I have been diagnosed with several different conditions, one of which is Chronic Epstein Barr virus and chronic fatigue syndrome. I am experiencing muscle contractions of both lower legs with burning in the muscles and what feels like the shin bones. M'y feet are swelled and I'm unable to walk more then 2-3 steps before my legs start to shake like I'm about to fall from muscle weakness.

Anyone familiar with Epstein Barr test and what results might mean? I received my results via electronic email yesterday and put a call into my Neuro for his input, but of course, it being a Friday...I didn't get a call back. My lgG results were way out of range...0.0-22.9 is the range and mine is greater than 750!! And my IgM is below...range is 0.0-43.9 and mine is less than 10.0. Has anyone else had this tests/similar results? Thanks!

I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr Virus in July and am now suffering from Agoraphobia, depression and anxiety. My regular physician told me that it my last follow up for the Epstein Barr (even though I know I'm not fully recovered.) Now I can't seem to find anyone that will treat me for both phyical and emotional problems. Any suggestions?

Kyle, I found the article very interesting;sometimes hard to follow.For instance mentioning that it's impossible to have MS without having the Epstein-Barr virus.And in the next sentence it seemed to be contradicting that statement by saying that if MS were caused by a virus,treatment wouldn't work. I first learned about autoimmune disorders when my oldest daughter,then only a child of 12 yrs,was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver.

I tested positive for a monospot the first time but my epstein barr virus titers were negative so I had to do repeat testing. Then, I had a negative monospot and only one of my epstein barr virus titers had raised. I have also been having oral thrush and fatigue and my whole body hurts as well as still recurrent yeast infections and headaches and dizziness. I have heard that there is a correlation between people whose epstein barr virus titers are positive and those who are experiencing ARS.

B12 was fine, D3 was very low and I'm being treated for that. No Epstein-Barr virus was done, but I don't think that's the problem.

Could it be that I have contracted HIV and the HIV virus is overwhelming my immune system, so that it can not fight the CMV and Epstein-Barr virus? I went to an infectious disease doctor (to several of them ) and they have done testing for HIV, hep b and c, TB, toxoplasmosis , CMV and Epstein Barr virus. I even went to the OB/GYN after 5 months to test for herpes, gonorrhea, chymidia and ever other STD and it came back negative except the herpes simplex 1 which is the cold sore one that everyone has. I did that just in case because I had sex after a few weeks of this incident. This testing was done about 2 months and a week after exposure.
