valacyclovir for a week prior to the rash, and when i finished my prescription the rash appeared.

I went to dr mid to late July for severe yeast infection brought on by several months of heavy antibiotic therapy for severe sinusitis. I never had blisters, pimples, or spots. I was very "raw" and I thought the non-grouped "sores" were secondary infection from fissure/cracks / "paper cuts " on my perineum that I have experienced before with yeast , compounded by vigorous sex and spending a day at the river in wet swimwear.

I had unprotected sexual encounter approximately September 4th, 2008 during a time when it felt like I was getting a yeast infection. No sign of herpes on him. Yeast infection symptoms grew progressively worse, mostly itching, burning discomfort. Noticed a couple of spots. Went to gynecologist on Sept. 10. I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've had a couple bacterial infections and recently I've noticed some little white bumps in the vaginal area. I was wondering if this could be from the bacterial infection? Or if it could be from a yeast infection? I have an appointment tomorrow but it's really worrying me and I was just looking for some answers.
